About Foliage Garden

Foliage Garden is a Chinese restaurant located at 6014 Park Ave in West New York, New Jersey. Serving the local community, Foliage Garden operates within the Chinese restaurant category, offering a range of dishes for takeout. Customers can place orders or make inquiries by calling (201) 869-6911 or +1 201-869-6911. Based on the limited customer feedback available online, experiences at Foliage Garden appear to be varied, with some customers highlighting positive aspects such as affordability and portion sizes, while others express significant concerns regarding food quality and hygiene practices.

One customer described Foliage Garden as a "really nice place," praising its cheap prices relative to the large portions of food offered. This reviewer also noted the politeness and niceness of the staff and mentioned that their order was prepared quickly, without a long wait. This positive feedback suggests that Foliage Garden may appeal to customers seeking value for money, generous serving sizes, and efficient, courteous service.

However, another customer shared a starkly contrasting and highly negative experience. This reviewer recounted a substantial order exceeding $90, which they found to be "completely covered in oil," resulting in illness. They specifically criticized several dishes, including the spicy wontons, which they described as tasteless, and the egg wonton soup, which they found to be excessively slimy. Furthermore, this customer raised serious concerns about the restaurant's food handling practices, alleging that they observed bbq ribs being left out of refrigeration before cooking. They detailed an incident where a staff member reportedly took ribs that had been sitting out for an extended period and placed them in the oven, followed by taking out more ribs from the refrigerator. This observation led the customer to feel that the restaurant's practices were unsanitary. Despite bringing these concerns to the attention of a staff member, the reviewer stated that their feedback was ignored. They concluded by expressing a preference for other Chinese takeout establishments that do not over-saturate their food with oil.

The significant discrepancy between these two reviews makes it challenging to form a definitive overall assessment of Foliage Garden based solely on this limited information. The positive review suggests potential strengths in terms of pricing, portion sizes, and customer service speed and politeness. These could be attractive factors for local users looking for a budget-friendly takeout option.

On the other hand, the negative review raises serious red flags regarding food quality, particularly the excessive oiliness of the dishes, and alarming allegations about potentially unsanitary food handling practices. Such concerns about food safety and preparation could be a significant deterrent for many customers. The fact that the customer claimed their feedback was dismissed further compounds the negative impression.

Without additional reviews or information about the restaurant's environment, specific services offered (beyond takeout), or any unique features, it is difficult to provide a comprehensive introduction. The available feedback does not mention the ambiance of the establishment, the availability of dine-in options (though the focus seems to be on takeout), or any signature dishes that might be particularly noteworthy. The lack of information regarding the menu also limits the ability to discuss the range and variety of their offerings.

Given the conflicting nature of the existing reviews, local users in West New York, NJ, should approach Foliage Garden with caution. The appeal of cheap prices and large portions might be attractive to some, but the serious allegations concerning food quality and potential hygiene issues raised in the negative review should not be disregarded. It would be prudent for potential customers to seek out more recent and a greater number of reviews from various online platforms to gain a broader perspective on the current state of Foliage Garden's food and service.

As no promotional information was included in the provided data, it is impossible to comment on any specials, discounts, or other incentives that Foliage Garden might be offering to attract customers. Local residents interested in learning about any promotions would need to contact the restaurant directly using the provided phone numbers: (201) 869-6911 or +1 201-869-6911. They could also inquire about the menu and any specific dishes that are popular or recommended.

In conclusion, Foliage Garden in West New York, NJ, is a Chinese restaurant that has received mixed reviews online. While one customer praised its affordability, large portions, and polite staff, another reported significant issues with excessively oily food and potentially unsanitary food handling practices. Due to this conflicting feedback and the serious nature of the negative allegations, local users are advised to exercise caution and seek additional information from other sources before deciding to order from Foliage Garden. The potential for budget-friendly meals with generous portions may be appealing, but the concerns raised about food quality and hygiene cannot be ignored.

My god father spent over 90$ on food to get everything completely covered in oil. It made us sick. Spicy wontons were tasteless. Egg wonton soup was so slimy, I wouldn’t even call it soup. Plus the bbq ribs they leave it out of the fridge before cooking. Aren’t you supposed to take it out of the fridge ? The lady in the front put 2 ribs in the oven that had been sitting out for a good period of time. Then she took out more from the fridge. Feels unsanitary. We spoke up but she didn’t pay no mind to what we said. I’ve eaten at better Chinese take outs that don’t over drench their food with oil.

Really nice place. The price is really cheap for such a big portion of such a good food. The personel is really polite and nice, and we didn’t have to wait long for the order.

This place changed because this is not garlic chicken. The food is bland on top of that the lo mein soup noodles are severely over soy sauce and does not taste good at all. I’m actually pretty aggravated over this because we spent $50 on all of this and I am not satisfied with the way it tastes. Will not order here again.
