Customer Reviews
The restaurant is located in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn. They prepare Chinese cuisine. I ordered the Taiwan sausage appetizer. It is similar to a hot dog and was served on a wooden skewer. The crab meat steamed dumplings were six in the order. They were very soft and watery. The chicken pan fried noodles were similar to lo mein noodles with little chicken. The food was average in taste and flavor. Friendly and helpful staff.
Cozy interior, clean. They immediately bring water or green tea for free. Our whole family loves their lanzhou noodle non spicy and spicy version. You can choose thinner or thicker noodles. Children love to take tasty drinks from the refrigerator themselves. The food is delicious. Rich broth, tasty meat, great noodles. Children love this place.
I went here for lunch and had the beef bottle and pork burger with soda combo. The beef noodles were good. The broth had nice rich flavor and transferred to the noodles well. The noodles had a nice bouncy bite. The pork burger wasn't so great unfortunately - the pork barely had any flavor but the bun was good. The service was spectacular. They were not rushing me but also attentive and the food came out pretty fast.
Dun Huang is a cozy spot for good food at an amazing price. The portions are large, and the flavors are balanced. The garlic oysters were a highlight—huge and perfectly grilled. I also loved the thick noodles in the Big Plate Chicken dish. The beef in the hand-pulled noodles was just ok and could’ve been more tender. The beef skewers were very average, but the enoki mushroom skewers were a surprising hit. This location is brighter and renovated vs. the 8th Ave spot, making it a more comfortable dining experience with less-crowded street parking. Overall, it’s a solid choice for a large meal.
Lunch for 2, food came fast, in today’s world, I must say nice prices, decent amount of food. The chicken skewers were surprisingly tender. Hand pulled noodles were in the right texture and the beef was excellent, tender, not chewy, not “melty”, was very happy with it. No services truly, after food were delivered on table, server never came back to check in, my teacup was empty, there were 2 tables only before dinner time starts. The decor is nice, simple yet calming with the wood them accent. Update after 3 months- Feb 2024 Must say the are not doing as good as I wish they are. While it’s dinner time and many other restaurants nearby are packed with diners, this spot had 2 tables including us. There were 3 of them in the front, girl was very impatient when asked about a different between 2 similar noodle soup, she shown it right away in her tone and face the whole time. The entire dinner experience was not pleasant, three was them came back to bring what we ordered or take away empty plates but no one ever offer us more tea. Till the last drop, they came, yet no one bother to fill more tea. Not attentive and shown careless as well. A bit bummed since I due really like their food.
