About Flower Lounge

Welcome to Flower Lounge, a Chinese restaurant located at 2033 MacArthur Blvd, Oakland, CA 94602, USA. As a part of the Chinese Restaurant category, Flower Lounge serves the local community in Oakland and the wider East Bay area, primarily focusing on takeout services. They can be contacted at (510) 530-0681 or +1 510-530-0681.

Based on the limited customer reviews available, Flower Lounge presents a somewhat mixed picture. One reviewer expressed a strong positive sentiment, particularly regarding their takeout experience. This customer highlighted several dishes as being exceptional. They claimed that Flower Lounge has "the best hot and sour soup in the Bay Area," noting that it includes both chicken and shrimp, a detail that distinguishes it from other versions. The reviewer also praised their fried rice and the freshness and perfect cooking of the vegetables they regularly order. Furthermore, they commended the staff as being "very thoughtful," suggesting a positive and considerate customer service experience.

This positive review also mentioned the ordering system, noting that it seems to rely solely on phone calls, as they don't believe there is an online ordering system. Despite this potential inconvenience, the reviewer concluded that the quality of the food makes it "definitely worth it," indicating a high level of satisfaction with their takeout meals from Flower Lounge.

However, another customer shared a significantly negative experience. This reviewer ordered the orange chicken, with the expectation that it would be better and fresher than a nearby alternative. Unfortunately, they found the dish to be "so hard to eat," suspecting that it had been reheated and then had sauce poured over it. Additionally, they reported receiving "two day-old fried chicken," which they deemed "no good." This strongly negative experience led the reviewer to vow never to return to Flower Lounge, citing concerns about the freshness and quality of certain dishes.

The contrasting nature of these two reviews makes it difficult to form a definitive overall assessment of Flower Lounge based solely on this limited information. The positive review suggests that some dishes, like the hot and sour soup, fried rice, and vegetable preparations, are of high quality and that the staff is thoughtful. This might indicate that Flower Lounge has certain strengths and popular items on its menu.

On the other hand, the negative review raises serious concerns about the freshness and preparation methods of at least some of their dishes, specifically the orange chicken and fried chicken. The accusation of reheating food and serving day-old items is a significant issue that could deter potential customers. It's possible that the quality and consistency of food at Flower Lounge may vary, or that different dishes are prepared to different standards.

The limited information does not provide any details about the environment of Flower Lounge. Since both reviews focus on takeout experiences, there is no mention of the dine-in ambiance or the overall atmosphere of the restaurant itself. It remains unknown whether Flower Lounge has a dedicated dining area or primarily operates as a takeout establishment.

Regarding services, the reviews indicate that takeout is a primary offering. One reviewer mentioned that ordering seems to be done via phone call, suggesting a more traditional approach to order placement rather than modern online systems. There is no information about whether Flower Lounge offers delivery services. The positive comment about the "thoughtful" staff implies that the service during order placement and pickup is likely pleasant and helpful.

As there are only two reviews, and they present conflicting experiences, it is impossible to identify specific features that consistently define Flower Lounge. The potential strengths appear to be their hot and sour soup and fresh vegetable dishes, while a significant concern is the potential for serving reheated or day-old food. More customer feedback would be needed to establish a clearer understanding of the restaurant's typical offerings and quality.

Similarly, there is no information about any promotional offers or special deals at Flower Lounge. Restaurants often have daily specials or discounts to attract customers, but these are not mentioned in the provided reviews. Local users interested in potential promotions should contact the restaurant directly to inquire.

In summary, based on the limited and conflicting customer feedback, Flower Lounge in Oakland is a Chinese restaurant primarily serving takeout. It receives praise for its hot and sour soup, fried rice, fresh vegetables, and thoughtful staff. However, there are also serious concerns raised about the freshness and preparation of other dishes, such as the orange chicken and fried chicken. Potential customers should be aware of these mixed reviews when considering ordering from Flower Lounge. To learn more about their menu, services, and any potential promotions, it is advisable to contact the restaurant directly at (510) 530-0681 or +1 510-530-0681, or visit their location at 2033 MacArthur Blvd in Oakland.

We love getting take out from the Flower Lounge. They have the best hot and sour soup in the Bay Area, that includes chicken and shrimp. We love their fried rice and we regular get a vegetable. All the vegetables taste fresh and are cooked perfectly. The staff is very thoughtful. I don’t think they have an order system, you just have to call in, but it’s definitely worth it.

I odered the orange chicken, thinking that this place would be better and fresher than the place around the corner, but it was so hard to eat, i think they reheated it and dumped sauce on it. They gave us two day-old fried chicken. No good! Never going back!

The restaurant is definitely no frills. Looks like it mainly caters to take out. The staff is very friendly. We got the chow mein which was good and came quickly. We also got the lemon shrimp which was pretty standard. The rice was sub par. It was kinda stale. The dumplings were pretty good. We also got the pot stickers which were huge and probably too similar to the dumplings. The price was definitely right. Cost half as much as eating out at almost any other restaurant.
