About Fortune Garden

Fortune Garden, located at 201 University Oaks Blvd #730 in Round Rock, Texas, operates as a "Chinese Restaurant" that also offers Vietnamese cuisine, providing a diverse menu for local users. With contact numbers (512) 218-1525 and +1 512-218-1525, this establishment has received mixed feedback from customers regarding its food and dining environment. While some patrons have praised the quality and quantity of the food, others have raised concerns about the behavior of employees within the dining area.

One customer shared a positive experience, detailing a dinner that included several dishes. They enjoyed the **General Tso's Chicken** (or a similarly named dish), which their husband liked, and the **Orange Chicken**, which their daughter enjoyed. Notably, this reviewer also ordered a Vietnamese dish featuring grilled pork, egg meatloaf, fried egg, and vegetables (though the specific name was not recalled), and found it to be good. Additionally, they tried the **steamed dumplings**, a "crunchy pastry with crab inside," and the **wonton soup**, all of which contributed to a substantial meal. This customer emphasized the "large portions," noting that they took three boxes of leftovers home, and expressed their intention to return.

The positive review highlights several features of Fortune Garden. The diverse menu, encompassing both Chinese and Vietnamese options, caters to a broader range of tastes. The generous portion sizes offer good value for money, often resulting in leftovers for customers to take home. The quick service, with the food arriving within five minutes of ordering, suggests efficiency in the kitchen. The variety of dishes ordered by this customer, all reported as good, indicates a certain level of quality across different menu items.

However, another review presents a significant concern regarding the environment of Fortune Garden. This customer reported observing employees who were "too comfortable in the dining area," leading to disruptive and unpleasant experiences. Specific issues mentioned include employees "listening to loud YouTube videos" and generally being more bothersome than delivery drivers who might also frequent the area. The reviewer felt that this casual behavior from employees in proximity to paying customers was inappropriate and noted that this was not an isolated incident, having occurred "nearly every time I’ve eaten here." This repeated observation suggests a consistent issue with the management or enforcement of employee conduct within the customer dining space.

The stark contrast between the positive feedback on the food and the negative feedback on the employee behavior in the dining area paints a complex picture of Fortune Garden. While the food itself appears to be well-received by some customers, the atmosphere created by the employees' casual conduct is a significant detractor for at least one patron. This aspect of the environment could potentially impact the overall dining experience for other customers as well.

Regarding services, Fortune Garden undoubtedly offers dine-in options, as indicated by both reviews describing eating at the restaurant. The quick food delivery mentioned in the positive review suggests efficient kitchen and serving staff. It is also highly likely that Fortune Garden provides takeout services, given that most Chinese restaurants in this category do. The large portions, which resulted in leftovers, further support the likelihood of takeout being a common practice. However, there is no mention of delivery services in the provided reviews.

The features of Fortune Garden include its dual-cuisine menu (Chinese and Vietnamese), large portion sizes, and potentially quick service. The steamed dumplings with a crunchy crab pastry seem to be a noteworthy appetizer. The availability of classic Chinese dishes like General Tso's Chicken and Orange Chicken, alongside Vietnamese options, provides a wider appeal. However, the reported casual and disruptive behavior of employees in the dining area is a significant negative feature that detracts from the overall experience.

There is no promotional information available in the provided customer reviews. Local users interested in Fortune Garden would need to check local advertisements, online platforms, or contact the restaurant directly to inquire about any current specials or promotions.

In conclusion, Fortune Garden in Round Rock, TX, offers a diverse menu of Chinese and Vietnamese dishes with a reputation for large portions and tasty food, as highlighted by one positive review. However, a recurring issue raised by another customer is the unprofessional and disruptive behavior of employees within the dining area, which significantly impacts the atmosphere. Potential customers should weigh the positive feedback on the food and service speed against the negative feedback on the environment when considering dining at Fortune Garden. It may be prudent to visit and observe the environment firsthand to determine if it aligns with their expectations for a pleasant dining experience.

We had dinner tonight and the food was great. Had generals Taos chicken? (I think that’s what’s called) husband liked it, my daughter had the orange chicken and I had a Vietnamese dish with grilled pork, egg meatloaf, fried egg and veggies (can’t remember the name 🥹). Everything was good and it arrived within 5-minutes. Oh I also had the steamed dumplings, some crunchy pastry with crab inside, and wonton soup!! As you can see it was a lot of food! We took 3 boxes home. Large portions for sure!! Will be back

Employees are too comfortable in the dining area. Very disruptive and gross. Listening to loud YouTube videos and generally just being more annoying than all the door dash drivers that do the same thing. Employees should not be this casual in the dining area next to paying customers. This has happened nearly every time I’ve eaten here, This was not a rare occasion.

Great lemongrass dishes, I love the consistency of the pepper heat and freshness of the ingredients. All of the non breaded and fried dishes have been spot on for years for my family. Being from Houston originally means we have opinions on Vietnamese food and they have always been a good meal for us.

We called in an order about 20 minutes before they were closing. The lady was a little rude on the phone which I've never experienced before. We only ordered wonton soup and combination fried rice 😋 which is normally delicious. But this time the food was cold and stiff like it had been sitting out for a while. I was a little sad because we had never had this type of food come from here 😭 I'm hoping you all just had a bad day which is understandable but you should always strive to provide great service at all times.

I do not know if the cooks at Fortune Garden were having a personal bad day, but the experience I had was not pleasant. We ordered Salt and Pepper Tofu, General Tso's Chicken (Lunch), Beef Lo Mein, and some egg rolls. First off, the Salt and Pepper Tofu was overcooked to the point that it resembled styrofoam. It was hard and unfortunately, I can tell that it would have tasted decent if it was fried for the correct amount of time. It was inedible. Second was the General Tso's Chicken (Lunch). The sauce was okay, but the chicken was dry and overcooked as well. The Hot and Sour soup that came with it tasted like it has been in a unregulated vat since the previous day. Overly slimy and no flavor. I received egg rolls with the lunch meal and they were undercooked. I decided to air fry them so they are crispy, and they ended up tasting flavorless. Lastly, the Beef Lo Mein..... I do not understand how 2/3 dishes that we received taste like nothing. It taste like sad. Like someone is having a bad day or month or life. Whoever was cooking today definitely showed their feelings through the food today, because it made me sad. The quality probably reduced due to being takeout, but if the food was seasoned and cooked properly, I do not think the quality would go down that much. Maybe I'll try again, but I was left disappointed and had to reach out to my delivery service for assistance. 😩😩
