About 眷湘Easterly Santa Clara

Welcome to 眷湘Easterly Santa Clara, a Chinese Restaurant located at 3927 Rivermark Plaza in Santa Clara, California, specializing in the bold and distinctive flavors of Hunan cuisine. Hunan province in China is known for its rich, savory, and often spicy dishes, utilizing fresh chili peppers, smoked and cured meats, and a variety of pungent and aromatic seasonings. 眷湘Easterly aims to bring the authentic taste of Hunan to the Santa Clara community.

Based on recent customer reviews, the dining experience at 眷湘Easterly Santa Clara presents a few key characteristics. One reviewer noted that while the "food is good," the "quantity is abysmal," citing specific examples of dishes where the proportion of main ingredients seemed small relative to the price. For instance, they mentioned the "$32.99 for the stewed chicken in pork tripe" containing "less than half of a chicken and quarter of stomach." Similarly, they observed that the "Stir friend pig kidney has more other ingredients than kidney." This feedback suggests that while the taste of the food may be satisfactory, some customers have concerns about the value in terms of the quantity of the primary protein or specialty ingredients in certain dishes.

In contrast, another reviewer offered a different perspective, characterizing 眷湘Easterly as providing a "very typical and efficient Chinese restaurant experience." This customer appreciated the no-fuss service, where orders are taken promptly and dishes are brought out as they are ready from the kitchen. This style of service, where dishes may arrive at different times rather than all at once, is common in many authentic Chinese restaurants and allows for the freshest possible delivery of each course. This reviewer also highlighted the availability of the menu in both Chinese and English, catering to a diverse clientele. A significant positive point mentioned was the generous portion sizes, stating that diners can expect "leftovers for days." Furthermore, they praised the "rich, savory, and as spicy as you like" flavors, indicating that the restaurant is adept at adjusting the spice level to suit individual preferences, a hallmark of Hunan cuisine.

Considering these two reviews, we can glean a more comprehensive understanding of what 眷湘Easterly Santa Clara offers. The restaurant serves authentic Hunan cuisine, known for its bold and savory flavors, with the option to customize the spiciness. The service is described as efficient and typical of a Chinese restaurant, focusing on prompt order taking and delivery of food as it's prepared. The menu is accessible in both Chinese and English. There is a discrepancy in the perception of portion sizes, with one reviewer finding them inadequate for the price, while another experienced generous portions leading to leftovers. This suggests that portion sizes might vary depending on the specific dish ordered, or that individual perceptions of what constitutes a sufficient quantity may differ.

The environment of 眷湘Easterly Santa Clara is not explicitly detailed in the provided reviews. However, the mention of a typical and efficient Chinese restaurant experience suggests a functional and perhaps bustling atmosphere focused on the food and service rather than elaborate decor. It is likely a comfortable setting suitable for enjoying a meal with family and friends. The availability of a menu in both Chinese and English indicates that the restaurant caters to a broad customer base, including those familiar with Hunan cuisine and those new to it.

The services offered by 眷湘Easterly Santa Clara include dine-in, as implied by the reviews of the dining experience. They also likely offer takeout, as is common for most Chinese restaurants, although this is not explicitly mentioned. The efficient service style suggests a focus on quick order processing and food delivery from the kitchen. The ability to customize the spiciness of dishes is a significant service feature, allowing diners to tailor their meal to their preferred level of heat, which is particularly important given the spicy nature of much of Hunan cuisine. The availability of a bilingual menu (Chinese and English) enhances accessibility for a wider range of customers.

The features of 眷湘Easterly Santa Clara center around its authentic Hunan cuisine, characterized by rich and savory flavors with customizable spiciness. A key feature mentioned by one reviewer is the potential for large portions, leading to leftovers. However, another reviewer noted smaller quantities for certain dishes relative to their price, so this might vary. The efficient and typical Chinese restaurant service style is also a defining feature. The bilingual menu caters to a diverse clientele. Potential customers who appreciate bold, authentic Hunan flavors and efficient service may find 眷湘Easterly appealing.

Food is good but the quantity is abysmal. $32.99 for the stewed chicken in pork tripe. That has less than half of a chicken and quarter of stomach. The Stir friend pig kidney has more other ingredients than kidney.

To counter a prior review, this is a very typical and efficient Chinese restaurant experience. They won't fuss over you, but quickly take your order and bring the prepared food out as each dish finishes (so if you imaged one dish as a appetizer but takes longer to cook, it will come out later). The menu is available in Chinese or English, and you'll have leftovers for days. The flavors are rich, savory, and as spicy as you like.

I had the Youxian beef brisket soup rice noodles, and it was so good! I also tried the steamed pork belly with dried pickles. It was good, but not to my taste. I definitely want to visit here again!

Not very recommend if you're not a big fan for spicy food. No many choices for non-spicy food. Also the food in general are very salty and oily. In particular 蒜蓉粉丝虾(garlic shrimp with glass noodle), the shrimp is very small with very few meat, while the glass noodle is super salty.

Dined here for dinner and got the kung pao chicken, steamed fish in soy sauce, chicken fried rice. The chicken could do with a thicker and more flavorful sauce and was routine, the fish was tasty and well balanced and so was the chicken fried rice (standard and well executed). Prices are a tad bit higher than anticipated. Good spot for a meal
