About Emperor's Palace
Welcome to Emperor's Palace, a Chinese restaurant located at 2136 Rockwell Ave in Cleveland, Ohio (OH 44114), USA. Positioned within the Chinese restaurant category, Emperor's Palace aims to offer a variety of Chinese dishes for local diners, potentially including dine-in, takeout, and delivery services. You can contact Emperor's Palace by phone at (216) 861-9999 or their mobile number +1 216-861-9999 to inquire about their menu, hours, and service options. However, recent customer reviews present significant concerns regarding food quality and order accuracy that potential patrons should be aware of.
One detailed review highlighted a severe issue with order accuracy related to a food allergy. The customer specifically stated that they have a mushroom allergy and indicated this twice when placing their order. Despite this, their meal still contained mushrooms, leading to a potentially dangerous situation. This oversight raises serious concerns about the restaurant's attention to detail when handling allergy information. On a more positive note, the same reviewer mentioned that the wanton soup was "delicious" and that their child enjoyed it so much they wanted more. This suggests that some items on the menu might be well-received. However, the positive feedback was overshadowed by other negative experiences. The customer ordered General Tso's chicken and requested it mild, but it contained approximately ten peppers, indicating a significant discrepancy between the request and the preparation. Additionally, the reviewer ordered Mongolian beef and expressed dissatisfaction with the egg roll or spring roll (they were unsure which was served), noting that it had a "strange flavor." They also requested house-made mustard but received a packaged version, which was not the same as expected. This review points to issues with order accuracy, inconsistency in spice levels, and potential problems with the quality or taste of certain side items.
Another customer expressed strong disappointment with their meal, stating, "If you like fatty meat and celery this is the spot for you." This comment suggests a significant imbalance in the ingredients of their chosen dishes, with an excess of fat and celery and a lack of quality meat. The reviewer mentioned having "high hopes" for the restaurant, particularly based on its appearance "outside and in," implying that the ambiance might be appealing. However, the food itself failed to meet these expectations. They noted "lots of rice" but "not a lot of flavor," indicating a lack of taste in a staple component of many Chinese dishes. The spring rolls were described as not fresh and tasting "like something you’d get from the mall," suggesting a pre-made, low-quality product. The reviewer further criticized the meat content, stating "More fat than meat in both the chicken and pork" and reported the unpleasant discovery of having to "fish out bones from both meals." Based on this overwhelmingly negative experience, the reviewer concluded that they "will not go back." This feedback raises serious concerns about the quality of the meat used, the freshness of ingredients, and the overall flavor profile of the dishes.
The conflicting feedback, with one positive comment about the wanton soup amidst significant negative experiences, suggests that the quality and consistency of the food at Emperor's Palace may be variable. While one dish was enjoyed, other main courses and side items received strong criticism regarding preparation, ingredient quality, and adherence to order specifications.
The second reviewer's comment about the appealing appearance of the restaurant "outside and in" provides some insight into the potential environment of Emperor's Palace for dine-in customers. It suggests that the restaurant might have invested in its decor and ambiance, possibly creating a visually appealing space. However, this positive aspect of the environment was overshadowed by the poor quality of the food, leading to a highly negative overall experience for that customer.
Neither review provides specific details about the services offered beyond the food itself. There is no mention of the attentiveness of the staff, the speed of service, or the availability of takeout or delivery options. The first review does mention placing an order that was incorrectly fulfilled, which reflects negatively on their order-taking and preparation process. The second review focuses solely on the quality of the food delivered.
There is no information about any promotional offers or specials at Emperor's Palace in the provided reviews. Customers considering this restaurant would need to inquire directly about any such deals.
In conclusion, the recent customer reviews for Emperor's Palace in Cleveland, OH, raise significant concerns about the quality and consistency of their food, as well as their attention to order accuracy, particularly regarding allergies. While the wanton soup received a positive mention, other dishes, including General Tso's chicken, Mongolian beef, egg rolls/spring rolls, and even the rice, were heavily criticized for issues such as incorrect spice levels, poor ingredient quality (fatty meat, freezer-tasting shrimp), lack of freshness, and bland flavor. The serious incident of an allergy not being accommodated is a major red flag. While the restaurant's appearance might be appealing, according to one reviewer, the food seems to be a significant letdown for recent customers. Potential local users should carefully consider this negative feedback before choosing to dine at or order from Emperor's Palace. It would be advisable to look for more recent and positive reviews or consider alternative Chinese restaurants in the Cleveland area with more consistent positive feedback.

Customer Reviews
They did not read my order I have mushrooms allergy I put it twice on the order and still was in my meal. We had wanton soup and it was delicious. My kid wants more before we leave. We had general tso and asked for mild and it had about 10 of the peppers in it. And I had Mongolian beef I did not like the egg roll or spring roll not sure what they served with the meal but had a strange flavor also asked for house made mustard and got a package not the same.
If you like fatty meat and celery this is the spot for you. Had high hopes for this place. Really thought it was gonna be something special by the looks of it, outside and in. Lots of rice…not a lot of flavor. Spring rolls weren’t fresh…..tasted like something you’d get from the mall. More fat than meat in both the chicken and pork. Needed to fish out bones from both meals. Will not go back.
This place earned a 5 rating because they were so nice and friendly to me. Maybe it was the fact that I can speak Cantonese? When I came in, they seated me at a table. When I asked for dimsum, they immediately brought out a bowl of congee for me and said it was complimentary. The “juk” was not bad at all. I ordered 4 dishes to try, the typical har gao, siew mai, lor may gai, and fong jao. In terms of flavors, the dishes are not very salty. Adding a little bit of soy sauce will really enhance the flavors of the dishes. I enjoyed their siew mai, fong jao, and lor mai gai. Their har gao is okay, but the skin is too thick. Overall, although they have a limited selection of dimsum and the prices are slightly higher than Li Wah, I enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and the flavor of the food.
The young girl who waited on us was not very knowledgeable about the menu so we were flying blind being out first visit. The wonton soup did not have much flavor. The entrees were very good. Sesame chicken, sautéed vegetablesand the fish in Sichuan sauce.
Great place to eat. A large variety of food on the menu. Beautiful dining area and very friendly.
