Fortune Buffet

With all you can eat Sushi the price of entry is the cost of one plate. Have been going here for years, the food hasn’t changed, it constantly being filled and refreshed. The staff work hard and quietly. Many of the customers like they are in training for weight lifting as you watch them stagger back to their seats with mountainous plates.

Such a waste of $55 for two. I really wish I had read the reviews before deciding to eat here. Must pay and tip first before entering. As a restaurant manager I feel a tip is not obligated but earned based on attentiveness and overall experience. I tipped generously so the staff was nice. However we were sat in a dark corner right next to the cleaning supplies with a bucket of dirty water and rags. When I requested to sit elsewhere she told me no. The booths and tables are worn out and sticky and there was not a single clean or safe high chair for my one year old out of the 6 they had. There is no music playing so guest seat in awkward silence. Food was very cold and tasted absolutely horrible from the rice to the dumplings. Literally the worst chinese food Ive ever had. After one plate my wife and I left immediately and were still hungry. I honestly feared getting sick after I left. I dont imagine this place being open much longer especially if the health department drops in.

Food was okay and everything was available when we visited. Atmosphere was clean and well lit. Servers were rude at best. Came over to get plates as soon as we finished them, but would just reach and grab stuff off other parts of the table without asking if we were done. We would say “thank you” and get no acknowledgment, smile, or even eye contact. Treated us like it was an inconvenience that we were there. As SOON as we stood to leave, the server practically ran over and looked at the table as we stood to put our coats on. She then looked at me in the face for the first time and said “tips are not included in the cost of the buffet”. We were going to leave a tip, as we do everywhere we dine. But this rude demand and call out was so unnecessary, especially for the level of crap customer service we received. Will not return.

I went here for lunch because I wanted to see if any of those bad reviews were true. I especially thought all of the reviews about tipping were pretty funny and was so curious to see for myself. Although it would have made this review much more funny, no one pressured me to tip. I did tip because the server was attentive with my drink and plates. The food was really good for Chinese buffet. Fresh and hot and a good variety. The sushi, although basic, was fresh and good as well.

Was rushed 15 minutes into being there, then chased down because we didn't leave a big enough tip (no joke) was told that they don't make living wages by the manager and staff, in front of the entire restaurant! I hardly ever leave a review, but this was probably the worst experience I've ever had. Waitress only stopped once at the table., to clear pates at the end, no drink refills. Save you money and go somewhere else. I will never return to that establishment.
