Customer feedback regarding East China Restaurant presents a diverse range of experiences. One recent review describes a profoundly disappointing meal, highlighting only two positive aspects: the flavor and crispy texture of the General Tso's chicken served with lo mein, and a pork egg roll. This reviewer detailed significant issues with other dishes ordered. The Mongolian beef was described as being predominantly onions with few, overcooked bamboo shoots and inedible dried chilies. The seasoning was noted as unusual, tasting of Asian BBQ sauce and ketchup, and the flavor was weak, overpowered by the large quantity of onions. The accompanying fried rice was simply described as yellow rice without vegetables or protein, adding to the disappointment.
Furthermore, the spring rolls, which were part of a combo meal, were criticized for having very little filling, consisting mostly of fried dough. While acknowledging they were complimentary, the reviewer suggested that they detracted from the meal. The partner's experience included General Tso's chicken, which was praised for its flavor and crispiness, but the lo mein was described as tough and under-seasoned, lacking flavor despite the delicious sauce from the chicken. Overall, this customer was so dissatisfied that the leftovers, except for the General Tso's chicken and the single pork egg roll, were discarded.
In stark contrast, another customer shared a highly positive experience during a lunch break. This reviewer, a first-time visitor, showed a picture of a desired meal to the staff, who readily identified it and prepared it with extra spice as requested. The combination of shrimp lo mein and General Tso's chicken was enthusiastically described as "SOOOOO GOOD OMG!" The food was noted for its freshness, the chicken for being crispy, and the sauce for being flavorful enough to not require additional condiments like soy or duck sauce. This customer also commended the great customer service and highly recommended East China Restaurant.
Considering these two recent reviews, it's evident that the dining experience at East China Restaurant can vary. While one customer found significant issues with multiple dishes, including the Mongolian beef, fried rice, and spring rolls, and noted problems with the lo mein's texture and seasoning, another customer had a highly satisfying experience with the shrimp lo mein and General Tso's chicken, praising the freshness and flavor of the food, as well as the service.

Customer Reviews
I have to say, this was a profoundly disappointing meal. There were only two highlights in the whole experience: the flavor and crispy texture of the chicken with lo mein and the pork egg roll. The dish I got was Mongolian beef. To start with, it was nothing but onions and a few dried (inedible) chilis. As you can see from my picture, it is mostly white and green onions. There were some bamboo shoots in there, but not that many, and they had been cooked too long, as they were as soft as the onions, if not softer. The seasoning on the dish was nothing like I experienced before, and that is, unfortunately, not a compliment. It tasted of Asian BBQ sauce and ketchup? The flavor was also so light that the incredible amount of onions dominated the dish. I also got fried rice with my dish, and it was just yellow rice with no vegetables or protein. Another disappointment. The spring rolls were also highly disappointing. They came with the “combo” of the two dishes we got, so I understand they are free, but if you are going to serve them, please ensure that they have filling and are an addition and not a detraction from the dish. The spring rolls were filled with next to nothing, mostly the fried dough used to wrap them. My partner got Lo Mein and General Tso’s chicken, and the flavor and crispiness of the chicken were incredible. However, her Lo Mein was kinda tough and definitely under seasoned, as it had no flavor, and what a shame, as the sauce from the chicken was delicious. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience. I always save my leftover Chinese food for another day, but these went straight into the trash after we consumed the only delicious items, the General Tso’s chicken and the one pork egg roll.
If I could give 10 stars, I would! I went here for the 1st time on lunch break around 11 and showed the nice sweet lady working the register, a pic of a meal they sell. She knew exactly what it is and made it spicy for me! The shrimp lo mein and general tso chicken was SOOOOO GOOD OMG! It was fresh, the chicken was crispy how I like it and the sauce was the bomb! I didnt have to add soy or duck sauce, it was so good! Thank you for your great customer service, highly recommend this!
Ordered chicken and broccoli. Got a lot of broccoli and rice but very little chicken. Ordered chicken wings and they were at least 2 days old. Extremely dry. Ordered fried dumplings and nothing but thick dough. Will never return to East China. Will return to our regular Chinese restaurant. We're so glad we didn't tip them. Low quality!
Disgusting! Worst Chinese food we’ve ever had. Let me include the shrimp with peppers only had 5 pieces of shrimp, the eggroll was completely soggy. Waste of $50….
I just love this place! They are always in positive spirits and always working hard and quickly! The food is superb and anytime I’m in my hometown I visit from a good grub! Oh and if you’ve not tried their homemade Tea please get a jumbo cup and thank me later!
