When choosing a local Chinese restaurant, especially for takeout, many rely on the experiences of other customers to gauge the quality of the food and the efficiency of the service. Online reviews can provide valuable insights into these aspects, helping potential customers make informed decisions. It's important to consider that these are individual experiences and may not always reflect the opinions of every diner.
One customer review from vegetarian travelers who stopped by Feng's Garden highlights a positive experience with several of their vegetarian options. They ordered the vegetable chow mei fun, Szechuan-style bean curd, vegetable fried rice, and steamed white rice. The reviewers noted that the entrees were prepared quickly and served piping hot, and they found all the dishes to be delicious. They specifically praised the vegetable chow mei fun for its balanced salty and flavorful taste and recommended serving the Szechuan bean curd over rice. This positive feedback suggests that Feng's Garden offers well-prepared and flavorful vegetarian choices, which can be a significant feature for customers with dietary preferences.
This same reviewer also provided a note regarding the restaurant's ambiance. They described the decor as "utilitarian and fairly typical" of a strip mall Chinese takeout restaurant. However, they also pointed out that this is likely not a significant factor for most customers since they anticipate that the majority of orders will be taken to go. This suggests that Feng's Garden prioritizes the quality and speed of their food preparation over an elaborate dine-in environment.
Another customer review describes Feng's Garden as "a decent place" with "good food" and "service without so much delay." This reviewer also specifically mentioned their enjoyment of the General Tso's chicken, indicating that this popular dish is a highlight for them. This feedback reinforces the idea that Feng's Garden offers well-received food and efficient service, catering to those looking for a quick and satisfying meal.
Based on these reviews, Feng's Garden appears to be a Chinese restaurant that excels in providing quickly prepared, hot, and flavorful food, particularly suited for takeout. They offer a variety of dishes, including vegetarian options that have been positively reviewed. While the dine-in environment is described as basic, this seems to be a trade-off for the efficiency and quality of their food, which is the primary focus for many takeout customers. The positive mention of General Tso's chicken also suggests that they prepare popular American Chinese dishes well.
As a Chinese restaurant, Feng's Garden likely offers a standard menu of popular dishes, including a variety of stir-fried meats, seafood, and vegetables, along with rice and noodle dishes, soups, and appetizers. The specific mentions of vegetable chow mei fun, Szechuan bean curd, vegetable fried rice, and General Tso's chicken provide a glimpse into their offerings. Given the location in a shopping plaza, they likely cater to local residents and those passing through the area looking for a convenient meal.
The address in the Triangle Shopping Plaza in Dumfries, VA, suggests easy accessibility for those in the area. The provision of both a landline and a mobile phone number makes it convenient for customers to place orders for pickup. While the reviews primarily discuss takeout experiences, it is possible that Feng's Garden also offers a limited dine-in area, consistent with the "utilitarian" decor mentioned. However, the emphasis in the reviews is clearly on the quality and speed of their takeout service.
For local users in Dumfries, VA, and those in the surrounding areas looking for a reliable Chinese restaurant for takeout, Feng's Garden appears to be a strong contender. The positive reviews highlight the delicious food, quick preparation, and flavorful vegetarian options. While the dine-in ambiance may be basic, this is likely not a concern for those primarily interested in taking their food to go. The mention of good service without significant delays also suggests an efficient operation, which is crucial for takeout orders.
To get the most accurate and up-to-date information about Feng's Garden, including their complete menu, current hours of operation, and any potential specials or promotions, contacting them directly via phone at (703) 221-2255 or +1 703-221-2255 is recommended. In conclusion, Feng's Garden in Dumfries, VA, is a Chinese restaurant that has received positive feedback for its delicious and quickly prepared food, particularly its vegetarian options and General Tso's chicken. Customer Reviews
We stopped by here recently while traveling through town. Being vegetarians, we ordered the vegetable chow mei fun (thin rice noodles), the Szechuan-style bean curd, vegetable fried rice, and steamed white rice. The entrees were quickly made to order and came out piping hot. All were delicious! The vegetable chow mei fun was the right combination of salty and flavorful, while the Szechuan bean curd was best served over the rice. Note: the 5-star rating here is based solely on the quality of the food one might expect from a strip mall Chinese takeout restaurant. The decor of the restaurant itself is utilitarian and fairly typical. But if you're taking the food to go, as most will, then it's of no matter. :)
A decent place, good food, and service without so much delay. I definitely love how they do General Tso's chiken
I had the lunch special- General Tsos (not spicy) The meal was sub par. The rice was OK, but the chicken was hard to chew, stale and over sauced. Furthermore, I found a French fry in my meal…which made me not savor it as much. I do not recommend this place.
Hadn't ordered from here in about two months... Ordered a Pu-Pu platter because I wanted shrimp egg rolls, shrimp toast and ribs...what came was regular egg rolls..no shrimp toast some weird chicken in dough, beef on a stick and rib meat on a stick and 4 wontons that were so hard the dogs didn't even want them. I had also ordered two addn'l shrimp egg rolls. The shrimp rolls from here were to die for...crispy..delicious..now horrible..taste like their regular egg rolls that someone put a couple shrimp in... Seems like the cook has changed. Sad because I have ordered from here for over 20 years
Just ordered combination egg foo young, combination fried rice, wings, pork and shrimp egg rolls, crab Rangoon. The one star is simply because the crab Rangoon was good. As far as everything else when placing the order we even requested things to be seasoned and the rice was bland completely, wings were bland and soggy, and the egg rolls were salty I’ve never in my life had salty egg rolls until now. The egg foo young was overcooked had some burnt crunchy parts that probably wouldn’t have been bad had that been properly cooked. Complete waste of money and time. Even the delivery was late and this was as soon as the opened today. Will not be ordering from here again unless I only want crab Rangoon. If you want good Chinese food look for other options
