About Empire
Welcome to the local guide for Empire, a Chinese restaurant located at 103 Featherbed Ln in the University Heights neighborhood of Bronx, New York City. As a Chinese restaurant serving the local community, Empire aims to provide a variety of Chinese dishes to its patrons. This introduction will offer an overview of what you might anticipate from this establishment, based on the information available online.
Situated on Featherbed Lane in the Bronx, Empire Chinese Restaurant is positioned to serve residents and visitors in the surrounding area. The restaurant can be contacted at (718) 294-1088 or via their mobile number, +1 718-294-1088, for inquiries regarding orders, menu items, and services.
Details regarding the specific environment and ambiance of Empire Chinese Restaurant are not extensively available from the provided reviews. Typically, Chinese restaurants offer a casual setting for dining or waiting for takeout orders. The decor can vary, often incorporating traditional Chinese elements. Since the reviews do not describe the dining area, it is unclear whether Empire offers dine-in service or primarily focuses on takeout and potentially delivery. Local residents interested in dining at the location may consider contacting the restaurant directly for information about their current facilities.
In terms of services, based on the reviews, it can be inferred that Empire Chinese Restaurant offers takeout, as one customer mentioned having a "favorite order." Another review details calling for a delivery, indicating that delivery is also a service they provide. However, this particular delivery experience was negative, with the customer reporting that their order was incorrect and that they were yelled at and called "incompetent" when they called to explain the issue. This suggests that while delivery is offered, there may be inconsistencies in order accuracy and customer service when issues arise.
The features of Empire Chinese Restaurant would primarily revolve around its menu and the style of Chinese cuisine it offers. One positive review highlights that this restaurant offers "General Tso shrimp," which is mentioned as a favorite order that is not available at many other Chinese restaurants in the reviewer's area. This suggests that Empire might offer some less common or specialty dishes. However, without a comprehensive menu, it is challenging to detail the full range of their culinary offerings. Typical Chinese restaurants often feature a variety of dishes including chicken, beef, pork, and seafood preparations, along with rice and noodle dishes, and a selection of appetizers and soups. To explore the specific menu and any unique dishes offered by Empire, contacting the restaurant directly would be the most reliable approach.
Promotional information for Empire Chinese Restaurant is not available in the provided reviews. Restaurants often use various methods to attract customers, such as offering lunch specials, discounts on certain dishes, or seasonal promotions. To find out if Empire currently has any special offers or promotions, local residents should contact the restaurant directly or check if they have any online presence where such information might be advertised.
The customer reviews provided offer contrasting insights into recent experiences at Empire Chinese Restaurant. One reviewer expressed satisfaction, specifically mentioning their availability of "General Tso shrimp," a dish they enjoy and find rare in their locality. This positive feedback suggests that Empire may cater to specific preferences and offer some unique items that set them apart from other Chinese restaurants in the area.
In contrast, the other review details a negative experience with a delivery order. The customer reported receiving an incorrect order and then being subjected to unprofessional behavior, including being yelled at and insulted ("called incompetent") by the person they spoke to when trying to resolve the issue. This negative feedback raises concerns about the restaurant's order accuracy and, more significantly, their customer service practices when dealing with mistakes. Such behavior can significantly impact a customer's perception of the restaurant and their likelihood of ordering again.
Considering these two reviews, potential customers face a mixed picture of Empire Chinese Restaurant. On one hand, they might offer some unique and appreciated dishes. On the other hand, there are reports of issues with order accuracy and highly unprofessional customer service. When deciding whether to patronize this establishment, local residents should weigh the positive mention of a specific dish against the serious allegation of poor customer service. If order accuracy and respectful communication are priorities, potential customers might want to exercise caution or seek further information, perhaps by looking for additional reviews or contacting the restaurant to gauge their responsiveness.
For local residents in the University Heights area looking for a Chinese restaurant, Empire presents a potential option, especially if they are interested in trying dishes like General Tso shrimp. However, the reported negative experience with customer service is a significant factor to consider. It might be prudent to explore other Chinese restaurants in the Bronx to compare menu offerings and customer service reputations before making a decision.
In conclusion, Empire Chinese Restaurant in the Bronx offers takeout and delivery services and may feature some unique dishes like General Tso shrimp that are appreciated by some customers. However, there is a reported instance of incorrect order delivery coupled with highly unprofessional customer service. Potential customers should take both the positive and negative feedback into account when deciding whether to patronize this establishment.

I called for a delivery, and they got my order wrong, but when I called to explain to the man and I ended up getting yelled and called incompetent.
Called them 8:30pm food didn’t arrive till 10pm. One order was fried shrimp and fries. The shrimp still had poop in it. They obviously don’t clean they shrimp. I only ordered from them because they deliver (didn’t even come upstairs) won’t be ordering from them again. I’ll stick to going to my Chinese store by me.
