About El Rincón Chino

El Rincón Chino is a Chinese restaurant located at 2655 County Hwy 484, Ocala, FL 34473, USA. Based on the limited customer reviews available, the experiences at this establishment appear to be quite polarized, with one review expressing extreme dissatisfaction and another offering positive feedback, albeit with the caveat of it being a food truck.

One particularly critical review uses strong language, describing the restaurant as "NASTY! NASTY! NASTY! And over priced!" This customer detailed several significant issues with their order. They mentioned that the person taking their order at the front was engaged in side conversations, indicating a lack of focus on customer service during the transaction. More alarmingly, they reported finding a facial hair in their food, which raises serious concerns about hygiene practices in the kitchen.

Further complaints from this reviewer included the quality of the plantains, which were described as "black, like if they do not wash them after peeling them." This suggests a potential lack of care in the preparation of ingredients. The chicken was also criticized for having an aftertaste, and the reviewer stated that the food made their entire group sick to their stomachs, implying a potential issue with food safety or freshness.

In addition to the issues with food quality and hygiene, this reviewer also recounted a bizarre and unprofessional interaction with the staff member at the front. Upon asking if sauces and utensils were included with their order, the staff member reportedly replied, "of course and mal de ojo tambien," which translates to "evil eye also." The reviewer took this statement seriously and was understandably offended and concerned by what they perceived as a non-joking and harmful remark. They expressed their belief in the power of words and the reality of the evil eye, stating that they would not be returning to the restaurant due to this unsettling encounter.

This detailed negative review paints a concerning picture of El Rincón Chino, highlighting potential problems with food quality, hygiene, customer service, and even unprofessional and inappropriate interactions with staff.

In stark contrast to this highly negative feedback, another reviewer offered a positive, albeit brief, comment. They stated, "The chicken is crispy and the rice is flavorful!! So far my favorite food truck on 484." This review highlights two specific aspects of the food that were found to be satisfactory: the texture of the chicken and the taste of the rice. The reviewer also mentioned that El Rincón Chino is their favorite food truck on that particular highway, which suggests a potentially different operational context or perhaps a more limited menu when operating as a food truck compared to a traditional restaurant setting, if it operates as both.

The discrepancy between these two reviews is significant. One describes a thoroughly unpleasant experience with multiple issues, while the other offers positive feedback on specific food items within the context of a food truck. This makes it challenging to form a definitive overall assessment of El Rincón Chino based solely on these two contrasting accounts.

Given the limited information, it is difficult to ascertain details about the environment of El Rincón Chino. The mention of it being a "food truck" by one reviewer suggests that at least part of its operation might be mobile or based in a temporary setup rather than a traditional brick-and-mortar restaurant. The other review does not provide any clues about the physical environment of the establishment.

Similarly, information about the services offered is scarce. One reviewer mentioned placing an order at the front, suggesting a counter-service model at least during that particular experience. The availability of dine-in versus takeout options is not clear from the provided reviews. The negative review implies a takeout order, as the customer was concerned about receiving sauces and utensils with their food.

The features of El Rincón Chino are also not well-defined. The positive reviewer highlights "crispy chicken" and "flavorful rice" as notable qualities of their food truck experience. The negative review, however, contradicts this by reporting issues with chicken quality and overall food nastiness. The dual nature of potentially being both a restaurant and a food truck could imply different menus or operational standards depending on the format.

No promotional information is available in the provided reviews. Local users would need to check directly with El Rincón Chino for any current specials or offers.

In conclusion, the customer reviews for El Rincón Chino in Ocala present a highly contrasting picture. One reviewer experienced significant issues with food quality, hygiene, and unprofessional service, leading to a strong condemnation of the establishment. On the other hand, another reviewer praised the crispy chicken and flavorful rice, specifically within the context of it being a food truck and their favorite on a particular route. This stark difference in feedback suggests a potential inconsistency in the quality of food and service, or perhaps a difference in standards or menu between a food truck operation and a more permanent restaurant setting, if both exist. Local users considering El Rincón Chino should be aware of these divergent experiences and may want to exercise caution or seek more recent and consistent reviews before making a decision.

NASTY! NASTY! NASTY! And over priced! The guy at the front was having side conversations while taking my order. I found a facial hair in my food. Plantains were black, like if they do not wash them after peeling them. Chicken had an after taste and the food made us all stomach sick. On top of that, after paying and getting my food, I asked if he put the sauces and utensils and he said “of course and mal de ojo tambien” which is evil eye. Like what??? that was not a joke and that is not something you go around saying. Words are powerful and the evil eye is real. Tf!!! Thanks to the Heavens above I am ALWAYS PROTECTED BY MY ANGELS & the words he said to me will be reversed back onto him. Words can catch spells and can be harmful. I will NOT be coming back here! If you want good food go else where! This is not it!

So I went Saturday at 4pm, only had a few items available... food was done relatively quickly, weird because the first time it took way longer. When I got home and saw what I paid almost 30 dollars for.... You can see the pictures, one is "orange chicken" the other "ribs", either this was from the day before, something that someone ordered and never picked up that day or I don't know what but... let me say I ate it, flavor was a bit off but I was hungry and already paid for it, not a great experience, now I'm gonna say this is my 2nd time buying there, and the first one was amazing, so something was off yesterday.. Will I go back? Don't think so, at least at the Chinese place in the mall I get to see food before I ask for it, and get a full plate, 3 meats for less than a combination there.
