About Ginsoy - Extreme Chinese

Ginsoy - Extreme Chinese, located at 3505 Odyssey Dr unit 75 in Mississauga, Ontario, is a Chinese restaurant that has garnered attention for its food and portion sizes. They offer a dine-in experience and likely takeout services as well. You can contact them at (866) 616-3151 or +1 866-616-3151.

Based on customer reviews, Ginsoy can be quite popular, especially on weekends, with one reviewer experiencing a 35-minute wait for a table. The dining space has a capacity of around 80 people. Service times for receiving the initial soup and crackers after ordering ranged from 10 to 20 minutes, with overall service being described as good and helpful with food selection.

A notable feature of Ginsoy is the generous quantity of their dishes. The soup is reportedly large enough to serve 5 to 6 people, the family-sized rice also suits 6 people, while the gravy dishes are estimated to serve 3 to 3.5 people. Customers are advised to be mindful of these large portions when placing their orders.

In terms of taste, the hot and sour soup (noted for being without artificial coloring/soya and suitable for children) and the Thai soup received high ratings (9/10). The chicken fried rice was also well-received (10/10), while the spicy chicken fried rice (6/10), Mongolian beef (7/10), and chilling chicken (6/10) had more mixed reviews. One reviewer did not particularly enjoy the garlic chicken due to the strong presence of the Mongolian beef.

It's important to note that a 15% service charge is automatically included in the bill. Overall, one reviewer gave their experience a 4/5 rating, considering it better than most Hakka-style restaurants. Reservations are accepted for the next day, but same-day reservations are not available.

Another customer shared a less positive experience, encountering an hour-long wait on a Thursday. They also mentioned that tables seated after them were prioritized for ordering, leading to a further 15-20 minute delay before their order was taken. While they praised the delicious soup, they found the menu's portion sizes confusing, with only options too small for 4-6 people or excessively large. They felt this encouraged ordering larger, more expensive portions. The rest of the food was described as just okay, with one dish being too spicy and a lack of helpful guidance from the waitress. This reviewer felt the overall experience did not justify the long wait or the price, noting similarities to Hakka-style restaurants and expressing no intention to return.

In summary, Ginsoy - Extreme Chinese is a popular restaurant known for its large portions and some highly-rated dishes like their soups and regular chicken fried rice. However, potential customers should be aware of possible long wait times, especially during peak hours, the mandatory 15% service charge, and the varying opinions on other dishes and the overall dining experience.

Someone recommended me to try this place, so I went there. This is my honest & in good faith review. ▪︎Parking : Ridgeway plaza( rest. you know) ▪︎To be seated: On weekends, it's over packed , and it took us 35 mins to get in the dining room. ▪︎Dining space: 80 people. ▪︎Service :10-20 mins( served soup & crackers instantly after order ) over all Service was good & helpful during selection of food. ▪︎Quantity: large soup good for 5/6 persons ▪︎Rice ( family good for 6 persons) ▪︎Gravy food. Good for 3/3.5 persons. So be mindful when ordering food. ●Taste: ▪︎Hot & sour soup ( without color/soya) kind of home made.good for kids too. 9/10. ▪︎Thai soup( single serve) 9/10. ▪︎Chicken fried rice. 10/10 ▪︎Chicken fried rice (spicy).6/10 ▪︎Mongolian beef 7/10. ▪︎Garlic chicken ( so spicy at all) personally I didn't like much in precense of strong magolian beef so giving no #. ▪︎Chilling chicken: 6/10. ▪︎Service charges at 15% were included in the bill. ●Over all 4/5. Better place than mostly hakka style restaurants. & Yes, you can reserve for the next day ▪︎NO reservation available for same day.

We visited this restaurant for the second time after hearing so much hype. On our first attempt, we chose not to wait an hour for a table, but this time, despite it being a Thursday, we faced another hour-long wait. After 1 hour and 15 minutes, we were seated, but to our frustration, tables seated after us were prioritized for ordering, and it took 15-20 minutes before anyone took our order. The soup, however, was a highlight — it was absolutely delicious. But from there, the experience went downhill. The menu was confusing, with only two portion sizes: one too small for 4-6 people and another excessively large. It felt like a business tactic to encourage ordering the larger portion, which meant paying more, even if we didn’t need that much food. The rest of the food was just okay. One dish was too spicy, and although the waitress kindly replaced it, it was frustrating to not get much guidance in choosing our order. The long wait, combined with the overcrowded atmosphere, made it hard to enjoy the meal, and the food didn’t live up to the hype. It honestly felt like we were paying too much for an average experience. it felt very similar to Hakka-style restaurants .there wasn’t a huge difference in terms of flavor and quality. While we liked the soup, the overall dining experience didn’t justify the wait or the price. With so many other restaurants offering similar cuisine without the hassle, I don’t think we’ll be returning .

I heard a lot of good things about Ginsoy, and I was very excited to try it out. Their food is good but I didn't notice anything spectacular. Their best item is their soup. It had a lot of flavour and was very comforting. However, the chow mein and the Manchurian chicken were severely lacking in flavor. I think there's a lot of hype surrounding the restaurant, so your expectations are very high, but it's better to try it yourself and see what you think.

After hearing so much about this place, finally got to try Ginsoy at the Mississauga location whilst visiting family there. Reservation is a must or you will be waiting a long time for a table. We were seated right away at our reserved time, service was fast and wonderful. We ordered hot and sour soup, crackers (which are now a $1 a basket), cashew chicken, dynamite shrimp, dynamite chicken, hot and spicy noodles, hot and spicy fried rice and chilli chicken. Food was amazing! Full of flavor, perfect blend of spices and prepared hot and fresh. Cashew chicken definitely surprised me, it was one of the best I have had. Hot and spicy are a must try. Food portions on family sizes are very generous and were more than enough for 8 adults. Loved the food, ambience and service. Totally worth it.

We were 4 people (2 kids and 2 adults). We ordered mixed fried rice, mixed chowmin, dynamite prawns, spicy garlic chicken and cashew chicken. The quantity is huge, one single order can be easily shared by 2 people. In terms of food, the dynamite prawn was amazing, we will got for it again. The cashew chicken was very good. We liked the rice and the garlic chicken was also okay. We didn’t like the taste of mixed chowmin because of heavy soy sauce. Overall the service is good.
