About Ginger Cafe
Welcome to Ginger Cafe, an Asian restaurant located at 14017 St Francis Blvd NW in Ramsey, Minnesota (55303, USA). Situated within the Chinese Restaurant category and offering a broader range of Asian culinary delights, Ginger Cafe has garnered attention as a potentially top dining destination in the Anoka-Ramsey area. You can contact them at (763) 323-8333 or via their mobile number +1 763-323-8333 for inquiries or to place an order for takeout.
Customer reviews of Ginger Cafe present a somewhat varied picture, highlighting both positive and negative aspects of the dining experience. One customer, who specifically ordered the Pho soup, expressed disappointment with the dish. They noted a scarcity of meat, mentioning only two meatballs and some beef, while traditionally, Pho soup includes tendon, steak, tripe, and brisket. The absence of these components led the reviewer to describe their meal as "mediocre at best." Additionally, they observed a different consistency in the rice noodles compared to what they typically expect, although they acknowledged this could be due to a delay in mixing the noodles with the broth after pickup. Despite this food-related disappointment, this reviewer commended the service as "great" and expressed an intention to return to try other dishes, indicating a willingness to update their review based on future experiences.
Another customer provided an overall positive rating of 4.5 out of 5 based on a takeout experience. This reviewer offered a breakdown of their experience, noting that the atmosphere appeared clean, with clean tables visible during their brief visit for pickup. Although they did not use the restrooms, they remarked that the facilities looked great from their perspective. The service received high praise, with the staff described as "very friendly" and attentive, treating the customer as valued rather than just someone picking up an order. Regarding the food, this reviewer found it to be "good" with no complaints about the taste, although they mentioned that the portion size was "a little less than average." The primary reason for the slightly lower rating was a discrepancy between the prices listed on the website and the actual prices charged at the time of pickup. The customer was informed of the price change ($18 for sweet-and-sour chicken with fried rice) by the waitress/hostess upon arrival, which came as a surprise.
Based on these reviews, Ginger Cafe seems to offer a clean and welcoming environment, at least in the customer-facing areas observed during takeout. The service appears to be a strong point, with staff described as friendly and attentive. However, the food quality and value seem to be areas where experiences can differ. The Pho soup, in one instance, did not meet expectations in terms of ingredient variety and quantity. On the other hand, the sweet-and-sour chicken was deemed good in terms of taste, although the portion size was perceived as slightly smaller than average, and the price was higher than advertised online.
The discrepancy in pricing between the website and the in-store charges is a point of concern that potential customers should be aware of. It is advisable to confirm the prices of dishes when placing an order, especially if relying on information found online. This situation suggests a need for Ginger Cafe to ensure that their online pricing is up-to-date and accurately reflects the current costs to avoid any unexpected surprises for customers.
Given that Ginger Cafe identifies as an Asian restaurant, it likely offers a menu that extends beyond traditional Chinese cuisine. The mention of Pho soup suggests the inclusion of Vietnamese dishes, and it is possible that other Southeast Asian or East Asian culinary styles are also represented. This broader approach could be a feature that attracts customers looking for a variety of Asian flavors in one place.
As no specific promotional information was available in the provided reviews, local users interested in dining at Ginger Cafe may want to check their website or contact them directly to inquire about any special offers, lunch specials, or family meal deals that might be available. Exploring their full menu online could also provide a better understanding of the range of dishes they offer and their current pricing.
In conclusion, Ginger Cafe in Ramsey, MN, presents itself as an Asian restaurant with a clean atmosphere and friendly service. However, customer experiences with the food have been mixed, with one report of a disappointing Pho dish and another finding the sweet-and-sour chicken tasty but noting a smaller portion and a price discrepancy. Potential patrons may appreciate the welcoming staff and the option to explore various Asian cuisines. However, it would be prudent to verify current pricing and perhaps inquire about the ingredients in specific dishes, especially if they have particular expectations based on prior experiences with those meals elsewhere. Further reviews and potentially trying different items on the menu might be necessary to form a comprehensive opinion of Ginger Cafe's overall offerings.

Customer Reviews
I've heard this is one of the best Asian places in the anoka Ramsey area so I was looking forward to finally trying it out. Unfortunately my experience is not what other may have had. I only ordered the Pho soup which is normally a delicious dish. My meal came with very little meat and there was only 2 meatballs and some beef. Pho soup normally comes with tendon, steak, tripe and brisket as well. If any of these meat were included they were not visible at all. The noodles had a different consistency than most rice noodles but maybe that's because I didn't mix it in the broth until I got home 10 minutes after picking it up. Overall it was mediocre at best. I will definitely go back and try other dishes and when I do I'll be quick to update my review and include any positive experiences. The service was great but I wish I could say the same thing about the food. Maybe next time!
Overall experience 4.5 out of 5. To go out review. Doing a breakdown the atmosphere was clean. The tables are clean from what I can see. I did a to go order, so I did not use the bathrooms but from that perspective, it look great. Service, very friendly staff were happy to chat with me and treat me as a customer not it’s just someone picking up and order and going home. Food. I thought the food was good no complaints there, the portion was a little less than average. So here’s why it only got 4.5. Their website price is not reflecting the current price that they just changed it. I was a little surprised at the price of $18 for a sweet-and-sour chicken with fried rice. The waitress/ hostess informed me about it when I picked up the food.
Seat yourself. Plenty of different choices, the server recommended a protein to go with the dish. The Thai iced tea was fantastic! very sweet, but it's iced tea so I'm not surprised. The Thai peanut sauce (I got with chicken) was very saucy with *just* enough rice, probably could do with a little extra to soak up the sauce. The egg rolls were some of the best I've ever had. I could tell the cranberry wontons were fresh, although it seemed a little skimpy on the cranberries. Loved it, will go again when I'm in the area.
Very good service the food tasted very fresh really enjoyed it. We will be back.
Singapore noodles ,soggy as hell noodles drowned in a flavorless curry sauce with nearly raw vegetables. The shrimp on them was good. The wings smelled burned and all the food we ordered smelt like burned wok. Not wok hey, but like char in a bad way, or old ass pan. Egg rolls were 80 percent raw carrot. Chicken low mein tasted of burnt. Fried rice was just oily rice that had been mixed with some soy. Not anything else. Actual asian people work here. Crazy I know. I am not picky about my asian food. I'll basically eat ot all, but this was a new level of bad. I actually came here because I wanted to try the Pho, but they had 3 options only, none of which sounded good. No way they are making pho in traditional way here. Which takes days. I'm legitimately pissed at how gross my food was.
