Fish River Grill

My husband and I agreed this restaurant is one of the best we’ve ever ate at. You could tell right away a lot of locals eat there. He got the Bayou platter. I got the fish and shrimp. You get a small sampling of swamp soup to start followed by your meal that includes the BEST slaw, homemade hush puppies, fried okra, and fries as sides. The only bad thing o could say was they serve Pepsi products 😆 But I can overlook that for that delicious food!

It's a cool and chill place during the off-season, and quite busy busy during summer. Food is always good. I love the complementary Swamp Soup that comes with almost everything. But I'm from the south, and it reminds me of my grandma's. Service is always polite. Very casual. And it's old school charm. You gotta pay at the front. But don't forget to tip your server. They do a lot more than just take your order. My only suggestion is to always get the sauce on the side, no matter what dish you get, because some of them are not catered to specific tastes. To me, personally, I have never disliked a sauce, but I know picky eaters. Just be safe and sauce on the side!!! Oh, and by the way, if you're into bloody Mary's. This is a special one they serve. Always ask about drink specials too, my draft beer was only 2 dollars!

The food was good don’t get me wrong. But for 24$. I would expect more than 6 shrimps and 4 oysters. I got the Seafood basket and it defies not what I was expecting

First, let me start by saying that the food is amazing!! 10/10 BUT the staff... Not so much. I tried to call several times to place a pick up order. After no one answered, I figured they were busy and drove up there to order inside. They were dead! Only 2 tables in the whole restaurant. So I stood near the counter and called again. The girl who was standing at the counter looked at the phone and ignored it. I placed my order and didn't say anything about the phone but while I was waiting, called again just to see if someone would answer. Another girl walked up to the phone, waited until it stopped ringing, and then cleared the call log! I then watched as the first girl walked around playing on her cell phone. (Pictured) Like I said, the food is fantastic. But the staff they have running the front of house are terrible and are ultimately hurting the business.

Shrimp BLT is the best sandwich I’ve had in a decade! Fried shrimp, slice of fried green tomato, bacon, lettuce, Swiss cheese served on a warm toasty buttered bun. Off the charts good!!
