Based on recent customer feedback, the dining environment at Emperor's Palace Lacey has undergone positive changes. One reviewer noted that the dining area appeared more open and less crowded with tables compared to previous visits, creating a more welcoming atmosphere for guests. This suggests that the restaurant management has taken steps to improve the comfort and spaciousness of their dining area, potentially enhancing the overall dining experience for patrons who prefer to eat on-site.
The service at Emperor's Palace Lacey appears to be generally attentive. According to one customer, they were greeted and seated promptly by the hostess, and their server arrived at the table quickly with menus and to inquire about drink orders. This indicates an initial level of efficiency and attentiveness in their service approach. However, the same reviewer also experienced a delay in seeing their server again after the soup was served, highlighting a potential area for improvement in consistent table management.
A notable feature of Emperor's Palace Lacey is a recent and significant change to their menu. The menu has been condensed to a single large page, and the reviewer specifically mentioned the availability of two family dinner options, both starting with soup. One of these options, priced at $70 for two people, includes won ton soup and an appetizer platter. The other family dinner features the soup of the day and does not include the appetizer platter. This revised menu structure suggests a focus on simplified offerings and potentially value-oriented family meals.
The appetizer platter, included in the $70 family dinner, seems to be a highlight. The reviewer described it as "loaded" with a variety of items, all served hot and well-made. The platter included six large shrimp in a light crispy coating, two delicate spring rolls, four large crab rangoons, and six pieces of barbecue pork, accompanied by a large bowl of sweet and sour sauce and another bowl with hot mustard, ketchup, and sesame seeds. This extensive appetizer selection was so substantial that the reviewer considered it "a meal all by itself," indicating a generous portion size and variety.
The main courses in the $70 family dinner also received positive feedback. The meal included sweet and sour pork, special fried rice, almond chicken, broccoli beef, and cashew chicken. According to the customer, the serving plates were "loaded," and all the dishes were delicious, delicately made, and served hot. This suggests a commitment to providing generous portions and flavorful, well-prepared main courses that aim to satisfy diners.
Despite the overall positive experience with the appetizer and main courses, one reviewer noted a "bump in the road" with the won ton soup, which was described as lukewarm and too salty. While the won tons themselves, featuring two large chicken dumplings each, were praised for being well-made and not soggy, the temperature and saltiness of the broth were disappointing. This highlights a potential inconsistency in the preparation of certain dishes.
In contrast to the largely positive review of the family dinner, another customer expressed significant disappointment with their dining experience at Emperor's Palace Lacey. This reviewer, who had high expectations based on other reviews, found the food to be "lacking any inspiration." They specifically criticized the sweet and sour pork for being oversized, tough, and overly breaded. The dish identified as Chow Mein was described as resembling Lo Mein but without noodles, consisting mainly of bean sprouts. The beef dishes were noted for being heavy on onion and light on meat, and the fried rice was characterized as overcooked and mushy. This customer spent $100 on their dinner and did not take the leftovers home, indicating a high level of dissatisfaction with the quality of the food.
The starkly contrasting experiences shared by these two reviewers suggest a potential variability in the quality and consistency of the food at Emperor's Palace Lacey. While one customer highly recommended the family dinner and expressed their intention to return, the other was thoroughly disappointed and vowed not to return, continuing their search for good Chinese food. This discrepancy highlights the importance for potential customers to consider both positive and negative feedback when making their dining decisions.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information available for Emperor's Palace Lacey based on the provided reviews. Local users interested in any special offers, discounts, or new menu items are advised to contact the restaurant directly using the provided phone numbers. Inquiring about current specials or promotions when making a reservation or placing an order might be beneficial.
In conclusion, Emperor's Palace Lacey in Olympia, WA, presents a mixed picture based on recent customer reviews. While one reviewer praised the improved dining environment, attentive initial service, generous and delicious family dinner (with the exception of the soup), and substantial appetizer platter, another customer reported significant disappointment with the overall quality and preparation of several dishes, including the sweet and sour pork, "Chow Mein," beef dishes, and fried rice. Potential diners should consider these contrasting experiences and may want to inquire about the restaurant's current food preparation standards and any ongoing promotions by contacting them directly. The revised menu with family dinner options is a notable feature, but the consistency of food quality appears to be an area of potential concern.

Customer Reviews
It had been some time since we had eaten here so we decided to stop and have dinner on our way home from errands. The first thing I noticed was the dining area was much more open than before and the floor was not overcrowded with tables, making it feel much more welcoming inside. We were greeted and seated almost immediately by the hostess. Our server came to the table with menus right away with menus and to ask if we cared for any beverages. The menu had changed radically since we were last there. Everything had been condensed to one large page. There were only two choices for a family dinner, starting with soup. We chose the $70 meal for two as it came with won ton soup and the appetizer platter. The other family dinner offered the soup of the day and no appetizer platter. The soup arrived first. Each had two large chicken won tons as opposed to the typical small ones I have typically seen in most Asian restaurants. They were well made and not soggy. The downside of the soup was lukewarm and too salty. I did not see our server until the appetizer platter arrived so we were unable to say something right away. I began to hope I had not made a bad dinner choice. Our appetizer platter arrived and it was loaded. Everything was hot and well made. There were 6 large shrimp in a light crispy coating, 2 delicate spring rolls, 4 large crab Rangoons and 6 barbecue pork along with a large bowl of sweet and sour sauce, and another bowl with the hot mustard, ketchup and sesame seeds. The appetizer was a meal all by itself. Then our dinner arrived. Sweet and sour pork, special fried rice, almond chicken, broccoli beef and cashew chicken. The serving plates were loaded. Everything was delicious, delicately made and hot. Our dinner did not disappoint! We were stuffed and still had plenty to take home. The soup was a bump in the road. I highly recommend this meal. We will definitely be back. The first picture is our meal minus the appetizer platter. The second picture is what we brought home.
I love Chinese food, and I had high expectations for this restaurant based on its review. I was completely disappointed. Overall, I found the food lacking any inspiration. Sweet and sour was oversized chunks of tough meat with way too much breading. The Chow Mein looked more like Lo Mein....but with no noodles, just bean sprouts. Honestly, I don't know what it was. The beef dishes were heavy on onion and lacking much meat. The fried rice was overcooked and mushy. It was $100 for dinner and we didn't keep the leftovers. My search for good Chinese food continues.
Great! Food service was wonderful + very reasonably priced. We did several of the family meals as we had a large party and we still ended up taking a ton of food home. A tip if you do take stuff home or plan to take stuff home, ask for the sauce on the side and if you pop the crispy stuff in the air fryer for a second and then put the sauce on top after you will not be disappointed. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back.
Went for lunch today, we have done carry out before as well. Best vegetable lo mein I have ever had.
Good Chinese food love the egg foo young, but they have a big selection. Dine in and delivery only if your inside their range. I have to pick up cause I'm just outside their delivery. Service is good wether I dine in or pick up.
