Decent quality skewers and love the late business hour. On the pricey end for the amount of food, would still recommend and will revisit. This place is packed even at round mid night. My favorites are the pork belly, xinjian special lamb. The big beef skewer with fat and squid are both good as well. Personally think the big skewers have better quality than the smaller ones. Chicken heart was a bit dry but flavor is still good. Fried rice is alright, was thinking it is a bit bland at first but it pair well with the skewers at the end. Each table was served free sunflower seed to snack on while waiting for our order. And skewers are cooked in the kitchen, so clothes and hair won’t small like bbq and everything was hot when it was served.
This place is a hidden gem in Chicago Chinatown. the food is so tasty and I could never find as delicious as these bbq elsewhere. I came back 2 times during my 3 days visit. They don’t serve alcohol but they let you bring your your own, I wish I knew that at the time. restaurant is usually busy on the weekends or evening , u may need reservations but trust me it is totally worth the trip. They also have another brunch in New York I will definitely go there again in New York.
I think they have a misconception about barbecue. I came here with high expectations to eat barbecue, but they gave me fried food instead. I don't understand why the food was still cold when it was served immediately. And why did they tell us there was no stock for happy hour? What's the point of writing that out? Disappointed to the core.
this time I experienced something terrible. As usual, I ordered some barbecue on the Internet and came here for a few minutes. They called me to tell me if something was gone and I could replace it with another one. I said yes, but I saw that the thing they changed was cheaper than the one I ordered. I thought they would give me more quantity or refund the price difference? At worst, consumers should be informed whether things can be exchanged if they are lower than the original price. Maybe they think that consumers generally don't look at the list. This doesn't make me think they are 0 stars, but what I get is cold and good. It doesn't matter. Maybe the takeaway is like this. Then I ordered the chicken skeleton! Since they mixed their necks in it. It's disgusting. If you can give me 0 stars, I will. Maybe they don't care about writing comments at all. Stay away from here
It’s one of the most authentic Chinese barbecue places in the Chicago area. The restaurant has changed ownership a few times, but the flavor has stayed true. The lamb skewers and other dishes taste just like what I used to have in China back in the day, bringing back great memories. The place isn’t very big, with around 10 tables, and the layout is pretty standard for a barbecue spot. The food, however, is excellent and very authentic. I especially love that they stay open late, which is perfect when I’m craving a late-night meal. Sometimes, I even order delivery. What makes this restaurant stand out is that they often introduce new items to the menu, which is refreshing if you’re getting tired of the same old options. If you want to try something different while still enjoying the authentic taste of Chinese barbecue, this is the place to go. And did I mention they stay open late? Highly recommend!
