About East China

East China is a Chinese restaurant located at 5480 141st St W #110 in Apple Valley, Minnesota. As a local establishment in the Chinese Restaurant category, East China offers its cuisine primarily through takeout and potentially dine-in services, although one review specifically mentions ordering through Uber Eats, suggesting a reliance on third-party delivery platforms as well. The restaurant can be contacted at (952) 423-2220 or via their mobile number +1 952-423-2220 for orders and inquiries.

Recent online reviews present a stark contrast in customer experiences at East China. One reviewer who ordered food through Uber Eats reported a highly negative experience with the quality of several dishes. They described the boneless spare ribs as lacking flavor except for an "extreme amount of salt." The fried rice was said to have a "weird taste" that was unappetizing, with the reviewer expressing surprise at a Chinese restaurant being unable to prepare good fried rice. The lo mein was described as "super super super greasy" and ultimately inedible. This customer expressed significant dissatisfaction, stating that spending $50 on takeout that could not be eaten was a complete waste of money.

In stark contrast, another customer shared a highly positive and recurring experience with East China. This reviewer stated that it is the only Chinese restaurant they frequent anymore, citing that the food is "always hot, fresh, and delicious tasting at a very affordable price." They also praised the husband and wife who own the establishment as being "very friendly." This customer reports eating at East China about once a week and almost always orders the chicken chow mein, which they find to be "beyond reasonable price," noting that a $12 order can feed two people. They also mentioned that the chicken curry is "real good" and gave it a thumbs-up emoji.

The significant divergence in these two recent reviews suggests a potential inconsistency in food quality or perhaps a difference in experiences between dine-in/direct takeout orders versus those placed through third-party delivery services like Uber Eats. The negative review focuses on issues with flavor balance (excessive salt, weird taste), texture (greasy lo mein), and overall edibility, leading to a substantial financial loss for the customer. The positive review, on the other hand, emphasizes consistent freshness, delicious taste, affordability, generous portions (a $12 chow mein feeding two), and friendly service from the owners.

Based on the positive review, East China appears to have a loyal customer base who appreciate the value, quality, and service they receive. The mention of specific dishes like chicken chow mein and chicken curry as consistently good and reasonably priced highlights potential signature items. The friendliness of the owners suggests a personal touch and a welcoming atmosphere for those who interact with them directly, likely through phone orders or in-person visits.

However, the negative review cannot be ignored, as it raises serious concerns about the quality of certain dishes, particularly when ordered through a third-party platform. It's possible that the preparation or handling of food for delivery might differ, or there could have been an off night in the kitchen. Regardless, this experience resulted in a significant amount of inedible food and a highly dissatisfied customer.

Without further information, it is difficult to ascertain the typical environment of East China. The positive review does not mention dining in, but the fact that it's a local restaurant owned by a couple suggests the possibility of a physical space for ordering and perhaps some seating for dine-in or waiting for takeout. The negative review, focusing solely on a delivery order, provides no insight into the restaurant's ambiance or service beyond the food itself.

In terms of services, East China clearly offers takeout and utilizes third-party delivery services like Uber Eats. The positive review implies efficient and reliable service, leading to repeat business. The negative review, while critical of the food, does not comment on the efficiency of the delivery process itself, only the quality of the delivered food.

There is no promotional information available in these reviews. The positive reviewer mentions the affordable pricing and the generous portion size of the chicken chow mein, which could be considered a strong value proposition. To learn about any specific promotions or discounts, local users would need to contact the restaurant directly.

In conclusion, East China in Apple Valley, MN, presents a mixed picture based on recent customer reviews. While one customer praises the consistently hot, fresh, delicious, and affordable food, along with the friendly owners, another experienced significant issues with the quality of takeout ordered through Uber Eats, finding several dishes to be poorly prepared and inedible. Local users considering East China should be aware of these contrasting experiences. If ordering takeout, especially through third-party services, it might be prudent to check recent reviews for any recurring issues. For those who prefer direct interaction or have dined there in person, the positive review suggests a potentially much more satisfactory experience with fresh, well-priced food and friendly service.

Ordered food through Uber eats so I canโ€™t comment on service but the food was not good. Boneless spare ribs lacked any flavor except for extreme amounts of salt. Fried rice had a weird taste, not sure what but it was not good. How can a Chinese place mess up fried rice?!? Lo mein was super super super greasy!!! Inedible. Spending $50 on take out that you cannot eat is such a waste.

This is the only Chinese restaurant I go to anymore. When the food is always hot, fresh, and delicious tasting at a very affordable price....why would I go anywhere else. The husband and wife that own this place are very friendly. I eat here about once a week. I almost always get Chicken chow mein which is beyond reasonable price. $12 of chow mein will feed two people. Chicken curry is real good too. ๐Ÿ‘

This place is amazing! Phenomenal food and very friendly staff! Their egg rolls are great and I've loved everything that I've ever gotten there. Best Chinese food south of the cities for sure. Thank you East China ๐Ÿค—
