About Gim Wah Restaurant

Welcome to Gim Wah Restaurant, a local establishment in Seattle serving Chinese cuisine. Situated at 3418 W McGraw St, we aim to provide a dining experience for local users seeking Chinese food in the area. As a part of the Chinese Restaurant category, Gim Wah offers a space for both dining in and enjoying drinks at the bar.

Based on recent feedback from patrons, the environment at Gim Wah Restaurant includes a bar area where customers can spend time. One reviewer mentioned, "Hung out in the bar," indicating that the restaurant provides a space for patrons to relax and enjoy beverages. The presence of a bar suggests that Gim Wah offers more than just a typical sit-down dining experience, potentially catering to those looking for a casual setting to socialize.

In terms of service, one customer specifically highlighted a positive interaction, stating, "Waiter was super nice guy." This suggests that Gim Wah has staff members who are attentive and friendly, contributing to a positive aspect of the dining experience. However, it's also important to note that another reviewer mentioned an issue with their order and expressed overall dissatisfaction, indicating that service experiences may vary.

The menu at Gim Wah Restaurant features a range of Chinese dishes. According to one positive review, the Orange Chicken, General Tso Chicken, and Beef Broccoli were particularly enjoyable, with the customer noting "Lots of flavor and taste." These dishes appear to be popular choices among some diners. However, it's worth noting that another customer had a significantly negative experience with what they believed to be the General's Chicken, describing it as "easily the worst Chinese food I've ever had." This contrasting feedback suggests that the quality and taste of certain dishes may be inconsistent or perceived differently by individual customers.

One piece of practical information shared by a reviewer is that "Some items not available Because they ran out." This indicates that the restaurant may occasionally experience shortages of certain ingredients or dishes, which could impact the menu availability for customers. It's advisable for patrons with specific preferences to inquire about the availability of dishes when ordering.

Considering the available feedback, Gim Wah Restaurant presents a mixed picture. On one hand, some customers have enjoyed specific dishes like the Orange Chicken, General Tso Chicken, and Beef Broccoli, and have appreciated the friendly service and the presence of a bar area. On the other hand, at least one customer had a very negative experience with their food order, raising concerns about consistency and quality across the menu. The issue of items being unavailable due to running out is also a point to consider for potential diners.

For local users in Seattle looking for a Chinese restaurant with a bar, Gim Wah Restaurant at 3418 W McGraw St offers a dine-in option. While some customers have found satisfaction in certain dishes and appreciated the service, it's important to be aware of the varying experiences reported. The availability of specific menu items may also be subject to change. We encourage local users to consider these factors when deciding whether to visit Gim Wah Restaurant.

In conclusion, Gim Wah Restaurant is a Chinese restaurant in Seattle that offers dine-in and bar service. While some customers have praised the flavor of dishes like the Orange Chicken, General Tso Chicken, and Beef Broccoli, and noted positive interactions with the staff, other feedback indicates potential inconsistencies in food quality and menu availability. I ordered General's Chicken. I'm sure that's what they made, their version of it anyway. What I was given is not General's Chicken. Even if it was the wrong order (forgivable), it still tastes terrible. I will never return. Easily the worst Chinese food I've ever had and I've had Chinese food on the Navajo Reservation. Don't do this. Host/server guy was nice.

Literally the worst Chinese cuisine I’ve ever had. The Mongolian Beef box was 1/3 full of the cracker topping. After dumping it out the entire dish was burned as you can see in the picture. Tasted like char. Fried rice was flavorless. Dumpling soup was solid. Curry wontons had basically no filling. Looked like they’d been in a warmer for days. Egg roll was beyond greasy. Ended up just throwing it away it was so disgusting.

My partner and I recently moved to Magnolia so we wanted to try all the local places. Next on our list was Gim Wah. Terrible decision. We ordered take out, proceeded to wait at the restaurant for 10 minutes after our arrival, arrived home 5 minutes later and the food was lukewarm at best. Nothing was fresh. The only item I was able to eat was the fried rice but that was still extremely underwhelming. Both my partner and I felt terrible after eating and my partner ended up getting sick afterwards. If you are thinking about trying Gim Wah, don’t do it. Just don’t.
