About Empire King

Welcome to your local guide for Empire King, a Chinese restaurant situated at 1374 Boston Road in the Bronx, New York. As a Chinese restaurant serving the local community, Empire King aims to provide a range of Chinese culinary options. Based on the limited customer feedback available online, experiences appear to be quite contrasting, offering potential insights into the food, service, and operational aspects of this establishment.

One customer review offers a positive, albeit brief, assessment of the food, stating, "Food slaps." This is a strong endorsement of the taste and quality of the cuisine. This reviewer also noted an initial issue with their order being incorrect but indicated that the restaurant promptly rectified the mistake without any problems. Additionally, this review highlights a crucial operational detail: "Place only accepts cash." This is an important piece of information for potential customers to be aware of before visiting or placing an order.

In stark contrast, another customer shared a significantly negative experience. This individual, who recently moved to the Bronx from Queens and had a preferred Chinese restaurant there, ordered "Large Beans with broccoli garlic sauce" and a "Small white rice" for pickup. Upon receiving their order, they discovered that the beans were missing from the broccoli dish and expressed a strong dislike for carrots, which they apparently received instead (though not explicitly stated). Furthermore, they found the garlic sauce to taste "gross" and the white rice to taste "funny," concluding that the food was "isnt delicious" and a "Rip off price."

This dissatisfied customer then recounted their attempt to address these issues with the restaurant. Upon calling back, they described the owner's attitude as "chinese food attitude" (a phrase that is unclear in its intended meaning but contextually negative) and stated that the owner hung up on them. As a result of this experience, the customer declared that Empire King deserves "zero stars" and that they would not order from there again. They contrasted their experience with their "favor chinese food in the queens," which they described as having "best food and friendly" service.

Given these two very different reviews, it is challenging to form a definitive picture of the environment at Empire King. The positive review does not offer any details about the ambiance or setting, focusing solely on the food and service interaction. Similarly, the negative review centers on the food quality and the phone interaction with the owner, providing no information about the physical restaurant space. As a typical Chinese restaurant, it might offer a casual dining area for eat-in customers and a counter for placing and picking up takeout orders. However, without more information, a detailed description of the environment is not possible.

In terms of services, Empire King appears to offer both takeout and potentially dine-in options, as customers picked up their orders. The positive review mentions the restaurant's willingness to correct a mistake with an order, suggesting a degree of customer service responsiveness, at least in that instance. However, the negative review paints a very different picture of customer service, particularly in how complaints are handled over the phone by the owner. The fact that they only accept cash is a significant service aspect that customers need to be aware of, as it limits payment options.

Regarding the features of Empire King, the menu is not provided in the given information, so it is impossible to detail the specific dishes they offer beyond the "Beans with broccoli garlic sauce" mentioned in the negative review. The positive review's simple statement that "Food slaps" implies a general satisfaction with the taste of their offerings, at least for that customer's order. The contrasting experience suggests potential inconsistencies in food quality or preparation. The cash-only policy is a notable feature of their operation.

No promotional information is included in the provided reviews. Chinese restaurants often have lunch specials, combination deals, or other promotions to attract customers, but there is no mention of any such offers for Empire King in this feedback. To learn about any current promotions or specials, it would be necessary to contact the restaurant directly using the provided phone number, (718) 328-5988 or +1 718-328-5988.

In conclusion, the customer reviews for Empire King Chinese Restaurant at 1374 Boston Road in the Bronx present a polarized view. One customer found the food to be excellent and appreciated the prompt correction of an order, while noting the cash-only payment policy. The other customer had a very negative experience with missing items, disliked the taste of their food, and reported rude behavior from the owner when attempting to resolve the issues over the phone. These contrasting experiences make it difficult to provide a uniformly positive or negative assessment. Potential local users should be aware of the cash-only policy and the mixed feedback regarding food quality and customer service when considering Empire King. For further information or to inquire about their menu and any potential promotions, contacting the restaurant directly at (718) 328-5988 or +1 718-328-5988 is recommended.
