About Fusion Bowl
Welcome to the introduction of Fusion Bowl, a Chinese restaurant located at 459 Orange Grove Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91104, USA. Situated in the heart of Pasadena, Fusion Bowl operates within the Chinese Restaurant category, offering a quick and affordable option for those seeking Chinese-American fast food. For inquiries or to place an order, you can contact them at their phone number (626) 440-8886 or their mobile number +1 626-440-8886.
Based on the available customer reviews, Fusion Bowl presents itself as a budget-friendly establishment that prioritizes speed and portion size. One reviewer noted that while it might not be the absolute best fast Chinese food they've had, it certainly isn't the worst, suggesting a middle-ground in terms of quality. They specifically highlighted the potato chicken and orange chicken as being good, and the black pepper chicken as decent. The barbecued pork was also described as decent. However, this reviewer also pointed out significant drawbacks with the chow mein and fried rice, finding them bland and in need of salt. While adding soy sauce helped a little, the chow mein noodles were deemed not great, ultimately leading to the noodles and rice being discarded. This indicates a potential inconsistency in the quality and flavor of their various dishes.
In terms of service, Fusion Bowl is described as very prompt and efficient. While one reviewer perceived the staff as not overtly friendly (attributing this possibly to cultural differences), they emphasized the speed of the service. A positive interaction was noted with the person at the register who offered a holiday greeting, which was appreciated. This suggests that while the service might be more focused on efficiency, it is generally adequate and can include pleasant interactions.
The dining area at Fusion Bowl is characterized as clean and plain, lacking any elaborate décor but also being well-maintained. However, the reviewer who provided this description opted for takeout, which seems to be a popular choice for customers of Fusion Bowl. This suggests that while there is a space to eat on-site, many customers prefer to take their food to go.
Despite the mixed feedback on food quality, particularly regarding the chow mein and fried rice, the same reviewer indicated a hesitation to outright recommend avoiding Fusion Bowl. Instead, they suggested caution with the bland noodles and advised sticking with the fried rice, with the caveat of adding soy sauce. This nuanced opinion suggests that while some dishes might be underwhelming, others are acceptable, especially considering the price point.
The affordability of Fusion Bowl is a significant feature consistently mentioned in the reviews. One reviewer explicitly stated, "The prices were low - so no complaint there," and concluded that "you get what you pay for" in terms of quick and simple fast "Chinese" food. Another reviewer enthusiastically exclaimed, "OMG! so much value for your money in the middle of Pasadena!" They highlighted a 3-item combo that was more than enough for two people and priced at a very reasonable $10. This combo included pepper chicken (which they noted looked similar to orange chicken), fried rice, and steamed vegetables with shrimp, showcasing the generous portions offered for the price.
The high volume of customers passing through Fusion Bowl, coupled with the generous portions, reportedly leads to a quick turnover of food, which can positively impact the freshness of some items. One reviewer found the teriyaki chicken to be "excellent" due to this high turnover. This suggests that popular items might be fresher and of better quality due to the demand.
In summary, Fusion Bowl offers a fast-food style Chinese-American dining experience in Pasadena with a focus on affordability and generous portions. While some dishes like the potato chicken, orange chicken, and teriyaki chicken receive positive feedback, others, such as the chow mein and sometimes the fried rice, may be bland. The service is generally prompt and efficient, and the dining area is clean but basic. Takeout appears to be a common preference among customers. The low prices and substantial portions represent a key feature and a major draw for many.
For local users in Pasadena seeking a budget-friendly and quick Chinese-American meal, Fusion Bowl is an option to consider. The value for money, particularly with their combo meals, seems to be a significant advantage. However, it's advisable to be aware of the potential for blandness in some of the noodle and rice dishes, and perhaps stick to the chicken and other highlighted items. The fast service makes it a convenient choice for a quick bite.
Promotional information is not explicitly stated in the reviews, but the consistently praised low prices and the value offered by their combo meals can be considered an ongoing implicit promotion. The positive remarks about the teriyaki chicken's freshness due to high turnover could also encourage customers to try this particular dish.
Local residents looking for an inexpensive and filling meal in Pasadena might find Fusion Bowl a suitable option, keeping in mind the varied feedback on food quality across different dishes. The emphasis on value and speed caters to those prioritizing cost and convenience over gourmet quality. Exploring their combo deals could be a good way to sample a variety of their offerings without breaking the bank.
In conclusion, Fusion Bowl in Pasadena provides a fast and affordable Chinese-American dining experience with generous portions. While some dishes have received criticism for being bland, others, particularly certain chicken options and the teriyaki chicken, have been praised. The prompt service and clean environment are positives, and the low prices offer significant value, making it a viable option for budget-conscious diners seeking a quick meal.

Customer Reviews
Not the best fast Chinese food we’ve had - but definitely not the worst. The potato chicken and orange chicken were good; the black pepper chicken wasn’t bad, either. I also tried the barbecued pork, which was decent. However, the chow mein and fried rice were bland and needed salt; I added soy sauce to mine, which helped a little - but the chow mein noodles just weren’t great tasting at all. Ended up throwing the noodles and rice away. Service is very prompt and while not overtly friendly (I think it’s mainly a cultural thing), it was efficient and fast. The gentleman ringing me up did say to have a happy Christmas, so that was nice - nicer than many other employees we interact with this time of year. The dining area is clean and plain - nothing fancy but nothing ghetto or gross. We got our food to go, so we didn’t stay and eat. Would we go back? Honestly, probably not. But would we tell people to avoid this or go elsewhere? No. I’d say just be wary of bland chow mein; stick with the fried rice and add that soy sauce. The prices were low - so no complaint there. I guess in this case, you get what you pay for. Quick and simple fast “Chinese” food.
OMG! so much value for your money in the middle of Pasadena! we got the 3 item combo & it was more than enough for two (just look at the photo - only 10 bucks!) - you can see the pepper chicken on the left (looks a lot like orange chicken) & there is fried rice & steamed veggies (and shrimp) completely buried in there! 🦥 because of the sheer volume of ppl coming thru this place & how much they give, the turnover of food is quick so we found the terriaki chicken to be excellent!
