About Flying Dragon Chinese Restaurant

Located at 1183 Morrison Ave in the Soundview neighborhood of the Bronx, New York, NY 10472, Flying Dragon Chinese Restaurant serves the local community with a range of Chinese culinary offerings. As a Chinese restaurant, its primary function is to provide a variety of dishes from the rich and diverse traditions of Chinese cuisine. While specific details about the restaurant's current ambiance are not extensively described in the available reviews, it is typical for such establishments to offer a casual dining environment for customers who choose to eat on the premises, in addition to their takeout and delivery services.

The services provided by Flying Dragon Chinese Restaurant likely include takeout and possibly delivery, as is common for many Chinese restaurants in urban areas. Customers can place orders by calling (718) 991-4530 or +1 718-991-4530. One positive review mentions enjoying the food, implying that both dine-in or takeout were options for this customer. However, another review, reflecting on the restaurant's history, suggests a potential shift in service quality over time. This review notes past popularity and mentions changes such as the removal of complimentary soda with combo meals and the absence of garlic on tostones (though tostones are more commonly associated with Latin American cuisine, their presence on the menu in the past suggests a broader culinary offering at one point). The same review also indicates current issues with customer service, such as a lack of mustard, and the need to request basic items like forks and napkins. To ascertain the full range of current services, including dine-in availability and delivery options, it is recommended to contact Flying Dragon Chinese Restaurant directly.

In terms of its features, Flying Dragon Chinese Restaurant's menu likely encompasses a variety of classic Chinese dishes. One specific item that received a positive mention in the reviews is the dumplings, which were described as "delicious" and highly recommended by a customer. This suggests that their dumpling preparation is a notable feature. However, the historical review implies potential changes in food quality over the years, which could impact the current features of their menu. The mention of tostones in the past, even without garlic, hints at a possible inclusion of non-traditional items or a broader menu in previous years. To gain a clear understanding of the current menu, including any specialty dishes or changes that may have occurred, it would be best to inquire directly with the restaurant or consult any online menus if available.

The limited customer feedback presents a contrasting view of Flying Dragon Chinese Restaurant. One recent review expresses satisfaction with both the food and the service, specifically highlighting the delicious dumplings. This suggests that positive experiences are still possible at the restaurant. However, another review offers a historical perspective, indicating that the restaurant was once "very good and popular" in the 1980s and 90s but has since declined in quality and service. This reviewer points out specific negative changes, such as the elimination of a free soda with combo meals, issues with the preparation of certain items (lack of garlic on tostones), the absence of certain condiments (mustard), and a perceived decline in both customer service and food quality, evidenced by the need to ask for basic utensils. This historical context is important for local users who may have past experiences with the restaurant and are considering a return visit, as well as for new customers who rely on recent feedback.

Promotional information for Flying Dragon Chinese Restaurant is not included in the provided reviews. It is common for Chinese restaurants to offer various promotions to attract customers, such as lunch specials, combination deals, or discounts on certain days or for specific order amounts. To find out if Flying Dragon Chinese Restaurant currently has any special offers or promotions, it would be advisable to contact the restaurant directly via phone or check if they have any online presence, such as a website or social media pages, where such information might be posted. Local coupon websites or community forums could also be potential sources of promotional details.

In conclusion, Flying Dragon Chinese Restaurant, located at 1183 Morrison Ave in the Bronx, NY, offers Chinese cuisine with takeout and likely dine-in services. While one recent customer praised the food and service, particularly recommending the dumplings, another review suggests a decline in food quality and customer service compared to its past reputation. Potential customers should be aware of these varying perspectives. To obtain the most current information regarding their menu, services, including delivery options, and any ongoing promotions, it is recommended to contact Flying Dragon Chinese Restaurant directly at (718) 991-4530 or +1 718-991-4530.

Back in the 80’s and 90’s this restaurant was very good and popular in the sound view neighborhood.now not so much they took away the free soda with combo and no garlic on tostones. They carry no mustard and you have to beg for forks and napkins. Customer service and food quality are not good.

This was an awful experience. My order was about 50 dollars. I asked if it came with a free soda or anything, the lady said no. I said ok fine. My husband didn’t want his sauced wings touching his noodles. I asked her if she could just put the wings in a bag instead of on the tray. She said she would have to charge me separately for each order. At that point I was disgusted. The service was absolutely terrible. I requested my money back and went to a nearby Chinese restaurant and had no issues and a free soda. These people are over charging and treating their paying customer like trash. Highly DO NOT recommend.

I wanted to try the place out of curiosity and was certainly not disappointed. In my first time, I had fried chicken gizzards over plain fried rice and a side order of onion rings. The rice was well prepared, the gizzards were fried just right as well as the onion rings. For a second time, I ordered a sesame chicken combo with a choice of chicken fried rice and egg roll. I liked everything about this order except for the amount of broccoli as I only had two small ones on the plate. The egg roll had a nice flavor and the sesame chicken had a light touch of sweetness. I wouldn't recommend staying too long during winter season as the place is not well insulated and it accumulates a lot of cold air inside. Aside from that, it's a cool place with lots of choices to try.

First & last time ordering from here dont get me wrong the food was good. They dont have paper menus just online menus not a problem but the prices are wrong or they over charged me. I ordered two combo's one said $6.75 the other said $6.95 & it came out too $21.25 also the they was the smallest combo's i ever seen & no free soda. I normally get full from a combo that i eat my egg roll like two hours later or the next day but this time i ate it right after & was still hungry. I should have just cooked dinner instead of wanting to take a day off.
