About Five Spices House

Five Spices House is a Chinese restaurant located at 58 Beach St #2017 in Boston, MA, situated within the Chinatown area. They can be contacted at (617) 574-8888 or +1 617-574-8888.

Based on customer reviews, Five Spices House appears to offer a varied experience. One reviewer felt the restaurant's rating might be understated, suggesting it deserves a 4.4 to 4.5-star rating. They particularly praised the crab rangoons, considering them among the top 10 they've had. This customer also found the beef with broccoli to be moist and tender, and the sesame chicken to be crispy with a perfect mild sweetness. They recommended the restaurant to those seeking good Chinese food without the high prices of more upscale establishments.

However, another customer had a less favorable impression, stating that while the food was "decent enough," they would not return. Their specific criticism was that the buns contained very little meat, and they perceived the staff to be in a bad mood.

In summary, Five Spices House offers a selection of Chinese dishes, with the crab rangoons, beef with broccoli, and sesame chicken receiving positive feedback from one reviewer. However, another customer reported issues with the meat content in the buns and a negative perception of the staff's demeanor. Potential diners might find some highly recommended dishes but should be aware of the contrasting experiences reported by other customers.

Definitely not 3.9 star, probably a 4.4-4.5. Crab Rangoon are awesome (Top 10), beef with broccoli was moist and tender, sesame chicken is crispy and mildly sweet(perfect). If you a Chinese Food Snob go to a $40/plate place and leave great places like this to be explored by people like me.

Food is decent enough but I wouldn't come back here. Buns have almost no meat in them and the staff seems to be in a bad mood

All these people ragging on the prices might do themselves a favor and arrive before 4 for the lunch specials. I think it's 13.99 for a wide array of lunch dishes. I got the sezchuan twice cooked pork. I do hear what the other reviewers are saying about the saltiness of the dishes. Mine was absolutely soaked in oil to the point of excess but as most of the reviewers can attest, the flavor is strong. I was feeling like a big spender so I got an iced tea drink, which hit for sure. I think I'll be back next week for a different special for my afternoon job.

(4 1/2 stars) Really enjoyed our meal here. The pan fried pork buns were great! The steamed pork dumplings, king pao chicken, and beef with broccoli were all good. Pleasant and clean inside but you still get a bit of the old school feel. Fast service.

S-tier noodle soups. My wife ordered Szechuan beef noodle soup, and I got the ma la rice noodle soup with chicken. Soooooo good! It was raining outside, and the spicy soups gave us life! We ordered fried pork buns as an appetizer and they were 🤌
