About Food To Go

Food To Go is a Chinese restaurant located in Rowland Heights, California, specializing in providing dim sum for takeout. As a part of the Chinese Restaurant category, Food To Go caters to local users looking for a convenient way to enjoy dim sum at home or on the go. While the specific street address is not provided (only Rowland Heights, CA 91748, USA), this establishment has garnered attention from local customers for its food quality, particularly its dim sum offerings.

Based on customer reviews, Food To Go has established itself as a "solid place to get dim sum on the go." This suggests that the restaurant focuses primarily on takeout service, catering to individuals and families looking for a quick and tasty meal option. The mention of dim sum indicates a specific niche within Chinese cuisine, known for its variety of small, savory and sweet dishes, typically served steamed, fried, or baked.

One recurring theme in the reviews is the importance of timing when visiting Food To Go. Customers have noted that arriving early, especially on weekdays, is crucial to ensure the availability of the full selection of dim sum. There is a "high probability" of items being sold out if one arrives after 3 PM on a weekday. This suggests that popular items are prepared in limited quantities and are quickly depleted as the day progresses. For local users planning to visit Food To Go, it is highly recommended to do so earlier in the day to avoid disappointment.

The video referenced in one of the reviews, which was based on a Wednesday morning visit at 9:30 AM, illustrates a less busy period. At this early hour, the hot food might not even be fully available yet, indicating that the peak activity likely occurs later in the day. This further reinforces the advice to arrive early for the best selection and a less crowded experience.

Service at Food To Go appears to be a point of contention among customers. One reviewer explicitly states that the place would receive a much lower rating if it were based on service. Another review mentions a potential for some clerks to speak in a manner that might seem like "yelling" when informing customers that an item is sold out ("No More"). The reviewer humorously attributes this to a "traditional Chinese dim sum establishment" experience. This suggests that while the food quality is appreciated, the customer service might not always meet the expectations of all patrons, particularly if they are not accustomed to a more direct or abrupt style of communication.

Despite the concerns about service, the quality of the food is consistently praised. One reviewer states that "the quality of the food in my opinion is very solid and tasty." This suggests that the primary draw of Food To Go is the flavor and authenticity of its dim sum. For customers prioritizing good food over exceptional service, especially in a takeout setting, Food To Go remains a viable option.

Pricing is another factor mentioned in the reviews. One customer noted that "prices have gone up" on dim sum. Additionally, it is explicitly stated that "prices are even higher on weekends." This indicates that local users can expect to pay a premium if they choose to purchase dim sum from Food To Go on Saturdays and Sundays. To potentially save money, it is recommended to do your shopping on a weekday if possible. For those who can only visit on weekends, arriving very early might not only improve the chances of getting a full selection but also potentially avoid the peak crowds.

One specific disappointment mentioned by a customer was the lack of chili crisp oil, a popular condiment often requested with dim sum. The fact that Food To Go does not offer this could be a drawback for some customers who enjoy this particular flavor enhancement with their meal.

In summary, Food To Go in Rowland Heights offers a reliable option for those seeking dim sum for takeout. The quality of the food is generally considered solid and tasty, making it a popular choice among locals. However, potential customers should be aware of a few key factors. Firstly, arriving early, especially on weekdays before 3 PM, is crucial to ensure the availability of the desired dim sum items. Weekends tend to be busier with higher prices, making weekday visits preferable if possible. Secondly, the service experience might not be exceptional for all, with some customers noting instances of abrupt communication. Lastly, specific condiments like chili crisp oil may not be available.

For local users in Rowland Heights looking for a convenient and generally well-regarded dim sum takeout option, Food To Go is worth considering. By planning their visit for a weekday and arriving early, customers can likely enjoy the best selection and potentially better prices. While the service might be perceived as less polished by some, the focus on the quality of the dim sum remains a significant draw for many.

Given the available information, Food To Go's primary feature is its consistent food quality in the realm of dim sum takeout. The service is functional but not necessarily a highlight. The environment is likely geared towards efficient takeout service rather than an elaborate dine-in experience, though no specific details are provided. There is no promotional information available, but the advice to visit early on weekdays suggests a strategy to get the best value and selection. Local users seeking a dependable source for dim sum to enjoy at home should consider Food To Go, keeping in mind the recommendations regarding timing and potential service style.

This is one of the most solid places to get dim sum on the go but if you arrive anytime after 3 PM on a weekday there is a high probability that there could be something that you’re looking for that is sold out already. The video on this is based on coming here on a Wednesday at 9:30 AM. As you could see it is not busy at all and the hot food is not even out yet due to it being so early. If you arrive too late and ask for something that’s not available there is a potential that some of the clerks will speak to you and it might seem like they’re yelling at you that there is “No More” 😳😂😳😂😳😂 so if you are not used to clerks yelling at you welcome to traditional Chinese dim sum establishment 😳😂😳😂😳😂. This place will get a much lower rating if it was based on service but the quality of the food in my opinion is very solid and tasty. So get here early and avoid the madness, especially on the weekends. Prices are even higher on weekends so it is highly recommended to do your shopping on a weekday if possible and really early on the weekend if you want to not deal with lots of people.

Great for dim sum and Chinese cuisines. Coming here with family for dim sum for our brunch and dinner in the evening. The foods taste good and plenty of choices to choose from. The staff have a good knowledge about their menu. If you don't know what to order, just ask the staff. They always make good suggestion on dishes. Will definitely suggest this place to my friends.

I tried to buy some Chinese food yesterday. But the right side combination food section serving woman was so rude!! I ordered a small container fish dish, but she was put full of cabbage and 3 small broken fish pieces. She tried to rip me off!! So I walked away. I'll never gonna go again. Bad service!!!!
