Gator's Dockside Melbourne

Came here last night with my boyfriend. I got shrimp tacos and he got a buffalo wrap. Food took 45 minutes to come out and was not worth the wait. Some of the shrimp were mushy and grey and the buffalo wrap didn’t have any buffalo sauce on it and the lettuce was brown.

The place is nicely setup with plenty of tvs but that can’t make up for the atrocious service (or lack there of), the multiple mistakes in our order (which after waiting 15 minutes for them to fix, came out wrong again and we gave up), and the over seasoned and drown in butter meal that I had. Sadly, we will have to find another place to watch our football games.

We waited 50 minutes for lunch within an empty restaurant. Food came out incorrect on multiple items. Training a waitress without actual training her. Food was barely warm and salads tasted like they had accrued refrigerator taste and smell. We were all prior law enforcement and military so asked if they honored the hero’s discount and they said yes. Looked further at receipt and they only honored it on one meal. We were very clear that we all had identification. Atmosphere was great but good and service were not.

Great food and friendly server. I ordered the cucumber jalapeno margarita hoping for a spicy drink, unfortunately it was not spicy. My family explained to the server that I love extreme spicy so the server asked the bartender to make the same drink but intensify the heat. The second drink was just want I was hoping for, I appreciate the server and bartender creating something just for me.

Normally we have had pretty good experiences at Gators. Occasionally they can be a little slow with service but we usually aren’t in any rush so we just enjoy the time waiting. Tonight was a little surprising. We walked in at 5pm for their Monday night all you can eat wings. There was one other customer sitting at the bar. Other than that, my husband, daughter and I were the only 3 customers. The bartender called over and told us to have a seat where we wanted and she would bring menus. When she brought the menus we immediately told her my daughter and husband wanted the all you can eat wings and i was going to find something on the menu. She said she would go put in the wing order and come back with drinks. 5 mins later a completely different server walks over with our drinks, places them down then says “all you can eat wings doesn’t start until 6”. We looked around at the empty restaurant and asked if they could make an exception because we had somewhere to be at 7. And to be honest with how long they usually take to bring the food after ordering, chances were we would be there until after 6 eating. The server looked at us and just said “nope”. I did not have the energy to argue or ask for the manager so we just got up and left. Need a new place for all you can eat wings.
