I always order the chicken miso soup and it is my favorite ramen in the area. I did love their pork bao buns but they are always out of it now. I have been going here consistently and have enjoyed it! I did not like the cheese rangoons the sauce that goes with them is not like typical places with a pineapple sauce.
All have to say to start this review off is - COME HERE! It is worth to try it. If you are not familiar with the area there is street parking available. When you walk in, the employee working cash register greets you. You do order at the register and have the option to dine in or take it to go. During my time there the cashier was very nice and helpful for our first time. He explained the menu well and let me order twice since I decided after I ordered to order more food! The menu is the perfect size and so are the portions. Each dish we tried had so much flavor and the display was nice. Service overall was good and quick! Even sitting down they came to check on us twice! We absolutely enjoyed every single bite. Everything was so good that I do recommend it all! The Brussels sprouts was so good that honestly I didn’t want to share it! Highly recommend for vegan and gluten free options!
mid and overpriced. i would be more satisfied getting the orange chicken from Panda Express. and also the plastic forks for dine in? shorty what :(
Forbidden noodles' primarily culinary focus is Japanese Ramen and stir fry selections. The curry is good and tastes very much like the mild golden ramen brand Japanese curry that I make at home occasionally. The chicken and broccoli added to the standard rice and carrot/potato curry mixture were of good quality. The Tonkotsu had very good pork, and surprisingly, it included broccoli as well. The more common ramen garnishes of onions, baby bock choy, egg, naruto (fish cake), and seaweed were also in this bowl and tasted good. They have a cheese, steak, and jalapeño egg roll that was amazing, and yes, you should try one. Forbidden Noodles is a great addition to downtown La Grange and for this area, this is a good choice for ramen in the area. If you are searching for your favorite bowl of ramen anywhere around chicagoland, feel free to check my reviews of alternate ramen restaurant options.
The rice was really bad, have gotten better quality out of frozen stuff at Jewel. Overall, everything looked like it was reheated and layered with oil. This place is the panda express of Ramen, and not in a good way.. chicken karagi was solid
