About Famous

Famous is a meal delivery service operating from a Chinese restaurant located at 253 Avenue X, Brooklyn, NY 11223, USA. While our platform focuses on connecting you with local Chinese restaurants in US, we understand you might be researching options in other areas. Based on recent online reviews, here's an objective overview of what some customers have experienced with meal delivery from Famous.

One customer who visited the physical location for takeaway expressed concerns about the hygiene of the establishment and found the cooking process to be rushed. They ordered sweet and sour chicken and fried pork rice, noting that the fried pork rice lacked essential ingredients like onions, eggs, and vegetables, containing only a small amount of pork. This customer found the overall food quality to be subpar compared to other Chinese restaurants and indicated they would not return.

Another customer who utilized the delivery service reported a mixed experience. While their food arrived early and the delivery person was polite, they expressed significant disappointment with the food itself. They ordered vegetable chow mein, which, despite being spicy as requested, was described as being more like cole slaw with a limited amount of broccoli and a sauce containing unusual gelatinous clumps. Additionally, their rice was forgotten. The bourbon chicken was described as dry, and the side dishes (Mexican rice and mixed vegetables) were bland.

This customer explicitly stated they would not order from Famous again and expressed surprise at any positive reviews the establishment might have received. The experience highlights issues with food preparation, ingredient quality, and order accuracy for at least one delivery customer.

Based on these recent reviews, it's important for potential customers considering meal delivery from Famous to be aware of these reported experiences regarding food quality, ingredient omissions, and hygiene concerns. As there is no promotional information available in the provided reviews, it is advisable to consider these customer experiences when making a decision.

Saturday, December 14th, I am visiting a friend's home, located in close proximity to a Chinese restaurant. My friend has highly recommended this establishment, citing its exceptional Chinese cuisine. Following their advice, I proceeded to the store and placed an order for sweet and sour chicken, accompanied by fried pork rice. Unfortunately, upon observation, I noticed that this Chinese business seemed somewhat unhygienic, and the tall Chinese gentleman appeared unusual. Although I received my ordered food, I observed that the cooking process was hurried, which did not inspire confidence. Additionally, the mission fried pork rice lacked essential ingredients such as onions, eggs, and vegetables, and contained only a small amount of pork. In comparison to other Chinese restaurants, the quality of food at this location was subpar. As a result, I do not plan to return to this establishment for food.

They were out of one of the side orders for the Bourbon Chicken, so I replaced it with something else. The food arrived early and the delivery person was polite. The food was a big disappointment. I'm not sure how they received such good reviews. I ordered vegetable chow mein. It was spicy as requested, but it was more like cole slaw than chow mein. There were exactly three broccoli florets in the entire dish. The rest was onions, celery, bean sprouts, and cabbage. The sauce (what there was of it) had weird dark brown gelatinous clumps in it that felt gross in my mouth and ruined my appetite. They also forgot the rice. The bourbon chicken was also pretty dry and the sides dishes (Mexican rice and mixed vegetables) were so bland I had to add salt and pepper on them. I won't be ordering from there again.

The food was good but I have issues with the service. After ordering, the phone operator repeated the order back to me and I noticed that he said 2 orders of the salmon dish. Instead I had ordered 1. I thought he would remove the other dish but I received the two dishes. I thought it strange when he said that the total was over $50 when I only ordered approximately $35 worth of food based on the lastest menu that I had. So I asked the phone operator to send over a menu because the amount was suspicious, which he did not send. The fact that he did not bother to send over the menu, sent and charged me for additional items that I did not order or the price isn't updated on the website makes me think that something is shady about this business. My recommendation if you want to order from here is to visit the business in person instead of ordering over the phone. That way you'll know exactly what you are getting and what you can expect to pay.

The food is decent. - Not to oily, just perfect for "takeout" (chines menu). The customer service on the other hand is questionable. They charge "tax", but they probably just pocket the difference as a "bonus" by calculating it on their little "calculators" which they erase. They also push you to buy more on the menu and the wait time for the food is long. The manager( woman? ) seems like she's from a foreign country because she has a really strong domineering personality, where her workers are either scared of her, or scared of being fired. I"m assuming since it's near the train, their property taxes are higher, so they charge more than usual for their food. The problem is, the quality does not equate to the price you pay for it. Especially when they don't even pay the "tax" portion because there is no way you can easily change the final price by adjusting your "tax". For example, I ordered 14.49 worth of food with "tax". The manager then changed the total to 14.45, and then gave me 3 quarters back from $15. I would have argued with her, but you can't reason with thief's once they take your money, except by writing a review ofcourse.

I placed an order for famous Chinese food and taco. My order took an hour and a half to get here. One combo with roast pork in garlic sauce had spaghetti in it! The sesame chicken combo had freaking soggy French fries in it! The food isn't fresh at all. It's over dry. Like it's been microwaved for a little too long. The chicken are like little bricks covered in sauce. Absolutely disgusting
