About East Dragon
East Dragon is a Chinese restaurant located at 1295 N Sherwood Forest Dr in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. As a part of the platform category of Chinese restaurants serving the local community, it aims to provide a range of Chinese-inspired dishes for dine-in or takeout. This introduction seeks to offer an objective overview of East Dragon based on recent customer feedback available online, covering aspects such as food quality, pricing, portion sizes, and customer service.
Based on the limited recent reviews, customer experiences at East Dragon appear to be mixed, with some significant concerns raised. One reviewer focused on a specific dish, General Tso's chicken, noting that they requested the sauce on the side due to its sweetness. They also commented on the portion size relative to the price, stating that for $15, the portion was small, especially when compared to another local establishment, China One, which reportedly offers double the portion for a lower price of $12. This suggests that some customers may find East Dragon's pricing to be high for the quantity of food received.
The same reviewer described the food as "decent" but reiterated that it was "pricey for what you get." This indicates that while the taste of the food might be acceptable, the value proposition in terms of portion size for the cost may be a point of contention for some diners.
Another, more concerning review detailed a negative experience with the restaurant's employees, specifically mentioning the owner's alleged rude behavior. According to this reviewer, the owner's typical response to customer inquiries or order issues was to yell. The reviewer stated that their family had been regular patrons until a miscommunication occurred with their order. They reported receiving white rice instead of fried rice with a dinner order and claimed that when they sought to correct the mistake, the manager (presumably the owner, as mentioned elsewhere in the review as yelling) shouted and refused to take the food back.
The situation reportedly escalated to the point where the family requested a refund, which was initially refused. The reviewer further alleged that a refund was only issued after police officers who were dining at the establishment intervened. This paints a serious picture of customer service issues and a confrontational management style. The reviewer also raised a disturbing concern about food handling, suggesting that if they had not witnessed the disposal of the returned food, it might have been served to another customer. This allegation, if true, would indicate significant food safety and ethical concerns.
The reviewer concluded by stating that their family would no longer patronize East Dragon due to these negative experiences, particularly highlighting the alleged poor treatment of the predominantly black community it serves. This is a grave accusation, suggesting potential issues with customer relations and equitable service.
Given these reviews, it is challenging to provide a balanced introduction to East Dragon based solely on this recent feedback. The comments raise significant concerns about pricing relative to portion size and, more seriously, about customer service and management conduct. Potential local users should be aware of these reported experiences when considering dining at this establishment.
The provided information does not offer any details about the restaurant's environment or any specific features that might be positive aspects of the dining experience. The focus of the available reviews is predominantly on issues related to cost, portion size, and customer service. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a detailed description of the ambiance or any unique selling points based on this information.
Similarly, there is no mention of any promotional information or special offers that East Dragon might be currently running. Local users interested in such details would need to contact the restaurant directly at (225) 275-5868 or +1 225-275-5868 to inquire.
In conclusion, the recent online feedback for East Dragon Chinese Restaurant in Baton Rouge presents a concerning picture regarding customer service and value for money. While one reviewer found the food "decent," they still felt it was overpriced for the portion size. The other review detailed a severely negative experience with the management, including allegations of rude behavior, refusal to correct order errors, and questionable food handling practices. Local users are advised to consider these points carefully when making their dining decisions. Further information or more positive recent reviews would be needed to provide a more balanced and favorable introduction to this establishment.

Customer Reviews
Specifically asked for sauce on the side not covering chicken because general tsos is sickeningly sweet in large amounts. Small portion for 15 bucks. China One gives you double for 12 bucks! Food is decent, but pricey for what you get.
This restaurant has the most rude employees. If you have a question about your order the owner always feels the best response is to yell. My family were great patrons of this establishment until there was a miscommunication. The food was the most decent we could find and the prices use to be reasonable. We ordered a dinner and got white rice instead of fried rice. When we wanted to correct it the manager shouted and refused to take it back. We were going to pay the difference for the food until she shouted. We returned the food for a refund that wasn't going to be issued except there was police eating there. She took the food back and issued a refund. If they didn't watch her dispose of the food, she would have given it to someone else. That is the last time my family ate from here. This establishment should clean up their attitudes or be shutdown. They feel as though because they service a predominantly black community; they can treat the community horribly.
Food was well prepared and delicious. I ordered via door dash and they did well too.
I usually enjoy east dragon, however the last few times I've gone the amount of food has decreased while the price increases. I ordered broccoli and shrimp they usually put the rice in a separate container, however today they included it on the same dish. I paid $10+for mostly rice. There was barely any room for the veggies.
By far the best and most consistent Chinese take out in Baton Rouge. I haven’t tried any dish here that I did not enjoy. My go to menu option from here is the Crab Rangoon. This is one of the places that I always recommend when somebody’s craving Chinese food.
