About Eric's Restaurant

Welcome to Eric's Restaurant, a Chinese restaurant located at 1500 Church St in a neighborhood of San Francisco, CA 94131, USA. As a local establishment within the "Chinese Restaurant" category, Eric's aims to provide a dining experience that is characterized by its speed of service. You can reach us at (415) 282-0919 or via our mobile number, +1 415-282-0919, for inquiries or to place an order.

The environment at Eric's Restaurant is noted by one reviewer as being "pretty nice," suggesting a pleasant and comfortable interior for diners. Another described the atmosphere as "chill," indicating a relaxed and unhurried setting, particularly during a Sunday lunch visit. This combination of a nice interior and a relaxed vibe could make Eric's a welcoming spot for both casual meals and those looking for a laid-back dining experience in the neighborhood.

The services at Eric's Restaurant are a point of significant discussion in the provided reviews, particularly regarding the speed of food delivery. One reviewer was struck by the exceptional speed, stating that Eric's could "make a name for itself for the fastest fast food restaurant," even suggesting that McDonald's could learn from their efficiency. This incredibly fast service, with three dishes arriving in under two minutes, was noted as a potential "warning sign" by the same reviewer, who questioned the preparation quality given the speed.

However, another reviewer who visited for lunch on a Sunday also mentioned that the food came out "super fast," but in their case, it was perceived positively, contributing to an impressive dining experience. This suggests that while the speed of service is consistently rapid, the perception of its impact on food quality may vary among customers. The service was also described as "nice" by the Sunday lunch visitor, indicating a friendly and positive interaction with the staff.

The features of Eric's Restaurant include a menu with a variety of Chinese dishes. Among the items ordered by reviewers were Eric's Spicy Eggplant, General Tso's chicken, and Snow Peas Moo Goo chicken. One reviewer who enjoyed their lunch found all three of these dishes to be "great" and expressed an intention to order them again, specifically recommending not to skip Eric's Spicy Eggplant. This positive feedback highlights the potential for well-prepared and flavorful dishes at the restaurant.

Conversely, another reviewer who ordered three dishes (though not specified by name) had a significantly different experience. They noted that all three dishes looked and tasted the same, expressing disappointment with the lack of distinct flavors and suggesting an over-reliance on sauces like XO sauce. This stark contrast in feedback indicates a potential inconsistency in the preparation or quality of the dishes, or perhaps a difference in the specific items ordered and individual palates.

The negative review also raised concerns about the handling of ingredients, with the reviewer humorously (and critically) suggesting that the chef might dislike their craft, leading to an over-saucing of dishes and a lack of care in highlighting the natural flavors of ingredients like beef and eggplant. This perspective implies a potential issue with the culinary approach, where speed might be prioritized over the nuanced preparation of each dish.

Regarding promotional information, there are no specific promotions mentioned in the provided reviews. The focus of the feedback is primarily on the speed of service and the varying opinions on the quality and flavor of the food. The fact that one reviewer intends to reorder specific dishes like Eric's Spicy Eggplant could be seen as a form of positive word-of-mouth promotion for those items. However, there are no explicit discounts or special offers mentioned.

In conclusion, Eric's Restaurant offers a dining experience characterized by remarkably fast service and a generally chill atmosphere. However, the reviews present a divided opinion on the quality and distinctiveness of the food. While some customers have found dishes like Eric's Spicy Eggplant, General Tso's chicken, and Snow Peas Moo Goo chicken to be great, others have experienced a lack of differentiation in taste and an over-saucing of the food. The "pretty nice" interior suggests a comfortable setting, but potential diners should be aware of the contrasting feedback regarding the culinary execution. If you are looking for a quick meal and are willing to try some of the recommended dishes, Eric's might be worth a visit, but it's advisable to consider the range of experiences reported by other customers.

So here we are again, trying a new place in a neighborhood which I haven't spent much time in. Somehow the evening called for Chinese food and we decided to give Eric a try. One thing is for sure. Eric has left the building or an apprentice with the same name took over the cooking. Let's start from the beginning. Eric's can make a name for itself for the fastest fast food restaurant, even McDonald's could learn from Eric's. We sat down, we place the order of three dishes and they all arrived in under 2 min. Ouch, that was the first warning sign, the 2nd warning sign , they all looked the same. The 3rd warning sign, they all tasted the same. Dear chef, you don't need to dislike your craft that much. The beef was already dead. No need to drown it XO Sauce a 2nd time around. Same goes for the egg plant, please cherish this beautiful vegetable, don't take your frustrations out on it. 5000 years of Chinese cuisine and that's what you came up with? Just take a fork and stab me, it would be less painful. Yes the interior is pretty nice.

Stopped in for lunch on a Sunday, and was really impressed with the food! It came out super fast, the service was nice, and the atmosphere is chill. We ordered three dishes: Eric’s Spicy Eggplant, General Tso’s chicken & Snow Peas Moo Goo chicken. They were all great dishes and will absolutely be ordering them again. Don’t skip Eric’s spicy eggplant!

I order two dishes, 1. Egg Fried Rice, good seasoning with plenty of egg in the mixture, 2. Eric’s Special Chow Mein, sautéed broccoli, asparagus, carrots and onions with a dark, savory sweet sauce with a pleasant mouth-feeling taste that activates the brain pleasure zone. The restaurant is located on the corner of Church and 27th Street on a clean neighborhood with the J train stopping near by.

Great neighborhood spot for chinese. Reasonably priced. Friendly service. We got the sampler app platter, Tao’s chicken, and portobello beef with the recommendation of our server. All the dishes were solid during dinner and next day during lunch. Portions are generous. Wanted to try this place for a while since we always walk past it, and finally went in. We’ll be back and we’ll bring friends 👌🏽as for the pics, we got a little saucy before I snapped.

I used to live in Noe Valley 21 years ago. Today I visited after so many years, and just had to go to Eric’s! The food is still amazing just as it used to be! We love the hot and sour soup and the general tso.
