About Gift of India Restaurant

Gift of India Restaurant, located at 34425 Grand River Ave in Farmington, Michigan, presents a unique dining experience. While categorized here as a Chinese Restaurant, it primarily serves Indian cuisine with a significant focus on vegetarian options.

The restaurant is divided into two distinct sections. One part offers fast food items such as pizza, burgers, and rolls, catering to those looking for quicker meals. The other section is dedicated to serving traditional Indian food, providing a more extensive culinary experience.

Customer reviews offer contrasting perspectives. One visitor who tried snacks, coffee, and tea found the taste to be average. However, they were particularly critical of the atmosphere, describing it as uninviting and expressing hesitation about eating there. This reviewer also noted unclean food containers, raising concerns about food freshness. Despite these initial impressions, the snacks were reported to be slightly better than expected, but overall, there was a suggestion for improvement in taste, presentation, and cleanliness.

In contrast, another review described Gift of India as a good Indian restaurant in Farmington Hills. They highlighted the availability of a large vegetarian menu. This customer ordered pizza and found it to be good, and their overall experience was satisfactory. They also mentioned that other restaurants have a good seating area, implying that Gift of India might have a different setup.

If you are in Farmington and looking for Indian cuisine with a substantial vegetarian selection, or if you are interested in trying their fast food options like pizza and burgers, Gift of India Restaurant offers a diverse menu. However, it's worth noting the differing opinions regarding the restaurant's atmosphere and cleanliness. You can contact them at (248) 886-6010 or +1 248-886-6010 for more information.

I visited Gift of India and tried some snacks along with coffee and tea. The taste was average, but what really stood out was the poor atmosphere. The ambiance didn’t feel inviting at all — it actually made me hesitant to eat there. The food containers weren’t clean, which gave the impression that the food might not be fresh. Despite that, I still went ahead and tried the snacks, and they turned out slightly better than expected. However, there’s definitely room for improvement in terms of taste, presentation, and overall cleanliness.

Good Indian restaurant at Farmington Hills. Large vegetarian menu is available. Two parts of the restaurant. One serves fast food like pizza burgers, rolls while the other serves traditional Indian food. Other restaurants have good seating area. We ordered pizza and it was good. Overall experience is satisfactory

Gift of India is a little gem. The flavors are amazing. I love the chole rolls. They will make them vegan for me with a spicy green chutney. I crave this dish. If you eat dairy the pizzas as are a must try. They are like a party for your mouth. I just wished I live closer so I could eat here more often. There is a Gift of India Cafe a few doors down. I’m less familiar with the cafe but it has a nice seating area so you can just walk a few doors down and sit and eat your food nice and hot. There is only a little wall bar you can stand at within Gift of India. I’d recommend taking your food to go or going to the Cafe.

I want to say I really hate writing bad reviews, and I don't often do it unless I want to warn others. My girlfriend and I were in the mood for Pizzawala's (Canton, MI), but live in this area and wanted to stay in tonight. We ordered a half and half pizza with Chicken Tikka and Chicken Masala and a Mango Lassi (drink). When picking up, the guy at the counter asked if we wanted drizzle and cilantro which we said yes to. We made it back home in 10 minutes and the pizza was luke warm. The chicken was very dry (to the point of picking it off). It tasted like it was cooked earlier and reheated. Part of the crust wasn't cooked on one slice and felt cold to the touch. One of the other reviewers said the pizza here is like "Little Caesars with chicken" and they aren't far off the mark. The pizza tastes like a frozen cheese pizza that they reheated and added reheated chicken to. The crust was floppy and soft. Unfortunately the drink wasn't as good as the mango Lassi we normally order from restaurants. It tasted like Danimal's yogurt with mango flavoring. It was the only thing from the order we finished. The drizzle and cilantro made the pizza somewhat edible but after a slice and a half each we couldn't bring ourselves to eat anymore. For $28.30 for a pizza ($21.99) and drink ($4.99) I can't recommend this place when a frozen pizza would do better. Pizzawala's large is only $20.99 and it's phenomenal.

Ordered Butter Chicken for take out and it was hands down the worst food I've ever tasted. The rice bowl was full of bones and cartilage (image of meat on the container lid. I didn't continue digging to see if there was anymore) and the taste was not even remotely close to butter chicken that I've had or made myself (Aahar in Farmington Hills, Ashoka in Troy, even Raj Palace). Took three bites, two of which contained bones, and the third just tasted terrible and nothing like butter chicken. Couldn't even force myself to keep eating it. No clue how this place has 4.2 stars. Without a doubt the worst food (not just Indian) I've ever had.
