About Ferguson Chop Suey

Ferguson Chop Suey, located at 63 N Florissant Rd, St. Louis, MO 63135, USA, is a Chinese restaurant serving the local community. The restaurant can be reached by phone at (314) 521-8300 or through its mobile number, +1 314-521-8300. As a Chinese restaurant, Ferguson Chop Suey aims to provide a range of popular Chinese-American dishes to its patrons, offering a convenient option for those seeking Asian cuisine in the St. Louis area.

The environment of Ferguson Chop Suey, typical of many neighborhood Chinese takeout establishments, is likely functional and focused on efficiency. While specific details about the interior decor or a dedicated dining space are not extensively provided, such restaurants often prioritize quick service for both pickup and potential dine-in customers. The setting would generally be clean and maintained, designed to facilitate the rapid preparation and distribution of orders. Its location on N Florissant Rd suggests it is easily accessible for local residents and those passing through the area, potentially operating out of a smaller storefront in a strip mall.

In terms of services, Ferguson Chop Suey offers the core provisions expected from a Chinese restaurant. This typically includes takeout and potentially delivery services. The availability of phone numbers allows customers to place orders directly for pickup. Online listings also indicate that they may utilize third-party delivery platforms, enhancing customer convenience. Their operating hours are generally consistent throughout the week, often from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM or 9:30 PM on most days, with slightly extended hours on Fridays and Saturdays. Sundays might have slightly different hours or be closed; it's always recommended to confirm current operating hours directly with the restaurant or through their official online presence.

The features of Ferguson Chop Suey revolve around its menu of Chinese dishes. Customer reviews highlight a few specific items. The restaurant is noted by one customer for having "good rice," which is a fundamental component of many Chinese meals, suggesting a positive quality in this regard. Another customer mentioned that the "vegetable fried rice and shrimp egg foo young" are favorites, and the "crab rangoon is also delicious," pointing to these as strong menu highlights. The presence of the "St. Paul sandwich," a distinctive St. Louis specialty, further indicates a menu that caters to local tastes, combining an egg foo young patty with lettuce, pickles, and mayonnaise on white bread. This unique offering sets it apart from more generic Chinese menus. Other standard menu items likely include various appetizers, soups, noodle dishes (lo mein, mei fun), and main courses featuring chicken, beef, pork, and seafood prepared in common Chinese-American styles.

However, it is crucial to present a balanced view based on all customer feedback. Some customers have expressed concerns about specific menu items and aspects of the service. One reviewer found the "chicken wings are horrible," in their opinion. Another customer reported a significant issue with the protein content in their fried rice orders: a "large order of deluxe fried rice" had "only 2 shrimp in the entire container," and a "small shrimp fried rice" also contained "only 2 shrimp." This customer also noted that the rice itself was "just ok," with "no eggs and no bean sprouts," and "very little meat" overall. These comments suggest potential inconsistencies in portioning and ingredient inclusion for certain dishes, which could impact customer satisfaction.

A notable point of concern mentioned by a customer is that Ferguson Chop Suey charges a fee for using a debit card, recommending customers "taking cash" instead. This practice, if accurate, is an important piece of information for prospective diners regarding payment methods and potential additional costs. Many businesses absorb these fees, so it's a distinctive policy that customers should be aware of before placing an order.

Regarding promotional information, no explicit ongoing promotions or special deals for Ferguson Chop Suey are provided in the available details. However, like many local Chinese restaurants, they may offer lunch specials, combo meals, or family platters that provide good value. The emphasis on "good rice" and specific popular items like "crab rangoon" and "shrimp egg foo young" serves as an informal promotion through positive word-of-mouth. The stated good service, despite the payment fee, also contributes to a positive impression.

Customer service, despite some operational issues, is generally described as "good" by one reviewer, who also noted that "the wait time can be a little bit timely." This suggests that while the staff may be courteous, there might be periods of longer waits, especially during peak hours. One long-time customer praised the "good customer service" and even noted that the owner "knows most of his clients," indicating a personal touch and a strong relationship with their regular clientele. This level of familiarity can foster loyalty and a welcoming atmosphere, even if other aspects like efficiency or specific food items vary.

In conclusion, Ferguson Chop Suey in St. Louis, MO, is a local Chinese restaurant offering a range of classic dishes, with particular praise for its rice, vegetable fried rice, shrimp egg foo young, and crab rangoons, as well as the unique St. Paul sandwich. It operates primarily as a takeout establishment, with fast delivery services. While some customers have raised concerns about the quality of certain items like chicken wings and the quantity of protein in fried rice, and notably, a charge for debit card usage, the restaurant is also recognized for its good customer service and strong relationship with regular patrons. Prospective customers should be aware of the debit card fee and consider bringing cash. For those in the St. Louis area seeking a convenient Chinese meal, Ferguson Chop Suey offers a mix of popular dishes and a neighborhood-friendly atmosphere, with some standout items worth trying.

Ferguson chop suey does have good rice. I've eaten here several times. My problem with them is they charge you to us your own debit card,so I recommend taking cash. The chicken wings are horrible, in my opinion. The service is good. The wait time can be a little bit timely.

Do not go there. I had a large order of deluxe fried rice. I only had 2 shrimp in the entire container. I also ordered a small shrimp fried rice and again only had 2 shrimp in the container. That's so crazy because that little tiny shrimp is not that expensive. The rice is just ok. No eggs and no bean sprouts. Very little meat.

I haven't been to this restaurant in over 30 years when I first moved to Ferguson and I must say, the rice, crab rangoon, and and fried whole chicken wings were delicious! Friendly service and several methods of payment, which most Chinese restaurants only take cash!

Ordered special fried rice expecting to get green pepper with the other vegetables and meat but you have to add it extra. Lately when I buy Chinese from Ferguson it's full of added grease. #1 It's not healthy and loaded with sodium.
