About Fan Tang Asian Cafe
Located at 10615 NE 68th St, Kirkland, WA 98033, USA, **Fan Tang Asian Cafe** offers a distinct dining experience with its focus on Hunan cuisine, particularly its noodle dishes. This establishment blends traditional flavors with a modern, almost self-service operational model, providing a unique option for Chinese food enthusiasts in the Kirkland area. You can reach Fan Tang Asian Cafe by phone at (425) 298-4597 or via mobile at +1 425-298-4597.
The **environment** at Fan Tang Asian Cafe is described as "pleasant and elegantly designed and very spacious." This suggests a more upscale and aesthetically pleasing setting compared to typical fast-casual Chinese eateries. Despite its sophisticated design, the restaurant incorporates elements of self-service, creating a comfortable yet efficient atmosphere. The spacious layout contributes to a relaxed dining experience, allowing patrons to enjoy their meals without feeling cramped. This combination of elegant design and practical self-service features makes it an inviting space for various dining occasions, from a quick solo lunch to a meal with friends or family.
The **services** at Fan Tang Asian Cafe operate on an "almost self-serving" model, which streamlines the ordering and dining process. Customers initiate their experience by signing in at a terminal to order and pay, giving them control over their selections and transaction. This system is efficient and reduces waiting times for placing orders. Furthermore, a "serve station for cutlery and vinegar etc." is available, allowing diners to conveniently access utensils, condiments, and extra sharing bowls and plates as needed. While much of the initial interaction is self-directed, servers still play a crucial role. They are responsible for bringing orders to the tables and cleaning up after customers are done. This hybrid service model aims to combine the efficiency of self-service with the comfort of having staff assist with delivery and post-meal clearing. The reasoning provided for collecting tips, given this model, is that "the servers will bring your order and clean after you are done," highlighting their ongoing role in the dining experience.
The **features** of Fan Tang Asian Cafe's cuisine revolve primarily around its Hunan-style noodles, which are known for their robust flavors and often a kick of spice. Customers have consistently praised the quality of their "pretty good Hunan cuisine noodles," noting the "Good portion" sizes and a "very generous" amount of meat. This focus on hearty and flavorful noodle dishes sets them apart. A particular favorite mentioned by reviewers is the **pork strip noodles**, which are noted for being "not spicy." This indicates that while Hunan cuisine often carries a reputation for spiciness, Fan Tang Asian Cafe also offers options that cater to those with a milder palate, ensuring a broader appeal. While the ability to customize spice levels is a complaint, the inherent flavor of the dishes is a strong point. The overall sentiment is that customers "all got full from the amount of the food we ordered," making it a recommended spot for satisfying meals. This emphasis on generous portions and flavorful, authentic Hunan noodles positions Fan Tang Asian Cafe as a strong contender for those seeking this specific culinary experience in the Kirkland area.
Regarding **promotional information**, Fan Tang Asian Cafe's unique service model and specialization in Hunan cuisine noodles serve as inherent draws. The consistent positive feedback on portion sizes and the generous amount of meat can be seen as an ongoing "promotion" by offering good value for money. The "elegant design" of the restaurant and its "very spacious" ambiance also contribute to its appeal, potentially attracting customers looking for a more refined yet casual dining experience. While no specific limited-time offers or loyalty programs are detailed, the restaurant's distinct operational approach and commitment to flavorful, substantial noodle dishes are key elements of its public offering. The convenient self-ordering system and readily available self-serve stations also act as attractive features for those who value efficiency and personal control over their dining experience. The main area for potential improvement and promotion, as highlighted by a customer, would be to introduce an "option to control how spicy your food would be," which could cater to an even wider audience and enhance customer satisfaction by allowing for personalized spice levels. Despite this, Fan Tang Asian Cafe stands out as a recommended destination for those in Kirkland seeking authentic Hunan noodles in a modern and efficient setting.

They make pretty good Hunan cuisine noodles. Good portion, the amount of meat was very generous. Our favourite was the pork strip noodles. I didn't end up taking a photo, that one is not spicy. There's a serve station for cutlery and vinegar etc, very convenient. We all got full from the amount of the food we ordered. Recommend!
It’s an almost self serving restaurant that you sign in at a terminal to order and pay. You also serve your own utensils and extra sharing bowls and plates at the station. It’s making sense to collect tips because the servers will bring your order and clean after you are done. The ambiance is pleasant and elegantly designed and very spacious. Only complaint is you have no option to control how spicy your food would be.
Authentic Chinese Hunan flavor. Consistent. I’ve been coming since last year when I learnt about this place. The service is mostly self-serve except serving food, so it’s not much different from a normal restaurant where the only extra service is getting water.
Pork (9/10) and spicy beef noodle soup (9/10) were both amazing. Noodles were very tender and fresh. Flavours very authentic. Pork flavour itself tasted like 鸭脖王 flavours!!
The food here is below average. Reminds me of airport food. We ordered and bunch and the only thing I found good was the chicken fried rice. The string beans were undercooked. The braised pork rice bowl had cold cooked veggies and raw salad mixed together. This is a self serve restaurant like the type at a food court but they will clean up the table. Annoyingly, there were no spoons, only forks, chopsticks, and soup spoons which made eating my fried rice more of a chore than necessary.
