A bit surprised that such an authentic Sichuan Restaurant is located in Claremont. So they use Chinese pepper corns, star anise, chili oils and spicy bean sauces like in China. So far all dishes were very good and service is great. It is not so crowded now since it recently opened. I am worried if there will be long lines later when people find out their food is good. I recommend Sichuan boiled fish in spicy oil and ma po tofu. Parking is available.

I was excited to discover a new Chinese restaurant in Claremont, but it was underwhelming. The portion sizes were shockingly small… for the price, the portions felt like appetizers than main dishes. The food was way too salty, it’s unbearable. The presentation of the food was nothing like the pictures on the menu…the dish arrived looking hastily thrown together and it is unappetizing. While the staff was polite and nice, it did not make up for the poor quality of the meal. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant unless they improve their portions sizes and flavor balances.

Got lunch here today, the food is really good, everything tastes fresh and the seasoning is clean and intentional, nothing extra or unneeded. Only complaint is that the lunch special size is rather small and does not come with any extras. I’d rather pay a couple extra $ to not have to order 2 things. I could get the dinner option but then the expense is much higher and rice is extra. This is just a recommendation since the business is new, but I see no reason to come for lunch as other places have more filling meals with extras, instead of just a smaller, cheaper dinner portion.
