Based on the enthusiastic feedback from recent customers, George's appears to be a restaurant that has quickly made a positive impression. One first-time visitor reported a satisfying experience after trying several of their signature dishes, including the Peking Duck, General Tso's Chicken, and Crispy Whole Fish, indicating a broad appeal across their Chinese menu offerings.

The Peking Duck stands out as a particularly praised item. Customers have described it as "delicious" and "well priced compared to other restaurants." One reviewer even proclaimed it the "best Beijing Duck in Montgomery County," highlighting its exceptionally crispy skin and generous amount of juicy meat. The preparation, which includes serving it with "the works" (as seen in a customer's picture), suggests an authentic and enjoyable presentation, likened to a "Chinese fajita" but even more delicious. It's also noted that the whole duck is more than sufficient for three adults to share, making it a great option for groups. However, it's important to note a specific condition for a special duck price: customers need to order other dishes totaling $20 or more, and lunch specials do not count towards this total. Despite this condition, the duck's quality and value seem to make it a compelling reason for return visits.

Another highly recommended dish is the General Tso's Chicken. Customers have lauded it as "delicious," particularly appreciating that it features actual white meat chicken rather than being predominantly fried dough, a common complaint at some other Chinese restaurants. This emphasis on the quality of the chicken itself makes it a 10/10 recommendation from one satisfied diner.

While the Peking Duck and General Tso's Chicken received rave reviews, the Crispy Whole Fish had a more mixed reception. One customer found the flavor to be good but noted a "fishy side" that suggested it wasn't as fresh as desired, leading to a personal decision not to order it again. This honest feedback provides valuable insight into the variability of the menu items.

In terms of service, one reviewer who dined during lunch noted that the service was "quick," likely due to the restaurant not being very busy at that time. A thoughtful touch mentioned was the provision of "orange slices and hot towels" at the end of the meal, adding a pleasant and refreshing conclusion to the dining experience. The restaurant's environment was described as having "plenty of seating and well kept," suggesting a comfortable and clean space for diners.

Further emphasizing the positive aspects of George's is the connection to a beloved local establishment from the past, Peking Cheers from the 90s. A returning customer recognized the same gentleman, George, and his wife as the previous owners of Peking Cheers, known for their duck specials. This nostalgic connection adds a layer of trust and anticipation for those familiar with their previous culinary successes. George himself is described as "gracious and kind," taking the time to chat with customers and making them feel very welcomed. This personal touch from the owner contributes significantly to the positive atmosphere of the restaurant.

The reviews also indicate that while the Peking Duck is a standout, other diners were observed enjoying the hot pot, which "looked great." This suggests that the hot pot offering at George's is also a popular and visually appealing option. The reviewer who raved about the duck mentioned their intention to try the hot pot and Korean BBQ on future visits, highlighting the restaurant's diverse culinary offerings. The fact that other diners were "eyeing" the Peking Duck further underscores its popularity.

Given the combination of highly praised Chinese dishes like the Peking Duck and General Tso's Chicken, the availability of hot pot and Korean BBQ, the attentive and friendly service (especially from the owner, George), and a well-maintained environment with ample seating, George's Hot Pot & Korean BBQ & Chinese Restaurant presents a compelling dining option for local users in Gaithersburg. The connection to the well-regarded Peking Cheers adds a layer of established quality and trust.

While no specific promotional information was explicitly mentioned in the reviews, the special pricing condition for the Peking Duck (requiring an additional $20 order excluding lunch specials) can be considered a form of a conditional promotion. To learn about any other potential specials, lunch deals, or promotions related to their hot pot or Korean BBQ offerings, it would be best to contact the restaurant directly.

In conclusion, George's Hot Pot & Korean BBQ & Chinese Restaurant in Gaithersburg offers a unique and promising dining experience by combining authentic Chinese cuisine with the interactive fun of hot pot and the flavorful grilling of Korean BBQ. The Peking Duck is a must-try, highly praised for its taste and value, along with the delicious General Tso's Chicken. The service is noted to be quick and attentive, with a particularly welcoming touch from the owner, George. The well-kept environment and the restaurant's connection to the beloved Peking Cheers of the past further solidify its appeal. Local users looking for a diverse Asian culinary adventure should definitely consider visiting George's to explore their Chinese menu, indulge in the acclaimed Peking Duck, and perhaps venture into their hot pot and Korean BBQ offerings.

Tried this restaurant for the first time and it did not disappoint. We ordered the Peking Duck, General Tso's Chicken, and Crispy Whole Fish. The Peking Duck was delicious and well priced compared to other restaurants. In order to get the special duck price, you did have to order other dishes totaling $20 or more and lunch specials do not count. I would come back for the duck. It was tasty and the whole duck was more than enough for 3 adults to share. The General Tso's Chicken was delicious. You actually tasted white meat chicken vs it just being fried dough. I would 10/10 recommend. The Crispy Whole Fish had good flavor, but I wouldn't order it again. It was a bit on the fishy side - didn't taste fresh. We were probably the only ones dining during lunch so service was quick. At the end, we were brought orange slices and hot towels to wipe our hands. The restaurant had plenty of seating and well kept.

I just had the best Beijing Duck in Montgomery County! We celebrated Valentine's at George's tonight and ordered the whole Beijing Duck special along with Szechuan Green Beans and Pork with Garlic Sauce. This was our first time at this location and the duck had really crispy skin and so much meat! The skin was perfect and the meat was juicy. George certainly knows how to prepare a duck and the best part is that he does duck at half the cost of everyone else. It came with the works (see pic) and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meal; like a Chinese fajita but wayyyy more yummy! For those folks that remember Peking Cheers back in the 90s, well it's the same gentleman and his lovely wife that used to run the duck specials there. George is so gracious and kind. We chatted it up for a bit and he made us feel very welcomed. So glad that we met them again and we will certainly be back for more duck and explore more of the menu. We will try the hot pot and korean bbq as well next time but the duck is a winner. Most of the other diners were enjoying the hotpot which looked great, but I caught several folks around us eyeing our duck haha. You should give it a try!

Great food and attentive service. First great price for the Beijing Duck if you pay cash. The rest of the menu also has good prices. We ordered both the hot pot and Korean BBQ. Both were great with fresh ingredients. At the end you get complementary orange and warm wet napkins to clean up. Highly recommended.

Very warm, family-owned restaurant, with the best Peking duck in all of the DMV, hands down! George and Diana are very friendly and have a passion for great tasting food. George's is a hidden gem north of DC. This place is a must try for foodies.
