El Norteño

My husband, daughter's and I stopped here while in Illinois for a short trip. We came across this place and it did not disappoint! I'm originally from Colorado where you can get some really good authentic Mexican food and this place was just as good if not better than any food I got in Colorado. I highly recommend trying this place. I got the flautas and they were amazing. The green sauce and mole they have is delicious. My daughters got the children's taco in a hard shell that was freshly fried. They loved it. The food came out fast and the servers were super nice. This is a great place.

Well.. I went to pick up a plant from off of marketplace.. my hubby drives a semi and passes this place all the time. He said it always smells delicious, and the parking lot is full of cars everytime he goes by...but he cant stop.. so today we did..Y'all make the drive for this place! Nice casual atmosphere.. service was top notch..right on it! Food portions are great..food is delicious. Hubby and I both got the fajitas..his was steak..mine chicken and shrimp with corn tortillas.. excellent flavor! What a pleasure to sit, relax and enjoy some really good Mexican food! Don't worry about the drive.. enjoy the road trip and the food!

I ordered a delivery burrito bowl with ground beef, fresh veggies, cheese, sour cream, guac, and sauces. Everything was well-prepared, though I would’ve preferred more of a Maillard crust on the beef. Overall, I’d give it a 4 out of 5. For context, my personal rating system aims for a balanced scale where the mean is an actual average, so a 4 is significantly above average.

We often order through DoorDash whenever I have a craving for a taco salad. They’re the BEST ever. We absolutely love the fresh guacamole and fresh salsa too.

Great food, clean, try the hot sauces. Good backend kick. The Carne Asada medium rare was spot on.
