About Eastern buffet

Eastern Buffet, located at 49211 Grapefruit Blvd Suite 5 & 6 in Coachella, California, offers a buffet-style dining experience featuring a variety of Chinese and potentially other Asian and American dishes. As a Chinese buffet, it aims to provide a wide selection of food options for customers looking for an all-you-can-eat experience at a set price. Based on recent customer reviews, the experience at Eastern Buffet appears to be somewhat mixed, with both positive and negative aspects highlighted.

One reviewer admitted to not having high expectations initially but conceded that Eastern Buffet "does deliver" to some extent. This suggests that while it might not be a top-tier dining destination, it offers some redeeming qualities. The reviewer did note areas for potential improvement, specifically mentioning that the restaurant "can be cleaner and more selections" could be offered. This indicates that the environment and variety of dishes might be areas where Eastern Buffet could enhance the customer experience.

Regarding food temperature, this same reviewer pointed out that several items were served cold, including the fries, broccoli beef, and teriyaki chicken. This is a significant concern as proper food temperature is crucial for both taste and safety. Additionally, they mentioned that the sushi was "not cold enough," which also raises food safety concerns and negatively impacted its palatability.

On a more positive note, the reviewer found the jalapeño chicken and the skewers to be "very tasty." This suggests that some of the cooked dishes are flavorful and well-received. The fried plantains and the cheese wontons were also described as "very good," indicating that certain appetizer or side items are enjoyable.

Despite the mixed experiences, the reviewer advised not to "completely dismiss this place." They offered a comparative perspective, suggesting that other, more expensive restaurants might be even more disappointing, and that Eastern Buffet possesses a certain "charm." This implies that despite its flaws, Eastern Buffet might offer a unique or satisfactory experience for some, particularly when considering its price point.

Another customer provided a list of specific food items they tried, along with their opinions. The rice was noted as being "salty," which could be a concern for those sensitive to sodium levels. A "chicken skewer" received a positive endorsement, being "approved by a big back :3," suggesting it was flavorful and satisfying. However, the sushi was simply labeled "ew," indicating a strong dislike, possibly related to the temperature issue mentioned by the other reviewer.

The garlic bread was rated "eh," suggesting it was unremarkable or not particularly enjoyable. In contrast, the "fried shrimp" received a "yum," indicating a positive experience with this seafood item. The "sweet bread" was simply described as "sweet," which is an expected characteristic but doesn't provide much insight into its quality. The "vanilla ice cream" was found to be "too sweet," which might be a matter of personal preference. The "teriyaki chicken" also received a negative "ew," echoing the other reviewer's experience with it being cold.

Finally, the water was noted as being "cold and good," a basic but important aspect of the dining experience. This detailed feedback provides a granular view of the varied quality and taste of different items at the buffet.

To contact Eastern Buffet, you can call them at (760) 398-3888 or use the mobile number +1 760-398-3888. The restaurant is located at 49211 Grapefruit Blvd Suite 5 & 6, Coachella, CA 92236, USA.

Given the reviews, Eastern Buffet appears to be a budget-friendly option that offers a wide variety of dishes in a buffet setting. However, potential customers should be aware of the reported issues with food temperature and the mixed opinions on the quality and taste of specific items. While some dishes, like the jalapeño chicken, skewers, fried plantains, cheese wontons, and fried shrimp, have received positive feedback, others, such as the broccoli beef, teriyaki chicken, and sushi, have been criticized.

The environment of Eastern Buffet is described as potentially needing improvement in terms of cleanliness, and the selection might be perceived as limited by some. However, the restaurant seems to have a certain appeal for those prioritizing affordability and variety over high-end quality or ambiance.

As a Chinese buffet, Eastern Buffet likely offers a range of Chinese-American classics, along with the mentioned sushi, fries, garlic bread, and ice cream, suggesting a broader selection that might also include American comfort food staples and desserts. The "sweet bread" mentioned could be a dessert item or a type of baked good often found in buffets.

There is no promotional information available in the provided reviews. Buffets sometimes offer lunch specials, senior discounts, or other promotions, so it might be worth contacting the restaurant directly to inquire about any current offers.

In conclusion, Eastern Buffet in Coachella offers an all-you-can-eat experience with a mix of Chinese and potentially other cuisines. Customer reviews indicate that while some dishes are tasty, there are concerns about food temperature, cleanliness, and the overall quality of certain items. It might be a suitable option for those seeking an affordable and varied meal, but it's advisable to go in with tempered expectations based on the feedback regarding consistency and quality. The positive remarks about certain dishes suggest that there are enjoyable options available, but the negative comments about food temperature and taste of other items should also be taken into consideration.

I didn't have big hopes for this place but I must say it does deliver. Yes, it can be cleaner and more selections, but it's a work in progress. Some of the items were cold: the fries, the brocoli beef, and the teriyaki chicken. The sushi was not cold enough it so it made it hard to eat. The jalapen̈o chicken and the skewers were very tasty. The fried plantains and the cheese wontons were very good. Don't completely dismiss this place. There are others that are more expensive and will disappoint you more, but this one has its charm.

Only pizza available was cheese, it's alright. The fried rice was also good. Orange chicken is more sauce than chicken but not overbearing. The chocolate ice cream tastes like aluminum, super strong flavor. But the vanilla one is great. Sushi is an intermediate okay. Not good, but not bad either. I did see a fly over the sushi bar so i did not get any but someone else in my party did (they knew about it but still decided to get some). Most seafood has no flavor, so I drowned them with lemons. They provide soy sauce, tapatio and Sriracha at the table. Service was great and there was not a lot of people so it was nice and calm.

Went yesterday to try it out, I've been to most Chinese buffet in a 1hr drive radius from cathedral City and this one takes the number one place on taste! Honestly the seasoning was exquisite they don't have a big variety but I was able the find shrimp in 3 different recipes clams squid salmon the cherry of the pie would have been small crawfish I like those. The atmosphere is very relaxing the cooks waiters and kitchen stuff are nice and welcoming. You don't feel pressured to leave or anything like that like in other places that they bring you the check without you asking for it like saying leave. Very tasty food
