About Ginger Exchange - Mission Hill Roxbury

Ginger Exchange - Mission Hill Roxbury, located at 1625 Tremont St in Boston, presents itself as an intimate and cozy space, making it suitable for a range of experiences, whether you're looking for a quiet spot as an introvert, a place for a date, a chill hangout, or simply to enjoy a meal, especially in the evening.

The staff at Ginger Exchange are often described as very kind and cute, contributing to a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere. The menu is varied, encompassing popular Asian dishes with a primary focus on Japanese cuisine. A standout recommendation from patrons is the Makimono (sushi rolls), which are frequently praised as yummy and worth trying. Even cooked options, enjoyed by those who prefer to avoid raw food, have been well-received.

Other dishes mentioned include the delicious lollipop shrimp. However, some customers found the kimchi fried rice to be a little bland and the Pad Thai to be on the sweeter side, wishing for a more sour and salty profile. To balance the meal, it's suggested to consider ordering vegetables or soup.

It's important to note that recent feedback includes mixed reviews regarding the food quality. One customer who visited for a work lunch described the food as some of the worst they've had in Boston, although they did mention quick service and reasonable music volume. Another reviewer who tried the three-roll sushi combo noted that while two rolls tasted fine, the rice in general was harder than expected, and one roll had an off-putting taste. This suggests that the quality of the dishes might be inconsistent.

Despite the mixed reviews on food quality, the ambiance and friendly service remain positive aspects of Ginger Exchange - Mission Hill Roxbury. If you're in the Mission Hill or Roxbury area and looking for a cozy spot with a focus on Japanese Makimono and other Asian-inspired dishes, it might be worth a visit, keeping in mind the recent feedback on potential inconsistencies in food preparation.

The intimate and cozy space is perfect for introverts, date, chill, or enjoying a meal, especially in the evening. The staffs here are very kind and cute. The menu is varied, which includes popular Asian dishes, and mainly Japanese ones. Highly recommended for the Makimono. They tasted really yummy and worth😋. We tried some cooked ones since my besties couldn't eat raw food, but it was still damn good. The lollipop shrimp was also delicious. The kimchi fried rice is fine, but a little bland with the others. Also, for us the Pad Thai was kind of sweet. We expected it to be more sour and a little more salty. I would say order some veggies or soup, so you will not get bored quickly. I will be back to try the shushi and other dishes.

Went for a work group lunch. Food is some of the worst I’ve had in Boston but it came quick and the music wasn’t overly loud. The three roll combo is ~$20 after tax. Salad was probably ok, but didn’t finish it because the tomato had a strong mush/beet-y taste like it had been sitting around. Cucumber was ok. For sushi, rice was on the harder side and didn’t seem like short grain sushi rice. Two of three rolls tasted fine, the third one tasted like rubber (the way tires smell) but with wasabi was ok. Forced myself to finish since it would’ve been too awkward to send it back with colleagues around

The food is exceptional, reflecting a high level of quality in every dish. I can certainly see myself becoming a regular here, as the staff are incredibly kind, and the professionalism in the food preparation is evident. This has been a wonderful discovery for me, and I wholeheartedly encourage everyone to give this place a try; I believe you will be thoroughly pleased.

My first time ordering from here and very disappointed especially with the price point being so HIGH! I ordered chicken pad Thai & I literally got unseasoned no sauce noodles with peanuts on top and chicken being tough/dry with 0 flavoring. Very upsetting and a waste of food honestly. 0/10. Looks nothing like the photo advertised. I want a refund honestly.

I ordered sushi and dumplings from here last night. I got food poisoning from eating here. I would not recommend. I’m disappointed they didn’t handle the food with care. I will never buy from here again.
