About Empire Wok - Chinese Asian Western Fusion Cuisine Food Restaurant Bronx New York
Empire Wok - Chinese Asian Western Fusion Cuisine Food Restaurant is located at 1230 Castle Hill Ave in the Bronx, New York City. Operating within the Chinese Restaurant platform category, Empire Wok distinguishes itself by offering a fusion of Chinese, Asian, and Western culinary styles. This establishment aims to provide a diverse menu catering to a broad range of tastes, likely offering services such as takeout and delivery to the local community. However, recent online customer reviews present significant concerns regarding the quality of their food, pricing practices, and customer service.
One particularly critical review expresses strong dissatisfaction with Empire Wok, referencing a past negative experience that led the customer to stop ordering from them for years. This reviewer decided to try Empire Wok again but was met with renewed disappointment. A primary complaint revolves around the perceived reduction in food quality, which the customer attributes to the owner's alleged focus on cost-cutting measures. The specific order mentioned in this review included "beef" and broccoli in garlic sauce and house special fried rice. The customer reported being subjected to a substantial upcharge of $10 solely for the fried rice, which they deemed "ridiculous."
Further criticisms from this reviewer include the observation that the portion sizes, specifically noting the thinness of the plate, have decreased. Additionally, the garlic sauce was described as tasting no different from the regular sauce, suggesting a lack of distinct flavor or quality. The reviewer also expressed disappointment with the size of the chicken wings, describing them as "small" and resembling "baby chicken wings." Based on these negative experiences, this customer strongly advises others against ordering from Empire Wok, labeling the food as "trash" and recommending alternative local options like China King.
Another recent customer review echoes a similarly negative sentiment, focusing on issues with both food quality and customer service. This reviewer, who ordered through Uber Eats, expressed being hungry and anticipating a satisfying meal of chicken wings and fried rice. However, the order received was far from satisfactory. The fried rice was described as plain, tasteless, hard, and dried, with no sauce or additional items included in the bag. This customer deemed the meal "the worst" and labeled the restaurant as "nasty," suggesting it should be closed down. The level of dissatisfaction was so high that the reviewer stated they would give zero stars if possible, strongly advising others to avoid ordering from Empire Wok as it would be a "waste of money." The explicit mention of "disrespectful" behavior by "these people" further indicates a significant problem with the customer service experienced.
Considering these two recent customer reviews, several key concerns emerge regarding Empire Wok. Firstly, there are strong allegations of declining food quality and a focus on cost-cutting that negatively impacts the taste and ingredients of their dishes. The specific examples of the indistinguishable garlic sauce and the poor quality of the beef (implied by the quotation marks around "beef") raise serious questions about the standards of their cooking and the ingredients used.
Secondly, pricing practices appear to be a point of contention, with one customer citing a significant and seemingly unjustified upcharge for the house special fried rice. This, coupled with the perceived reduction in portion sizes, suggests that customers may not be receiving value for their money.
Thirdly, customer service is a significant area of concern, with one reviewer explicitly labeling the staff as "disrespectful" and another detailing a completely unsatisfactory order delivered through a third-party service without any apparent effort to ensure quality or accuracy. These issues can severely damage a restaurant's reputation and deter potential customers.
Based on the information available, it is not possible to provide a positive description of Empire Wok's environment or any positive features. The reviews focus solely on negative aspects of the food and service experienced through takeout and delivery. There is no mention of the restaurant's physical ambiance or any unique selling points that might attract customers.
Similarly, there is no information provided in these reviews regarding any promotional offers, discounts, or special deals that Empire Wok might be currently advertising. Therefore, no details on such features can be included in this introduction.
In conclusion, the recent online feedback for Empire Wok - Chinese Asian Western Fusion Cuisine Food Restaurant in the Bronx is overwhelmingly negative. Customers have reported significant issues with food quality, including tasteless and poorly prepared dishes, questionable ingredients, and reduced portion sizes. Pricing practices, such as substantial upcharges, have also been criticized. Furthermore, there are serious complaints about disrespectful customer service and the inaccurate fulfillment of orders. Potential local users should be aware of these recent experiences when considering Empire Wok for their dining needs. The available information does not support recommending this establishment based on the concerns raised by its customers.
Given the severity and consistency of the negative feedback regarding food quality, pricing, and customer service, it would be prudent for local users to exercise caution and perhaps consider alternative dining options in the Bronx. The fusion cuisine concept, while potentially appealing, seems to be overshadowed by fundamental issues in the execution of their dishes and the way they treat their customers, at least according to these recent online accounts.

LOOK AT HOW THIN THIS PLATE IS!!! This place is garbage. This is why i stopped ordering from years ago and rather get my Chinese from china king down the block. The owner “Lee” has always been a money hungry guy that was always finding ways to cut prices by reducing the quality of their food. I ordered “beef” and broccoli and in garlic sauce and house special friend rice & they up charged $10 just for the rice.. thats ridiculous. The plates are way thinner now for some reason. The garlic sauce taste like the regular sauce. Dont get me started on their small chicken wings, they look like baby chicken wings. Dont order from here, the food is trash.
These people are disrespectful! I’m hungry and decided to order on uber eats, I ordered chicken wings and fried rice only to be sent plain tasteless, hard, dried rice! No sauce nothing in the bag! The worst! They should be closed imminently! Nasty! If I could give 0 stars I would! Anyone thinking if to order don’t do it! Waste of money!
OMG, this place is the best!!!! ☆☆☆☆☆ 5 STARS! CAME HOT, FAST, AND FRESH! HONEY CHICKEN, CHICKEN WINGS AND CHCIKEN WITH BROCCOLI THE BEST!!! #1 CHINESE SPOT IN THE BRONX..THANK YOU🙏
The saddest pieces of wings fried shy of crispy bones. It looks like the chickens had Polio. While scrounging for protein in a large lomein, you'll be periodically greeted by the buttery textured shrimp, not too many once or twice.
I ordered food today from them off ubereats and there was a dead bug in my food. Disgusting, nasty, dirty Chinese people.
