About Eat Rice
Eat Rice is a Chinese restaurant located at 2236 Smithville Rd, Kettering, OH 45420, USA. They can be contacted at phone number (937) 256-6666 or mobile phone +1 937-256-6666. As a local Chinese restaurant, Eat Rice offers a variety of Chinese dishes to the Kettering community.
Recent customer reviews present concerns about the consistency and quality of food at Eat Rice. One former regular customer noted a decline in quality and an increase in prices, stating that the quality seems to depend on who is cooking or how busy the restaurant is. They specifically mentioned the breaded chicken being mostly bread and fat with very little chicken and expressed disappointment, indicating they would likely not return.
Another customer expressed strong dissatisfaction with their recent meal, describing the food as "horrible horrible horrible terrible." They felt "ripped off" and wished they could get a refund, stating they would likely throw the food away. This reviewer was perplexed by the restaurant's apparent 4.6-star rating, suggesting it should be closer to 3.9. They also mentioned a preference for another local Chinese restaurant, Peking Garden.
Based on these recent reviews, local users considering Eat Rice should be aware of potential inconsistencies in food quality, concerns about the value for money due to increased prices and perceived lower quality (e.g., breading over chicken), and at least one instance of a very negative dining experience.

Used to go here all the time and it depends on who is cooking or how busty they are. Probably not going back as the quality really decreased and they raised prices. for example the breaded chicken is mostly bread and fat, very little chicken. Its really a shame, we used to love this place, but not anymore!
Why 4.6 stars why you can’t just look at the stars apparently I figured 4.6. You can’t go wrong. Well, I did go wrong. Horrible horrible horrible terrible food. I’ve been ripped off again. I never I can never go to any other Chinese restaurant, but the one I already go to, which is Peking garden. Why 4.6 stars though I’m so like what more like it should be like 3.9. Maybe it’s just terrible Food. I wish I could just get a refund. I really do. You know things are expensive out there. I like to treat myself every great while so it really is disappointing when this happens I want a refund, but I know it won’t happen. I’d like for them to take the food back really because I don’t like wasting it and I know I’m just gonna throw it all away All of it!
Food is always great, service is quick. Atmosphere is 1 star because there really isn't one. It's a tiny little place with 2 tables usually taken up by the workers kids. I don't care at all about that because I'm either ordering carryout or delivery but if you are trying to eat in, good luck.
The smoothy was awesome And service was great just food wasn't! I had peppered steak that wasrnt good. It was real slime tasting and looking! Orange chicken wasn't bad it was ok.
This is pretty much the quintessential family owned Chinese restaurant. With this comes many caveats you must accept as a customer. Is the service going to be friendly and helpful? Probably not, they have been in a hot kitchen all day and are very busy. Is there going to be a kid doing homework behind the counter? Probably. Is the food gonna be a really good value and be tasty when you're drunk? Most likely. To address other reviews on here, these are my thoughts: Sometimes the customer is right, sometimes not. I've seen a few claiming that they serve raw chicken, but the photos I've seen look cooked. Dark meat chicken that is brined is going to have a somewhat reddish color, and areas near the bone are going to have blood clots that leave color even after cooking. It can be hard to tell, just use your best judgement. If the meat is pink and gooey, that is worrying. If the meat is dark red and seems a consistent texture with the rest of the meat, it should be fine. There are also reviews of the kitchen being messy, bad food sanitation practices, etc. That is probably true more than false. You kinda just have to decide how much that matters to you. Would a health inspector give them an "A" during an unprompted examination? Unlikely. How much does it matter when everything is cooked? I'm honestly unsure.
