About East Buffet
East Buffet, located at 4207 Main St in Flushing, New York, is a Chinese restaurant categorized as a purveyor of Cantonese dim sum. Based on recent customer feedback, the restaurant offers a varied experience that may appeal to those seeking a quick and no-frills dim sum option, while potentially falling short for those desiring a more memorable or conveniently located dining experience. It's worth noting that past experiences, as indicated by one long-time customer, suggest a history of serving delicious Cantonese dim sum, positioning it as a notable establishment in the neighborhood and even within the wider city.
The environment at East Buffet appears to be one of high activity, particularly during peak weekend hours. Customers visiting around noon on weekends should anticipate a potential wait time of 15 to 30 minutes due to significant crowds. This suggests that the restaurant is a popular choice, at least during these times. The bustling atmosphere indicates a steady flow of patrons, likely drawn by the promise of dim sum. However, specific details regarding the restaurant's decor or overall ambiance are not provided in the available reviews.
In terms of service, the feedback is somewhat mixed. One recent visitor described the service as quick, noting the frequent circulation of dim sum carts throughout the dining area. This suggests an efficient system for delivering food to customers, which is crucial given the reported high volume of diners. The staff is also mentioned as trying to keep things moving despite the busy environment. However, another key aspect of service, the attentiveness and quality beyond just speed, is not extensively commented upon in these reviews.
The primary feature of East Buffet is its Cantonese dim sum offerings. According to one long-time patron, the dim sum has consistently been delicious over the years, establishing the restaurant as a top choice for this specific cuisine in the area. This positive sentiment from a returning customer speaks volumes about the potential quality and authenticity of their dim sum. However, a more recent experience paints a slightly different picture. This visitor found most of the dim sum to be "just okay," neither terrible nor particularly memorable. A significant point of concern was the deep-fried shrimp ball, which was served cold and appeared to have been sitting out for an extended period. This inconsistency in food quality is something potential diners should be aware of.
Another factor to consider is the location of East Buffet. One reviewer pointed out that the restaurant is situated quite a distance from the subway station, making it less convenient compared to other dim sum establishments in Flushing. For those relying on public transportation, this could be a significant drawback. Accessibility is an important consideration when choosing a dining location, and the relative remoteness from the subway might influence the decision for some potential customers.
Considering the available information, East Buffet presents itself as a Chinese restaurant specializing in Cantonese dim sum, with a history of serving delicious fare. It tends to be very busy, especially on weekends around lunchtime, which can result in wait times. The service is reported to be quick, with dim sum carts circulating frequently. However, recent experiences suggest a potential inconsistency in food quality, with some dishes being just average and, in at least one instance, not served fresh. The restaurant's location, being somewhat far from the subway, might also be a factor for those using public transport.
For local users in Flushing seeking a Cantonese dim sum experience, East Buffet offers a potentially convenient option, especially if they are not reliant on the subway for transportation. The restaurant's long-standing reputation for delicious dim sum, as highlighted by a loyal customer, suggests that they are capable of delivering high-quality traditional dishes. However, the recent feedback regarding mediocre food and issues with freshness indicates that the experience can be variable. If you are looking for a quick and perhaps more budget-friendly dim sum option and are not overly concerned about a potentially crowded environment or a longer walk from the subway, East Buffet might be worth considering. However, if you prioritize exceptional and consistently high-quality dim sum, along with a more convenient location, exploring other options within Flushing might be advisable.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information available in the provided reviews. Potential customers may want to contact the restaurant directly at (718) 353-6333 or +1 718-353-6333 to inquire about any ongoing specials or promotions. Given the mixed recent reviews, it might be prudent to manage expectations and perhaps focus on popular, traditionally prepared dim sum items based on the positive historical feedback. Ultimately, the decision to dine at East Buffet will depend on individual priorities regarding food quality consistency, convenience of location, and tolerance for potentially crowded dining conditions.

Customer Reviews
I recently visited Easy Buffet after a long time, bringing friends from California who wanted to try dim sum. Unfortunately, the experience was mediocre at best. If you go on a weekend around 12 PM, expect a 15-30 minute wait due to the huge crowd. The restaurant is busy, but the staff does try to keep things moving. Service was quick, and dim sum carts came by frequently. Most of the dim sum we ordered was just okay—nothing terrible, but nothing memorable either. The biggest disappointment was the deep-fried shrimp ball, which arrived cold and clearly had been sitting out for a while. This place is pretty far from the subway station, making it inconvenient compared to other dim sum spots in Flushing. If you're looking for quick, no-frills dim sum, Easy Buffet does the job, but there are far better options in Flushing.
We have been here years ago. A lot of times we came twice a week. And this place is holding the same: delicious Cantonese Dimsum. Which means they are one of the best dimsum restaurants in the neighborhood. Perhaps, for me, one of the best in the city.
The restaurant posted misleading advertisement about 2 hours free parking when you dine in. The front desk lady said we would pay more for the parking without the stamp on the parking ticket. This is a pure LIE! The garage charges $6 for sedan and CRV for 2 hours no matter what. I don’t mind paying for the parking, but I don’t like to be scammed!
Seafoods are amazingly good and fresh. We ordered king crab for 3 ways. Lobster and geoduck were made for sashimi and seafood soup. We also had some Hong Kong style barbecue and fried noodles. Foods were really good!
Top quality, service, & pricing 🥇🥇 Take note that this venue is divided into 2 locations. I’m reviewing the ground floor dining and not the 2nd floor banquet hall. Mainly Cantonese cuisine. $20 for a 1.2 Lb lobster. Can have it either steamed, wok fried, or cooked with ginger & scallion. We ordered 3 styles and all were delicious. The duck comes either regular roasted or with a bit of honey roasted. Both are excellent! 👍👍 This is my top 5 spots in Flushing. You also can book the VIP private room for a minimum spend of $600, seats up to 15 people. Great place for dim sum on 2nd floor, no tip necessary or service fee for dim sum days. $4.25 for small, medium, & large.
