Customer feedback offers valuable insights into the dining experience at Fu Wah | Chinese Restaurant. The available reviews highlight both strengths and areas where customer experiences have varied.

One enthusiastic reviewer proclaims "Chinese food done right!!" and specifically mentions that they "will go out of my way just for their BBQ spare ribs," indicating this dish is a standout favorite. They also praise the "great spice on noodles," suggesting that Fu Wah offers well-seasoned and flavorful options. This initial review paints a picture of high-quality Chinese cuisine with particular highlights.

An update from another reviewer provides a more nuanced perspective. While they clarify that they "didn't get food poisoning as someone else described" (a comment not directly provided but alluded to), they did report experiencing "some of the worst gas" after eating at Fu Wah, which caused discomfort for their family. As a result, they state that eating at Fu Wah again would be "a compromise," suggesting a trade-off between the enjoyment of the food and potential digestive consequences.

A third reviewer expresses a fondness for Fu Wah's "chicken and broccoli," indicating this is a dish they regularly enjoy. However, they point out a specific area for improvement regarding the inclusion of sauces with orders. They note that they have both used a delivery service ("door dashed") and picked up food in person and found that soy sauce or duck sauce was not included unless specifically requested. This suggests that customers may need to explicitly ask for these common condiments when placing their orders.

Based on these reviews, Fu Wah | Chinese Restaurant seems to be known for certain dishes like their BBQ spare ribs and potentially their spicy noodles, which are highly praised by at least one customer. The chicken and broccoli is another popular choice. However, there are mentions of potential digestive issues for some individuals and an inconsistency in the inclusion of standard sauces with takeout and delivery orders.

Information regarding the specific environment or ambiance of Fu Wah | Chinese Restaurant is not detailed in the provided reviews. Typically, Chinese restaurants aim to create a comfortable setting for diners, which can range from casual to more formal. Without further information, it is difficult to describe the atmosphere of Fu Wah.

In terms of services, the reviews indicate that Fu Wah offers both takeout and potentially delivery through third-party services like DoorDash. The reviewer who picked up food in person suggests that they also have a dine-in option, although this is not explicitly stated. The issue raised about the missing sauces applies to both delivery and pickup orders, implying a need for customers to be proactive in requesting them.

Features that might characterize Fu Wah include their highly regarded BBQ spare ribs and the well-spiced noodles. The mention of a specific dish like chicken and broccoli also suggests they offer standard American-Chinese fare. However, the lack of automatic inclusion of common sauces could be seen as a distinguishing characteristic, albeit one that some customers find inconvenient.

Promotional information is not included in the provided reviews. Many restaurants offer specials, discounts, or combination meals to attract customers. To find out if Fu Wah | Chinese Restaurant currently has any promotions, it would be advisable to check local advertising, their website (if they have one), or inquire when contacting them by phone.

In conclusion, Fu Wah | Chinese Restaurant in Richmond, VA, appears to be a local spot with some standout dishes like their BBQ spare ribs and spicy noodles, along with a popular chicken and broccoli option. Customers have experienced both positive aspects, such as the quality and taste of certain dishes, and potential drawbacks, including possible digestive issues for some and the need to specifically request sauces with takeout and delivery orders. For those considering dining at or ordering from Fu Wah, it might be beneficial to inquire about the ingredients and preparation methods of dishes if digestive sensitivities are a concern, and to remember to request any desired sauces when placing an order for takeout or delivery. Chinese food done right!! Will go out of my way just for their BBQ spare ribs. Great spice on noodles too. Well done. Update: Didn't get food poisoning as someone else described but did have some of the worst gas that my family didn't appreciate. So, at this point, eating here again will just have to be a compromise.

Love their chicken and broccoli. Only thing I wish is that they included soy sauce or duck sauce with their orders. I’ve door dashed fu wah and asked for sauce, and picked up food and had no sauce included. I guess you have to ask.

The "beef" was orange in color, and had a really strange liver taste. I couldn't eat it. Ended up giving the whole thing to my dogs. The shrimp toast was burnt on the outside, but wet and uncooked on the inside. I was super disappointed. I wish I had read the previous reviews before ordering from here. I won't eat here again. The staff is really nice though.

I asked for Mongolian beef and specifically asked to go LIGHT on mixed vegetables n scallions. To my surprise they did exactly the opposite. Very disappointed that I am eating this late and open up something I did not ask for. There is literally no beef. I know times are tough but if ur prices increase don’t screw me on the order

I really was not happy and I had high hopes for this place. The food really had no flavor to it and they left out one of my veggie egg rolls (I paid for two). I had to dispute the charges with my credit card company to get a refund. The French fries were actually very good, but the rest of my order was not. Additionally, the experience of picking my order was awkward and uncomfortable. As soon as you walk in the door, 3 non-english-speaking people glare at you as if you just ruined their night. They were so rude to me. Learn a little common decency if you want to stay in business! In America, you're supposed to be glad that the customer showed up to give you money. Also, good luck getting tips when you treat customers so poorly.
