About First Chinese BBQ

Welcome to First Chinese BBQ, a well-regarded Chinese restaurant located at 5310 E Belknap St H in Haltom City, Texas (TX 76117, USA). As a prominent establishment in the Chinese Restaurant category, First Chinese BBQ is dedicated to providing local users with a satisfying and authentic Chinese dining experience. Whether you're craving familiar favorites or eager to explore new flavors, this restaurant offers a diverse menu and convenient service options.

Based on customer feedback, First Chinese BBQ is known for its consistently delicious and freshly prepared food. Diners frequently praise the quality and taste of their dishes, highlighting the fact that meals are served hot and maintain a consistent standard. This reliability in food quality has made First Chinese BBQ a regular dining choice for many in the Haltom City area.

The menu at First Chinese BBQ features a range of popular Chinese dishes. Among the highly recommended items are the Orange Chicken and Pork Soft Noodles. Customers have specifically noted the deliciousness of these dishes, making them strong contenders for your order. Additionally, the egg rolls at First Chinese BBQ are described as being "a little different but really good," suggesting a unique twist on this classic appetizer that is worth trying.

Beyond these specific mentions, the restaurant also offers other well-received dishes such as Sweet and Sour Pork, Hot Sour Soup, and BBQ Pork, all of which have been described as great by patrons. For those seeking a more diverse combination of ingredients, the "Happy Family" dish, a combination of vegetables and meat, is available. The Soft Noodle dish, also known as Chow Mein, is another offering on their menu.

It's worth noting a mixed review regarding the Peking Duck, which some customers found to be "a little gamey." This suggests that while many dishes are consistently praised, individual preferences may vary. For those with specific tastes regarding duck, this feedback might be helpful.

In terms of service, customer experiences appear to be somewhat varied. One reviewer noted a waiter who was "quick and nice," indicating positive aspects of the service staff. However, the same review mentioned a waitress who was perceived as "a bit rude and uninviting." This suggests that while some staff members provide excellent service, there might be inconsistencies in the overall customer service experience. It's always helpful to keep in mind that individual interactions can differ.

An important practical tip for potential diners is to remember that First Chinese BBQ primarily operates on a cash basis. One customer shared a personal experience of having to leave to find a Wells Fargo ATM in downtown Fort Worth due to not having cash. To avoid such inconvenience, it is highly recommended to bring cash for your meal. While the review doesn't explicitly state if other payment methods are accepted, the emphasis on the cash-only experience suggests it is the preferred or perhaps the only option.

First of all, remember to bring cash or you will need to leave your spouse while you drive towards downtown Ft Worth to the Wells Fargo drive through ATM, like I did. The food is always so delicious - hot, fresh and consistent. We had orange chicken and Pork soft noodles. The egg rolls are a little different but really good. It's become a regular for us.

Orange chicken, sweet and sour pork, hot sour soup, and bbq pork was great! The duck was a little gamey for all of us. The “happy family” (veggie/meat dish) and the soft noodle (chow mein) was ok. Waiter was quick and nice but the waitress was a bit rude and uninviting.

The waiter can do everything. I suppose you could hire another person, but he does the work of two people. He's the Asian Flash. The food was great and the service is very attentive.

I have loved my experiences at the Plano location, so I visited the Haltom City location to compare when I was in the North Fort Worth area. The restaurant is cash only. I dined in during lunch time on a Wednesday. Service was good. I enjoyed BBQ pork fried rice. I intend to return and order my First Chinese BBQ favorite: beef flat noodles (dry) [beef chow-fun]. The food I ordered was consistent with the Plano location.

One of the Metroplex's enduring Chinese chains. Love the wonton noodle soup. Always fresh, just the same as it has been for decades. They do Chinese-American classics really well too, like sesame chicken Mongolian beef. It's cash only, unpretentious, and welcoming.
