About Evergreen China Buffet

Welcome to Evergreen China Buffet, a Chinese restaurant located at 2223 E 17th St in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Operating within the Chinese Restaurant category, Evergreen China Buffet offers a buffet-style dining experience, providing a wide array of Chinese dishes for customers to choose from. Based on the available customer reviews, experiences at this establishment appear to be mixed, with some positive aspects regarding food variety and specific dishes, alongside concerns about food freshness, the environment, and certain menu items.

One reviewer, who mentions being accustomed to numerous Chinese buffets from Washington, noted that Evergreen China Buffet had "lots of options" during an afternoon visit around 2:00 PM. This suggests that the restaurant aims to provide a diverse selection of dishes to cater to different tastes. Among the offerings, the reviewer specifically praised the "fresh shrimp" and the "mushrooms potstickers" as standout items they enjoyed. Additionally, the buffet includes a variety of dessert items, providing a sweet conclusion to the meal. For those with a preference for sweet and sour chicken, the reviewer recommended waiting for a fresh batch to ensure optimal quality.

However, this same review also highlighted some areas of concern. The reviewer noted that some of the food had been sitting out for a while, resulting in a less palatable texture. This is a common challenge for buffet-style restaurants, where maintaining the freshness and temperature of a large selection of food can be difficult, especially during off-peak hours. The reviewer also expressed a lack of confidence in the sushi offered at the buffet, suggesting it did not appear appealing. This indicates a potential inconsistency in the quality across different food categories within the buffet.

Another customer review presented a more critical perspective on Evergreen China Buffet. This reviewer stated that the location "needs to improve," describing it as "run down and dirty." This is a significant concern, as the cleanliness and overall condition of a dining environment can greatly impact the customer experience and perception of food safety and quality. The reviewer also mentioned that this was their second visit and that the condition of the restaurant seemed to have worsened since their first visit. Furthermore, they specifically pointed out an issue with the steamed clams being "full of sand," indicating a potential problem with the preparation or quality control of this particular dish.

Interestingly, this critical reviewer also noted that Evergreen China Buffet is "the only Chinese Buffet in town." This suggests that local users in Idaho Falls who prefer the buffet dining style for Chinese cuisine may have limited alternatives. However, the feedback regarding the environment and certain food items indicates that there might be trade-offs to consider.

Given these reviews, the features of Evergreen China Buffet appear to include a wide variety of Chinese dishes offered in a buffet format, including options like orange chicken, noodles (to which customers can add orange sauce), a selection of vegetables (though one reviewer found them mediocre), fresh shrimp, mushroom potstickers, sushi (with a caveat about its appearance), a variety of desserts, and steamed clams (which have received negative feedback regarding cleanliness). The service style is typical of a buffet, where customers serve themselves from the available dishes.

The environment, based on one review, seems to be a potential area for improvement, with descriptions of being "run down and dirty." This suggests that local users who prioritize a clean and well-maintained dining setting might find this aspect of Evergreen China Buffet to be a drawback.

No specific promotional information is mentioned in the provided reviews. It is common for buffet restaurants to offer lunch and dinner pricing, as well as potential discounts for seniors or children. To learn about any current promotions, holiday specials, or pricing details at Evergreen China Buffet, local users are advised to contact the restaurant directly at (208) 524-0999 or +1 208-524-0999. Inquiring about their hours of operation, especially during off-peak times, might also be beneficial to understand the potential for food freshness.

The address, 2223 E 17th St, Idaho Falls, ID 83404, provides a clear location for local residents to find the restaurant. For those living or working in this part of Idaho Falls, Evergreen China Buffet offers a convenient option for a Chinese buffet experience, despite the mixed reviews regarding quality and environment.

In conclusion, Evergreen China Buffet in Idaho Falls offers a wide selection of Chinese dishes in a buffet setting. While some customers have appreciated the variety and specific items like fresh shrimp and mushroom potstickers, concerns have been raised about the freshness of some food items, the appearance of the sushi, and the cleanliness and upkeep of the restaurant environment. As it is reportedly the only Chinese buffet in town, local users seeking this dining style may still consider visiting, but should be aware of the potential drawbacks mentioned in the customer feedback. For the most up-to-date information on pricing, promotions, and any improvements in quality or environment, contacting the restaurant directly is recommended.

I am from Washington endless camera for a China Buffet. It's about 2:00 in the afternoon and they had lots of options. The food is pretty good some of it was been sitting there for a while so it's pretty hard to eat. I don't think I suggest the sushi for it didn't look very good. The best thing I loved was the fresh shrimp, the mushrooms potstickers. They have a variety of dessert items. I also suggest waiting for the chicken for sweet n sour chicken.

This location needs to improve, it looks run down and dirty. It’s the second time I visit this place and it looks worst than the first time. The steamed clams are full of sand. Unfortunately it is the only Chinese Buffet in town.

Service was great. Egg drop soup was really good. Everything else was cold which I thought was weird for buffet. May give it another chance since people so nice

On a Thursday 4pm, less than 10 people in the restaurant, every meal was surprisedly warm, fresh and full. But like said in another comment, everything is too salty or too much MSG idk. The Sushis are the worst no taste at all, the dessert lack of taste also. The buffet was 15.90$ tx in.

I give these guys a 5. I've eaten here multiple times a year for 23 years. I took my children here when they were little. They still know their names and they are in and graduated from college. I would add a 6th star if I could for consistency. I don't like change. They have kept all my favorite foods for 23 years and they have almost all stayed the same. If they change something it's usually for the better. Also when they don't have my favorite items out, they make them and bring them to me. The managers and some of the employees have also stayed the same. This is hands down one of my favorite places for a quick meal on my own.
