Lunch special was $10. Lots of veggies (which is a good thing). Beef was as you'd expect.

The lady who picks up the phone must be protected. Staple NYC Chinese food spot, you get what you get. Not perfect, but signature spot.

Hole in the wall Chinese takeout place. Don't expect fine dining. Good value. Food is standard American Chinese takeout style. I grew up in Hong Kong and find it disgusting, but my American friends grew up with this and thought it was good. Wontons are doughy and kinda tasteless. More dough than meat, unlike the Cantonese style wontons you get in Chinatown. Shrimp with lobster sauce tastes ok. They give you big shrimp, but no peas in it. Just shrimp and cornstarch and egg sauce and a few bits of carrots. Brown sauce stuff tastes like standard brown sauce. There are only three staff in the entire place. The first time I went around lunch hour, one guy was butchering a chicken, one guy was at the wok, and the lady at the counter was chopping vegetables, ladling out my soup and handling the customers and handling the cash. No seating. Just takeout. The food is cheap for New York and it's decent value if you don't want to spend much to fill your stomach.

This is my go to place every time for Chinese takeout!!! My favorite dish is the beef and broccoli with white rice. I rely on their efficiency whenever I have to order ahead for a large orders.
