About Fan-Fan

Fan-Fan is a Chinese Restaurant that appears to offer a varied dining experience, including rice bowls and a build-your-own hot pot option. Based on online reviews, it has implemented different pricing methods, with the current one being a weight-based system similar to frozen yogurt shops, where you select your food and pay by the ounce.

Environment: One reviewer mentioned that Fan-Fan is considered "the best Chinese restaurant on campus," suggesting a location possibly near an educational institution, though this might not be directly applicable to its presence in Singapore. Another observation was the use of a "sketch 3d concept art rendering" as the main photo online, which doesn't provide a clear picture of the actual restaurant environment.

Services: The service at Fan-Fan has been described positively by one reviewer as "outstanding," with friendly and attentive staff who make diners feel welcome. The service was also noted as "impressively fast," making it suitable for those needing a quick meal. However, another reviewer found the pricing per ounce confusing and ended up with a meal that felt somewhat expensive and not very filling. Fan-Fan also offers a midnight menu featuring a build-your-own hot pot, where ingredients are weighed before soup is added, priced at $9.99 per pound.

Features: Fan-Fan offers a variety of dishes, including rice bowls (with an option for inexpensive single or double servings of plain rice), orange chicken (described as "nice and sweet"), white fish (noted for its saltiness), and mapo tofu (mentioned as "good"). The standout feature seems to be the build-your-own hot pot available on the midnight menu, offering a customizable and potentially affordable meal option based on the weight of dry ingredients. The weight-based pricing for the regular menu allows customers to choose the quantity of each item.

Based on the online feedback, Fan-Fan offers a mix of familiar Chinese dishes and a unique build-your-own hot pot. The weight-based pricing for some items is a distinctive feature, though it might require some getting used to. Service seems generally positive, with fast and friendly staff mentioned. The midnight hot pot option appears particularly appealing for its customization and potential value.

Promotional Information: The reviews mention a "free food event" that included food from Fan-Fan, but no ongoing promotional information for Singapore locations is available. For the most current deals, special offers, or any promotions specific to Fan-Fan in Singapore, it would be advisable to check local food platforms or contact the restaurant directly.

In summary, Fan-Fan in Singapore presents itself as a Chinese Restaurant with a diverse menu, including rice bowls and a build-your-own hot pot, and a notable weight-based pricing system for some of its offerings. Customers can expect a range of dishes, from familiar favorites to a customizable hot pot experience during midnight hours. While service is generally praised, the weight-based pricing might require careful ordering to manage costs. For any current promotions or specific offerings in Singapore, please seek out local resources related to Fan-Fan.

They've gone through various pricing methods since they've opened. The current one (third version?) is certainly better than the previous one with the pre made bowls because now you can just pick and choose what you want, and they price you based on the weight, Yogurt World style. I have no idea what $0.79 per ounce means, so I tried to be conservative with what I got, but it ended up being $11 anyways. It wasn't super filling. I like that they have rice bowls for $1, two for $1.5. I like rice, and dining halls don't give a decent amount of good rice, so this is passable. There was a free food event with food from Fan Fan, but I didn't see many of the meat options I saw there. Whatever, maybe my eyes are bad. The orange chicken is nice and sweet and I also like the saltiness of the white fish and the mapo tofu is good too. What's truly interesting, though, is their midnight menu. I have yet to try it, but from what I observed and what other people there told me, it's a build your own hot pot where they charge based on the weight of the dry ingredients before they add soup. You put the ingredients in a wiped down bowl and then you wait with a buzzer until they add soup to it. It's $9.99/lb and I don't think I would get a pound of noodles, so this sets an upper limit of $10, which sounds like a great deal. I'll try it someday Also, why does Fan Fan have a sketch 3d concept art rendering of their place as a photo for this place 💀

We came here not super familiar with Fan-Fan and it's menu/layout. There are buffet-style dining options, as well as a la carte and combo options. We went for the choose-your-own option and had some of the prawns, braised beef, sweet and sour fish, and chicken wings. The price is determined per ounce of food you choose, with rice being $1 extra. We also got the pig trotter combo and it was a good amount of food for the price. The drinks were also good, and the boba was nice and chewy. Overall the food was delicious for the good price and we will be coming back again!

Fan fan satisfies my craving for authentic Chinese food while I am away at school. They have a variety of dishes ranging from more American ones like broccoli beef to more authentic ones like mapo tofu. These two dishes are my favorite but they are all pretty good, especially when they come out fresh. Fan fan food is tasty and convenient when I’m in between classes and a lot of my friends like to hang out there. The service is fast and the portions are big. Sometimes they even have deals like a whole steamed fish for the price of a regular entree! Would recommend.
