The Takoyaki was delicious; it was my first time eating anything like it. I wish there were more of the sauce that goes with it so I could dunk the balls in it. The soup and tempura were terrific. When you enter the restaurant, the floor has this unique aquarium effect.
I had the soup dumplings, BBQ pork buns, beef pot stickers and chicken and corn dumplings. They brought out a dumpling soup for 2 people that was really good that they said isn't on the menu so I don't know what it was called. Everything was great. I really liked the BBQ pork buns. A good amount of filling. Try the different condiments they have. The dumpling sauce and chili oil were nice additions.
Food Xiao Long Biao, it's the thinnest wrap I've had in Milwaukee so it's good. There could be more flavor in the filling and soup however. I love there are traditional dipping sauces you can create for the dumplings. Sushi was fresh and delicious. Menu was very reasonably priced. The katsu was crispy, the sauce was mediocre. The udon was good chewy and texture, but the soup could have had more flavor. The lonely one shrimp tempura. But the shrimp in the soup noodle were decent size. The steamed shrimp and pork dumplings was thick wrapper, again not as flavorful as I would have hoped. Overall, could pass and good option. But not for someone looking for authenticity. Service was great. No complaints. Atmosphere is good for one, couple or family and even bigger parties. Relaxing dimly lit calming environment. 2 sections in case you wanted to be more secluded. I don't drink, but they had a full bar and many liquor and wine options if one was interested.
Came in on a Saturday night and it was pretty dead. Service was incredibly slow and we did not get one item that we ordered(house salad) that we got charged for as well. I ordered the takoyaki and they brought out tako-yu (octopus over rice). I said I didn't order that, and 30 minutes later the takoyaki was brought out. Got charged for both (the tako-yu was $9.50!). All that being said the food we got was absolutely delicious (with the exception of the takoyaki where to octopus was very chewy). The Udon noodles were light fluffy and full of flavor. Loved both kinds of pot stickers/dumplings we ordered too.
My wife and I found The Dumpling House tonight in the middle of the thunderstorms. When it comes to Asian food, I’m quite adventurous, though my wife is a bit reserved. She immediately gravitated towards Seafood Udon, which was delicious — fresh mussels, scallops, very aromatic and flavorful. I ordered the Pork Soup Dumplings and the BBQ Bao. These were phenomenal! The broth in the soup dumpling was very tasty, good spice but not spicy. And the meat was tender as well. The Bao was perfectly fluffy and light with great BBQ inside. My wife tried both and would order either one again now knowing that the unknown is quite delicious. Miss Lin was extremely friendly, and helpful walking us through the menu. We will certainly return based on our experience with her alone. If you haven’t been here - you owe it to yourself. It was terrific.
