Customer reviews for Eddie's Cafe present contrasting opinions. One reviewer, new to Maryland, was very impressed with their first meal, specifically ordering rice and chicken lo mein with vegetables. They highlighted the freshness and generous portion size of the food, noting that it was served hot. They also found the service to be friendly and helpful, despite the restaurant being busy. While mentioning limited seating and a somewhat clean environment, this customer concluded that Eddie's Cafe is best for a quick takeout meal and expressed a desire to return.

Conversely, another reviewer had a strongly negative experience, describing the food as "absolutely disgusting" and "awful." They ordered a beef, shrimp, and chicken combo and reported the chicken to be chewy and old, the food having a strange odor, and some parts tasting like "dirty mop water." This customer threw the meal away and strongly advised against recommending Eddie's Cafe.

Overall, Eddie's Cafe appears to be primarily a takeout establishment serving Americanized Chinese cuisine. While one customer praised the fresh and delicious food, particularly the lo mein, and the friendly service, another had a severely negative experience with a combo dish. Potential customers may want to consider these differing opinions when deciding whether to order from Eddie's Cafe.

Americanized Chinese Cuisine isn’t personally my favorite. It’s good when it’s needed most, or when we are not cooking as a family. I this was my first eating spot in Maryland for my short trip in D.C. Wow, I was just blown away. To get started, the food came out actually hot and fresh. I decided to order, rice, chicken lo mein with other included vegetables. It was in a really good portion sized container. I ate the entire thing, that’s how good it really was. I noticed that, they really care about how their food comes out to their customers. Like mentioned, what made it best was how it was just fresh. The service was great as well, I could tell they were quite busy so nothing so special, but they were very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere of the restaurant was good. They have limited seating however, mainly a place for takeout. Place was somewhat clean, but honestly, doesn’t bother me. Overall, this restaurant is best just to eat and go. However, their food was an absolute killer. If I ever come back to D.C for a weekend trip, I’m stopping here for a quick stop to eat again.

Absolutely disgusting, awful food. Ordered the beef, shrimp chicken combo. Chicken was horrible chewy and tasted old, the food itself gave a weird odor. In some parts it tasted like dirty mop water. I threw it away. I’m not sure how people can give this over one star. I absolutely would NOT recommend.

I'm surprised by the quality! I've been looking for a Chinese spot similar to one of my favorites when I lived in NJ. Was super happy to find this spot. Their General Tso's chicken is one of my favorites. The noodles and spicy pork are good, too.

We ordered last night and I was very disappointed with the Kung Pao Chicken. It comes with a very very thick sauce, almost like barbecue consistency and similar to a general tao's dish. One of my favorite parts of a good Kung pao chicken is the dried red chilis and their dish has NONE. How? Not sure. I even specified in the instructions but it seems to me that the sauce is canned and some of their ingredients too, like the mushrooms. Not a fan of food like this. The steamed pork dumplings were good but again, not positive they are fresh.
