About Forever Taste
Forever Taste is a Chinese restaurant situated at 27 Rutgers St in New York City. As part of the Chinese Restaurant category, Forever Taste has received feedback highlighting its affordability and the quality of its food.
One customer reported a very positive experience, noting the "great food and super cheap" prices. For $49, they enjoyed a substantial meal consisting of 8 dishes and 4 cups of tea, with enough leftovers to take home. They also mentioned that while the interior was cold and the service very basic, the good owners and great food made for a fun experience.
However, another customer recounted a negative experience with a delivery order. They received a bag with spilled soup, a pork chop submerged in the leaked broth, and dry noodles. Upon contacting the restaurant, they found the staff member dismissive, instructing them to return the entire order for a refund. The delivery driver was also reportedly defensive and blamed the customer for the spillage. Due to this unsatisfactory customer service, the reviewer stated they would not order from Forever Taste again, especially given the numerous dining options in Chinatown.
In summary, Forever Taste is presented as a very affordable Chinese restaurant with good food. However, potential customers should be aware of a reported negative experience regarding delivery and customer service.

I recently placed an order from Forever Taste, and upon receiving the delivery, I noticed the bag containing my soup had a large bubble at the bottom. Upon inspection, I discovered the soup had spilled, and a pork chop was submerged in the leaked broth. The noodles were completely dry. I contacted the restaurant to report the issue. While I have previously had positive experiences with them, the staff member who answered the phone was dismissive and instructed me to return the entire order for a refund. When the delivery driver returned, I pointed out the spillage and the driver became defensive, blaming me for the incident. I believe this was unacceptable, as the driver should have noticed the significant amount of liquid at the bottom of the bag during delivery. Given the high concentration of restaurants in Chinatown and this unsatisfactory customer service experience, I regrettably do not plan to order from Forever Taste, again.
Great food and super cheap! It was ofc cold inside and the simplest of simplest service. But we didn’t care because the owners were good and the food was great! For $49, we had 8 dishes and 4 cups of tea. We had more than enough that we took some leftovers home. It was so good and we had fun (despite the cold) 😅♥️
After being disappointed by North Dumpling I walked here to give it a try. CASH ONLY. Small mom & pop place. With more wide space & seating than most places. Cleaner than most. Seating for 12. Best prices in Manhattan. Open late. Closes @ midnight (Thurs-Sat). But you can call ahead to order or confirm open times. Closed Sundays. 12 steam dumplings for $4.50. They had sauce to go already made & had chopsticks. The pork & chive dumplings were juicy & I could also taste the ginger inside. Awesome. I didn’t really need sauce for them. I also ordered the shrimp dumplings with chili sauce they forgot the chili sauce (10 for $5.50) were ok, tasted light & fresh but could have used more filling. Next time I’ll see if they make my fried pork dumplings to order & ask for hot oil. She also handed me soy sauce packets & I had to ask for dumpling sauce!! Wish they already put it inside the order. Dumplings are all about the sauce! It was close to closing so I’ll let that slide. Definitely checking my order next time before I leave. Very close to the F train, quieter neighborhood late night (11:30pm). I prefer Forever Taste because of the taste, the sweeter soy vinegar sauce & the made to order style compared to North Dumpling on Essex St. Would definitely like to try other items next time.
Small wonton is amazing, probs the only place in nyc that has it, extensive menu with really affordable price. Great hole in a wall spot. Opens til midnight as well.
Everything was a 10/10. Also a plus that they open till 12am. The service was incredible and the owners truly value you as a customer. We got the cumin lamb face. She made the noodles by hand, amazing. We also got the marked wonton dumplings. The portion size and price of the food is unbeatable. It was only $15 for both the plates. We already ate half of it before I remembered to take a picture. Can’t wait to come back.
