About Empire China

Welcome to Empire China, a Chinese Restaurant located at 535 Winchester Ave in Martinsburg, West Virginia. As a local Chinese restaurant, Empire China offers a variety of Chinese dishes for the Martinsburg community. Based on recent customer reviews, Empire China is characterized as a small and clean establishment with notably friendly and polite customer service. While some aspects of the food have received positive feedback, others have been met with more mixed reactions, providing local users with a nuanced perspective on what to expect.

One customer shared their experience with the spare rib lunch special. They found the rice to be "very good" and the egg roll to be "good," indicating satisfaction with these components of the meal. However, they described the spare ribs themselves as "average," suggesting they were not particularly outstanding but also not unsatisfactory. This same customer also ordered the chicken pad Thai, noting that it was "little to spicy" for their personal preference. Despite the spiciness, they acknowledged that it was "on par with others that I have had ( very good)," indicating that the dish was well-prepared and flavorful, even if it had a significant level of heat. This positive overall experience led them to state they "will go back again and eat there next time," suggesting a favorable impression of Empire China.

Another reviewer specifically mentioned their first visit to Empire China on June 28, 2024. They described it as "a small spot in a strip mall," providing insight into the restaurant's location and size. Inside, they found the restaurant to be "small and clean," which is a positive aspect for the dining environment. This reviewer also corroborated the positive feedback regarding customer service, describing it as "super nice and polite," reinforcing the notion of a welcoming and friendly staff.

A third customer shared their experience with the beef lo mein and egg rolls. They noted that the "beef lo mein" was "full of noodles" (which they described as "small than the usual noodles used in lo men," and expressed a preference for them, stating "I like these") as well as a generous amount of "vegetables" including broccoli, onion, mushrooms, and carrots, along with "a few pieces of beef." This suggests a substantial portion of lo mein with a good mix of noodles and vegetables. However, their experience with the egg rolls was less positive. They described "The two egg rolls" as "extremely greasy" and noted they "had some odd red meat like bits inside." Additionally, they found "The crispy layer was a little burnt, yet still eatable." This mixed review of the egg rolls indicates a potential inconsistency in the preparation or ingredients of this particular item.

Based on these reviews, the environment of Empire China is characterized as "small and clean," likely offering a cozy and well-maintained space for diners. Located in a strip mall, it might have a casual and unassuming exterior. The small size could imply limited seating, which might be a consideration during peak hours. However, the emphasis on cleanliness is a significant positive aspect of the environment.

The services offered by Empire China likely include dine-in, given the mention of eating at the restaurant by one reviewer. Takeout is also implied, as the first reviewer mentioned ordering a lunch special. Delivery services are not explicitly mentioned in the reviews, so local users interested in delivery should contact the restaurant directly to inquire about its availability.

However, the egg rolls have received mixed feedback, with concerns about greasiness and unusual filling. The small and clean interior also stands out as a feature of the restaurant's ambiance.

Had the spare rib lunch special. Rice was very good, the egg roll good. Ribs are average. Also order the chicken pad Thai. Little to spicy for me but I can say it on par with others that I have had ( very good). Will go back again and eat there next time.
