The staff was absolutely excellent and made this experience truly special! The dishes were all really unique and you could tell the kitchen put a lot of time and thought into making them. Definitely pricey, but we felt the service and unique dishes were well worth it.
We had a great time eating here. Everything was executed very well. The "nine essential flavors" dish was amazing and stood out in it's creativity and presentation. Would have loved a few more bites of some flavors. Overall a great way to pamper ourselves with some elevated Chinese cuisine.
Everyone has a different palette but I think there's something for everyone here. Logistics: account for parking if you're not familiar with the area Courses: Long Tasting Food: Excellent. Several highlights but the dessert was exceptional. The dumpling was mid. Everything else was excellent. Spicy in soy milk? Amazing. Price: POV: you're in SF in the year of our dear lord and savior 2024. You have a base meal, gratuity, tip, and tax. If you want the Eight Tables experience, go. Was it worth it? Sure. Overall: Good pick. Recommended.
This was such a fun experience! The mixed reviews made me nervous but my partner and I had a really amazing time. Tucked away in an unassuming alley, with a door code and elevator, it created great ambiance and the restaurant itself continues the atmosphere. The waiters were incredibly attentive and polite, the food was great, and they put a candle in the dessert when they found out it was my birthday! Very pricy but definitely worth the experience in my opinion!
Worth the $200/person minimum price tag. Love the variety of dishes and flavors, plus a few fun surprises sprinkled throughout the meal. Very small and intimate restaurant with a high class feel to the decor. Service is impeccable. My favorite bites were the salty of the 8 essential flavors (top middle, fried taro ball) and the fish, which was such a fun mix of flavors and textures.
