About Empire Szechuan Garden

Empire Szechuan Garden is a Chinese restaurant located at 4342 46th St in Sunnyside, NY, identifying as a "Sichuan" restaurant. However, recent customer reviews raise concerns about the quality and authenticity of their food.

One reviewer described their experience as the "most disgusting food" they had ever eaten from a Chinese restaurant, despite having grown up with the cuisine. They reported that the food was extremely chewy due to being undercooked, and some items tasted like they were frozen. This customer specifically ordered the Hunan chicken and advised others seeking decent Chinese food to consider Mr. Wonton instead.

Another customer, who visited Empire Szechuan Garden specifically for their spicy chicken wings, expressed significant disappointment. Despite the restaurant being busy and the order taking some time, the wings, advertised as "spicy," lacked any heat and had an underwhelming texture. This reviewer felt that the dish did not reflect the authentic and flavorful punch expected from Sichuan cuisine and would not recommend the restaurant for those seeking a true Sichuan experience, particularly concerning the spicy chicken wings.

Based on this recent feedback, potential customers may want to approach Empire Szechuan Garden with caution, especially if seeking authentic Sichuan flavors or expecting high food quality. The reviews highlight issues with both the taste and texture of the food. For those who wish to contact the restaurant, their phone number is (718) 361-9625 or +1 718-361-9625. The most disgusting food I ever ate was from a Chinese restaurant, despite having grown up eating Chinese cuisine. As others have mentioned, the food was extremely chewy because it was undercooked, and some of it tasted like it was frozen. I ordered Hunan chicken, and if you're looking for decent Chinese food, I recommend going to Mr. Wonton instead.

I recently visited this restaurant, a "Sichuan" restaurant, craving their spicy chicken wings. The restaurant was busy, so my order tooka while. Unfortunately, the wings were a huge disappointment. Advertised as "spicy," they lacked any heat, and the texture was underwhelming. This doesn't reflect the authentic, flavorful punch you'd expect from Sichuan cuisine. Overall, wouldn't recommend this place if you're looking for a true Sichuan experience, especially the spicy chicken wings.

Was looking for a new Chinese takeout place after several disappointing orders from a nearby popular in the neighborhood, gave this place a try. Wow, the general tso chicken had good portion, not too heavy on breading, very crispy, not too sweet. Only negative, not spicy enough. 4.85/5 for the dish. Will be a regular here.

This was terrible. Food tasted old and chewy on top of that I called 20 min ahead and still had to wait there for 10 minutes atleast cuz they forgot my egg roll. It was so bad idk how Chinese food could be that bad and idk how the eating is so high

Really good classic takeout. The sautéed chicken and veggie dishes are delicious. Most Chinese takeout food is too greasy but this place isnt bad for takeout and you can tell their meats and veggies are very fresh, as is the oil they use. Their fried items like sesame chicken are crispy and meaty, not gummy and chewy like many other places. Every time I walk in here at night they're firing on all cylinders, phone ringing off the hook. They all work really hard and get the food out very quickly. I hope they know how much their takeout is loved and appreciated in this neighborhood! I refuse to order from anywhere else because their consistency and quality can't be beaten
